Does a baby/toddler (under 3) count as a person when booking rooms?
I know at WDW I can have 4 people and a baby in my room is this the same for the staterooms? Or will we need another room?
It would be dh, me, dd16 and ds11 with our new dd2 when we decide to cruise.
(yes my dd counts as a person to me!)

I believe that DCL does count your young child in the room count. You would have to get either a category 4 or higher or 2 rooms.

Yes, they count her as a person and you would have to get a room that sleeps 5 or more. The good thing is she goes for sooooooo cheap. You pay for port fee and taxes, that's all. This is why so many people book the cruise as the 2 year old turns 3 on the ship. They do count her and you have to get a room that sleeps 5 or two connecting rooms or a room next door if you trust the other kids alone. If you get two rooms, you then have to pay for the other kids (11 & 16) as adults because the rooms are booked on double occupancy and one adult does have to be assigned to each room. Hope this helps. :hippie:
As already stated, your child under 3 does count in the room count for DCL. If you are wanting just one cabin, you will need a cat. 1-4. Many on this site have booked two cat. 10 connecting rooms. If you decide to do this be sure you know the difference between connecting and adjoining rooms. Connecting means they have a door connecting the two. Adjoining just means they are next to each other. Having two cabins can be nice since you will have twice the room and two bathrooms. The major drawback is that they are inside cabins. Some will reserve cat. 8's instead for the outside windows. atinkerbellmom has already mentioned that when booking two cabins you will need to list you in one cabin and your spouse in the other. At least one adult must be listed for each cabin. You will pay full rates for each of the first four people. However it is often quite a bit cheaper reserving two cat. 10's than one cat. 4.
