The anti-theft device on my '04 Chevy Aveo was going off needlessly last night!! I turned into "that" neighbor...it first went off at 3:15am, then about once an hour until 6am this morning. Unfortunately, I live in a very "starter" community, and my poor neighbor's bedroom is right next to where I park (I don't have a garage, so I just park in my driveway).

I'm soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo tired and feel horrible for my poor neighbors.

Thanks for listening.

Not much you can do in that situation. It isn't like you can get it worked on at 3:15 am. Some anti-theft have a way of disabling the alarm but not all.
I myself would have disconnected the battery. Not everyone is able to do that.
You have to just grin and bare it. Also just give your neighbor a little :wave2:

jeez that sucks, I would have popped the hood and disconnected the wire... but you might have cut the wrong one- so it's better you didnt do that.. lol

We had the same problem with our car. We ended up just pulling the fuse that the alarm was hooked up to. No one responds to the alarm anyway..:rotfl2:

Typical factory alarm.
All a theft has to do is pull a fuse and disable alarm.
If they know what they are doing, it's done in under 10 seconds.
30 seconds after that, your car is driving away.

A good alarm it is not that simple. Even pulling the battery cable on some will not stop it, They are built with there own power supply.

My dad used to have that problem. Everytime a flippin squirrel would jump on his car, the alarm would go off. I believe he got a mechanic to change the setting in the alarm so it would only go off if there was movement INSIDE the vehicle, insted of something/someone just touching it.
