View Full Version : Calling all single women!!

PixarPal
09-08-2007, 09:12 PM
Since Dismates seems to be next to dead, this board appears to be the only active place for a single Disney guy to meet a single Disney woman.
So where are you all? In reading through past forums it seems like there is about 10 active single women posters….IS THAT IT?
Where are you all hiding?

Have you been to chat more then once, we have our off nights were not alot goes on...but for the most part Chat is pretty active on Dismates. Come back and spend some time getting to know us. We have alot of fun. Also the "any singles thread", has a whole bunch of single women, most of us don't tend to respond to posts like this, but we are out there. :) :)

What do you mean that Dismates is next to dead? are you talking about the chat room? or when people are online looking at profiles, and the PM feature there?

I don't think this post was offensive at all. I have also talked with Pixarpal via PM and he DOES seem like a very nice, normal guy. Unfortunately, we live on opposite ends of the country.

Heck, if it takes a "cattle call" (as one poster put it) to find the right person, so be it (not that I would have considered this a cattle call). I have learned that nobody is going to come knocking on your door....you have to be pro-active!

Best of luck Pixar pal!!! :thumbsup2

Hey PixarPal,

You have to be spontaneous in life to have fun. I don't get stiff people, they are boring anyway :rotfl: I am not single but my sister is (ChevyNat). You seem like a nice person and if my sis can have a friend to chat with well that makes me happy. See I just adore my sister, she is my best friend. So PixarPal, go for it.

Happy belated birthday, Melanie!! And hey, age is only important if you're a cheese. :thumbsup2

And count me as one of those who saw nothing wrong with PixarPal's post. I agree with him also in that Dismates is dead except for chat -- and most of us have lives busy enough to preclude chatting in the evenings. Heck, the only chatting I get to do is required for school. Doesn't "molecular biology chat" sound like a party and a half??

PixarPal, next time I go visit my brother in Solana Beach, I'm coming to pester you. :thumbsup2

Aww, thanks! :goodvibes Newley is my dad's guide dog, and a regular WDW guest. :) Pluto was SO great with him... He crawled the last 20 feet or so to him on all fours, so as not to scare him. I'm not sure what Newley thought of that big orange dog, though. ;)

I've gone to Dismates on several occassions, but there only seems to be a few men from New England listed there. Have winked a couple, but no response back. A few of them started, but never filled in their profiles, so you really can't wink them. Have not found any new postings from NE lately. Wish there was!

So, any male Disney fans out there from New England???

Lol, only someone downstate would would refer to the Adirondacks as upstate :)

I am REALLY upstate, Rochester actually. I visited the Adirondacks quite a bit as a kid though, love it up there. Not a skier but used to snowmobile with my dad.

Hey everyone,

I too have been quite unsatisfied with Dismates, when I first went on I was excited but no one seems to be really be there. I have not done the chats, but might try on here.

Why not give it a try you only live once....

29 year old single female, Northern New Jersey, BUT if I met the right person I would totally relocate.

Living in New Jersey as much as I love being able to get to New York in 5 minutes (depending on traffic) I have not found someone who enjoys Disney or travel as much as I do.

The plus with my job is I can go anywhere so its amazing.

Alright gentlemen, start your engines.

I posted the comment below in another thread and it seemed well received...so I am going to post it here also...hope it helps...:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

If I might make a suggestion to everyone...sometimes by looking at a handle on here you have no idea if the person is male or female and for sure have no idea of their age...I would make the suggestion that if you are truely "looking/available" you put your first name (or a handle that clearly refects your gender) and age in your signature..I come on here every few days and cannot keep track of who are females (yes I know some are obvious) or their age..after all if I am looking, I really do not want to waste my time on someone way out of my age catagory...That my dear friends is my 2 cents for the day...

LindaR
09-20-2007, 06:29 PM
You stated that beautifully! I totally agree! I also wish the same applied to chat on DISMATES. Sometimes (often) I have no clue and don't want to say something that would be taken one way by a male and a different way by a female! And age is an important factor!:hippie:

Instead of uploading to the site you need to host them at a photo site there are free ones like photo bucket and paid ones like smugmug. Once you photos are there then you link to them as follows

your url here replace the your url here with the url that is given by the site and presto your picture will show.

dismates.com

It is sort of like match.com for disney lovers, the site itself isn't very active, but their is a nightly chat that starts around 9pm est time that can be pretty fun. You do not have to sign into dismates to get to chat, it is an option on the front page, just select join chat on the left hand side, it will ask you to put in a name, hit enter and join on in.

Hey G4D, how are you? gosh I wish LOST would return to the airwaves - seems like it's been years since I got my Jack, Sawyer or Sayid fix!!! ;)

Hey there bigsis, how are you? I know, they sure are torturing us this year with this long hiatus, luckily have had sports to keep me busy! (GO Pats/Go Sox). My daughter, who is a bigger Lost fanatic than even all of are! is due with her baby on March 23, she's already informed him or her that they can NOT be born on a Wednesday. I'm cracking up, little does she know....it'll come anytime it dang wants to LOL Ahhhh I love it, already she's learning how difficult it is being a mother!

Hey G4D,

Great to see you again. Didn't the Red Soxs look great last night? I am hoping for a Colorado/Boston WS. :thumbsup2

BTW, if I haven't said it already congrats on your future grandchild. My DD was born on March 22, and my Dnephew on March 21...so it is a great week. :thumbsup2

Another single girl checking in here!

Can't seem to find many Disney-loving men up here in the Prairies!

I'm also single, but really not expecting love to find me up here ha! ha! Not a Disney loving one anyway... So just keeping to myself and enjoying doing things with my children... they are my focus, well always been ha! ha!

:rotfl: I'm one of those 10 I guess, lol. I don't go on dismates anymore because it doesn't seem like there are any in my area and I do NOT do long distance

Same goes for me. I just signed up, had a look around and pretty much figure on not expecting much. No one seems to be in my area either, and long distance just doesn't seem real to me.
