We leave in 19 days!! In addition to packing these next two weeks I'm concentrating on super cleaning my house...call it Disney cleaning instead of spring cleaning...ha! I scrub the floors etc so when I come home all I have to worry about is laundry. I've got the first floor done, I'm working on the second floor (bedrooms) this week.
I haven't decided when to start packing. I've moved our "Disney clothes" bought special for the trip into the spare room closet..that's ground zero for packing. NO ONE goes in there and touches/removes anything but me!
Anyone else starting to prepare for their upcoming trip?

I leave in 25 days - I am collecting for packing! I have special Disney dresses I ordered for my DGD, a new stroller with gadgets! (I love gadgets), a new swimsuit for DGD, pjs, toddler disposable silverware and sippy cups, table toppers, and swim diapers. Her DM is packing her other stuff. I pulled out the suitcases...

Leaving in 10 days and I haven't started to pack. It's my first trip and I'm stressed I'm going to forget something.
I think I have everything. I've been following all the advice on here and in the books so I'm hoping my bases are covered.

But I am so un-motivated to get ready for the trip. I have been planning and reading and researching for months and now, here we are, leaving in less than a week, and I am completely unmotivated to pack or get ready to go. I have no idea what my problem is. Since today is a holiday and I don't have to work today, maybe i will find the energy to get started. I have tried to not get my DS4 too hyped up over the trip just because then he will be too hyper---DH is just "going along for the ride" or flight, I might say and he really doesn't care if we see the Mouse or not.
If anyone has any encouraging words for me, I would certainly appreciate it!

We leave in 6 days! Yesterday I did the "Disney cleaning", I can't believe someone else does this. I always scrub the house so when I get home its clean, I hate coming home to a house that's upside down. I also started the laundry yesterday and started setting aside all the clothes to take and took out all the special new stuff that's only for Disney. My hubby will get the suitcases down from the attic today and I will start ironing and packing! I also went to the grocery store and bought snacks and treats for the kids for the plane. I can't wait to get there

Another "Disney cleaner" here! There is no bigger downer than coming home from a great time at Disney to a dirty house.
We leave Sunday the 16th. Over this week I'll start to tackle one big project a night and then do the final clean on the 15th.
The weekend before we leave (yayy--that's this weekend) I'll pull out the suitcases and start "stacking" in the guest room, wash and iron what I need to, check our toiletry cases for shampoo, toothpaste, etc. Saturday the 15th I clean, finish packing, then off for a manicure and pedicure.
My husband laughs, but I enjoy my little ritual.
Good packing to all.

I have gotten out 1 suitcase for all of the "Disney staples" such as rain ponchos, first aid, OTC meds, travel toiletries, airfreshenrs, plastic dishes, etc. Next weekend I'll start packing clothes.
I'll try to do a little extra cleaning around the house but since DH and the dog will be home alone while we are gone....I'll come home to a "lived in" house.
12 more days!!!!

I started packing last week. I have our suitcases out and started putting in clothes that we bought specially for the trip. I've also started putting meds, etc. in the suitcases.
I'm so excited. I'm tempted to pull all of the clothes that we need and just pack away.

18 days to go!! I have been putting toiletry stuff away for months now. I buy as I see sales & put it all in a carry on in the closet (so the family doesn't see it & got nuts, "You're packing ALREADY?!?!!?") This weekend, I couldn't stand it anymore and took out the suitcases. I have just about all my clothes packed except for pj's & shoes/sandals which I'm still using. Ok, so I need professional help. DD, who is the only one stuck going with me this time, will pack the night before. I'm trying to tell myself, "Self, as long as she's ready by the time we leave for the airport, its ok! Breathe, Breathe!"
I have also printed 4 or 5 different packing lists and have marked them ALL. Today, I'll go through the toiletries bag to see what I've forgotten.
Is this obssessed enough?

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who does the "Disney Cleaning" either. I started on the upstairs yesterday. I've got two more rooms to go and one bathroom. I work the next three days twelve hour night shifts so I will be taking a break from the "Disney Cleaning" for a few days.
I'd pack our clothes, but other than the ones I bought for the trip, we're still wearing some as it is still pretty warm here. I just want to be finished this year before the last day so I can finish the last minute errands, take the pets to the sitters they will be going to and relax the last day.
Let's keep this going so we can update and encourage each other!!

