Day inn- universal

We just book the Days Inn of Universal Studios. Has anyone stayed there. It says it is in walking distance of IOA. Anyone know how far? Thanks Denniecot:

I've been here. This is off Major Blvd. I got a rate for $29 a night in 11/00. The place isn't bad. The rooms look kind of old. The only problem for some may be that some rooms are close to I-4. If you are a light sleeper, you may be distrubed by traffic. It's probably the best deal for the location, but it isn't the Ritz either.

It is walkable, but quite a hike - I myself wouldn't think of walking it with kids - it's a very quick drive, though. Also got a fabulous rate, but wouldn't stay there again - pretty run down (in '99) and I don't like rooms that open to an outside court instead of a parking lot.
