DD is turning 12 and has been asking for her own digital. I don't want to get anything too expensive, since she does use my good Sony when she is with me. I just need a point and shoot, maybe a few "perks" on it, would like to have Image Stabilization. A viewfinder would be great, but at the price range I am looking at, there are not many out there. Looking to spend no more than $120 or so. I looked at a Kodak Easyshare, and a Samsung, Canon and Sony. The Kodak had a viewfinder, Image Stab. and a bunch of extras. They even said you can edit the pics with fun frames, etc on your camera. Since I have a Sony, can anyone tell me about the Kodaks?

Since you didn't mention the model numbers you were considering, it's difficult to be too specific. In general, Kodak seems to offer a lot of features for the $$. However, Kodak digital cameras also have a reputation for not being terribly durable and having less than stellar image quality. Honestly though, the features might be more important than IQ to a 12yo.

I got my niece a Canon a430 last year. She's only 8 and can operate this camera easily. It's a great quality camera at an awesome price that is perfect for the beginner. It's durable and takes beautiful photos too. Incidentally, Canon just upgraded this particular camera - it's now called the Canon a460, and has a larger screen. You can get one for about $100.00 almost anywhere.