How many outfits did you pack? I'm wanting to take less stuff this year, but I usually pack one outfit for day and one for evening as it gets so hot I like to come back shower and get into a fresh outfit for the evening.
Anyone else?

:rotfl2: You guys have been hit in the head with the pixie-dust wand one time to many, if you ask me. (not ment in a negative way, but in a funny positive way) This is so funny. Packing even up to months before! Guess we'll only have to wait untill the next person comes to confess he/she unpacks their suitcase after coming back, washes everything and repacks the same day. :rotfl2: Never mind me ever thinking again I'm packing too early, you guys definately healed me from that. This board is good for people in so many ways. :goodvibes
(only 4 more hours untill I'm leaving for the airport, and there's still a dress hanging here waiting to be packed at the very very last moment.)

We leave in 25 days!! I did some major packing this weekend. I think I finished purchasing all our toilettries. I picked up some rain ponchos and some OTC meds, etc. today. All I have left to pack is clothes. I will decide the day before we leave, when I have my final vacation-diet weigh-in, on which clothes I will pack. I'm going to have a marathon the night before we leave of trying on everything I have in my closet and decide what looks best. I NEVER wear shorts at home, only to WDW so I will see which shorts that I have purchased over the course of the summer look best come vacation day.
I hope to still lose at least 10 pounds before we leave.

I started packing last weekend. Put stuff in the suitcase I knew I wouldn't normally need. Two golf shirts, a beach towel, several books, a Lynx schedule (for when I go to SeaWorld), my MNSSHP ticket, my water bottle. I have to do wash on Sept 28th and 29th and pack the rest. I'll put everything in my truck the night before I leave as I have to get out of the house by 4:30 AM! *EEEEEWWWWWWW*

We leave in 9 days and I haven't the foggiest as to everything I'm gonna pack let alone pack anything. I think the reason is that my father-in-law is visiting us from Holland starting this week and I'm pretty focused on getting the house ready for his visit. Once this weekend is here and he's settled in I'll start to pack. We're leaving smack dab in the middle of his visit. We told him before he purhased his flight that we already scheduled a visit to WDW, but did he listen??? Nooooo. It's a good thing this will only be a quick trip(4nights/5days) and when we return we'll still have an additional week to spend with him. Just goes to show ya that nothing stands in the way of Disney.

I guess you could say I started packing for this trip last November! (that's when we got back from our last trip) I put all our essential Disney stuff in a rubbermaid tub & just put it up in the attic. When I started buying tshirts & stuff for this trip, I just add it to the tub. I told my DH the other day about how I bought us all matching tshirts, and let me tell you, he was NOT excited about that at all. We'll see if I can get him to go along with that. I also bought him & DS5 matching Baloo shirts, but he'll be fine with that one!
And you can add me to the house cleaner list too! Although I kinda do that for every trip we take. I just hate to come home to a messy house. Plus I usually have a friend coming in to take care of my cat, so I don't want them to think we live like pigs!! ;)

Another Disney Cleaner here too! However, leaving the college student home because she just got back from Florida and refuses to leave, what a nut job :lmao: Anyway, any mess that girl makes better be cleaned before I step foot in my door or she'll be a practicing Cinderella for a year! ;) :laundy:
Okay 17 days and I'm not packed yet, will do that this weekend, well start anyway. It is still warm here in MA so we still need our shorts and stuff, by next weekend it's a done deal completely done by the 16th end of story. I am starting to get the lists and things together so they'll be all set, my carry on will be all set too this week. If I pack now and have to look at those cute suitcases with Mickey all over them just sitting there full of Disney clothes, I'll go berzerk, lol.
Can't wait!

Hmmm....13 days to go....
Trying to remember where DD put those travel size toiletries?....where the bathing suits ended up after the Jersey Shore trip?....I know I bought more Moleskin and some spray fans back in June?..... :rotfl:
Ahhh well ...I'll end up doing my "final countdown packing & cleaning sprint" since I'm too excited to function normally 48 hours before WDW anyhow.....
and :wizard: POOF! it all magically falls into place with just minutes to spare and off we go!! :moped: HeHe

Almost all packed. DD and I got our legs waxed today and had errands to run. Will finish packing and start cleaning house tomorrow because I have dental appt and a meeting on Thursday which will take me up to the afternoon. Hoping to get called in tomorrow night so I can have 10hrs overtime. If not then hope not to get a call for Thursday or Friday night (we leave 630am Sat morning and don't really want to work until 4am then leave from there to the airport).
I just did up my emergency contact and things to do list.

Ahh....I am among my own kind...:lmao: I have been packing for months. Tell DH that we have matching tees as well...and not only do we wear matching tees, we all have matching Levis to go WITH the shirts. (shorts for DH and DS, capris for me.) DH and DS also have matching Stitch shirts..Mom is ALL ABOUT THE MOUSE...Mickey, that is.

You Disney cleaners might be onto something... I think I'll have to try that for this trip!
I just started my pre-Disney diet! I have never done the DDP before, but hearing and seeing how much food you get, I know I need to prepare myself!:scared: If I'm good at home for a couple of weeks, I'll feel better about indulging down in WDW. popcorn::
As for packing, I'll probably wait until a week before to physically start filling my suitcase, however, you can bet I have been mentally packing already! Oh, and buying Donald and Goofy T-shirts for me and DBF online today! :rolleyes1

How on earth did you get a family of six...two suitcases...10 days??? I'd like to know the secret because I can't get my family of three in under two suitcases each for a 10 day trip! My mom (our fourth traveler) didn't make it easier..she keeps buying complete outfits for my girls, with matching shoes! I have to cut her internet connection the next two weeks!

with a lot of practice! and discipline- and we do laundry when we are there. we brought 7 outfits each and 3 pairs of pj's and three swimsuits. I have yet to pack our toiletries - and we pack a carry on with one outfit each , pr pj's and swimsuit just for backup - late luggage or unforseen circumstances....but truly this is our seventh trip there and we have NEVER packed so light...it is a daunting task to have four kids and 4 carry ons and 4 pieces to check in and a set of golf clubs to boot! So I look at it as way less work I guess! We shall see....if we run out of clothes then I will just have to buy more right????:goodvibes

I would have to say I have been sort of packing for this trip since February, when we booked it. I have been buying stuff since then, and just putting boxes into the Disney Closet. On Sunday, we busted open the boxes and I started organizing eveything. Turns out I bought each of my nieces 10 shirts for a 7 day trip! I just couldn't stop! I also bought them new undies, socks, shorts, flip flops, crocs, a dress, beach towels, and swimsuits. I gave a list to their mom of things they need, and it consisted of "4 pairs of shorts each, 3 extra pairs of socks each (I got them a 6 pack), and bras for the 12 y/o." My SIL says "Did you actually buy them eveything else?" Then she proceeded to yell at me for spoiling her kids! Hello, I am taking them to WDW for a week, doesn't that count as spoiling? :lmao: I just want to make sure they are dressed Disney too! :earsgirl: I also bought new clothes for the DH and I, and those are all packed away. I bought new packs of socks and undies for us both, and just threw them in the bags. Then, when we get back, I have all new stuff! And, I can avoid the last minute laundry rush! :thumbsup2 I have definitely been doing the cleaning thing as well. I have my sister coming to take care of the crew that WDW won't allow to come:dog: :dog2: :cat: :dogdance: , so I need the house somewhat clean for her.

I'm with the PP. Two suitcases? First of all a husband who "limited" my packing might find himself stuffed in his golf bag and sent by UPS ground!:lmao: With the new 50 lb limits on weight in suitcases I have taken - and I travel a lot on business of taking a medium sized suitcase and a carryon with me when I travel for week long trips and a big suitcase and a carryon for longer trips! I mean what about shoes? What about my nice thick towels? My robe? My sweater and laptop? Two changes of clothes a day for ladylike perspiration and/or kali rapids rides? That would be 20 outfits for one person???? Magazines, books, and my journal? diapers - well I usually don't carry diapers:rotfl: What about my array of carrying cases? You know purses, backpacks, daypacks, nitepacks.... My toiletries take up a bunch of my carryon with my brush/blower, extra mirror, creams and ointments and sunblock! - indispensible - and my small pharmacy that I carry anywhere over a week - never can tell when you could get typhoid, you know or rabies or something. My ipod and speakers, my rapid charging chargers and extra batteries and camera and ... I feel a little like hyperventilating:eek:

Yep....gets easier each time. In fact, I'm so good at packing light, I have room for an empty duffle in one of those suitcases. And I remind DH that his wallet better be fat for clothing emergencies if that's how we're playin the game!

DITTO to that FAT WALLET comment! I went on SPirit and added another piece of luggage today though, just in case!
I also agree with the golf bag ups thing!!!!
AND it actually easir for the whole to try and pack light, I hate going home with dirty clothes and doing a couple loads of laundry while reading a book by the pool does not bother me.
Believe me...it is already a sight to see the six of us walking through the airport let alone with a miriad of excess baggage! Most times we never wear everything we bring anyhow...but being told (lovingly of course...he isn't a control freak AT ALL....) WHAT TO DO AS FAR AS PACKING GOES SENDS ME THROUGH THE ROOF!!! I could kill him when he comes up and starts barking orders about the trials of packing! GET OUT! O.U.T G-E-T OUTTA MA WAY !!!!
And with the terrible heat at Dis , we all usually change three times a day...no kidding. Once in the am, then for our afternoon swim, then into nice clean clothes for dinner...and I am having dilemas right now as to which three or four pairs of shoes I will bring- I always bring lots of shoes!
As do my kids- they each bring 2 pairs which calculates to 8 pairs! And my DH actually brings three pairs too! He is NUTS!!! Thinking TWO JUST TWO BAGS!!! Which is why I added a third today! ...JUST in case....
I am all done packing for tonight, we leave at 8 am tomorrow, then I will do my final sweep and we will see if we need a third piece!!!hahahahhaaaaaaa
can't sleep ....goin to Disney ....will not get any sleep tonight!:woohoo:

Tomorrow is my laundry day so once I have all of our clothes clean this week (the kids are still wearing some of the clothes that we will take to Disney) I'm going to do a "dry run" on the packing to see how I can try to take as few suitcases as I can. That is if I can get my 6 year old..miss independent..I want to pick my own clothes for vacation out to stop changing her mind on which outfits she wants to take AND keep my mother off the internet from ordering more clothes.
Cleaning is almost there. The heavy duty kind anyhow. I have one more room and one more bathroom to super scrub and then it's just keeping up with things for the rest of the time.
I will make my final packing list after looking at everything...is there ever a final packing list???

I leave next Friday and have started compiling stuff. It isn't officially in a suitcase, but its in a strategic holding pattern. We are there for 7 days so I am figuring 5 outfits each plus 1 pair of long pants each. Then I'll do laundry mid week. The challenge is getting 5 outfits that can "mix and match" so we don't end up with photos in the same outfits twice. I'm a nut, I know. I also have about 4 pairs of flip flops packed....for me. One for the pool, 1 black, 1 brown, 1 "dressy" pair (if there is such a thing); then I need shoes for dinner (probably 2 pairs) and a pair of sneakers. I think I spend more $ getting ready to leave for vacation then I do over the course of the trip. :rolleyes1

Okay...I didn't get much done today. I'm the cheerleading coach for my girls' competition squad/football squad so I had to place tons of phone calls reminding them of the time change in the game Sunday and other things. I did make it to the mall (of course). The Disney store was having a little sale so I found a cute tank top for the girls on sale. (here I was bashing my mom for continuing to buy them clothes). I also got them a stuffed Minnie and Daisy to surprise them with at the resort. They have been taking their Mickey and Donald to WDW for three years now and I thought it would be cool to have Minnie and Daisy surprise them when we get there....now off to hide them!
How's everyone else doing? Any progress??

Two golf shirts, a beach towel, several books, a Lynx schedule (for when I go to SeaWorld), my MNSSHP ticket, my water bottle. I have to do wash on Sept 28th and 29th and pack the rest. I'll put everything in my truck the night before I leave as I have to get out of the house by 4:30 AM! *EEEEEWWWWWWW*
And what is a LYNX schedule for Seaworld?????:confused3

We leave in 8 days. Still not much packed... Everyday I say I am going to pack so more...but never seems to happen. Now that I only have a week I am getting down to the wire. And to top it all off I am only going to have one day off between now and when we leave. AGH!

If you're traveling to SeaWorld from WDW, you can use public transportation http://www.golynx.com it's $3 round trip.

18 days to go!! I have been putting toiletry stuff away for months now. I buy as I see sales & put it all in a carry on in the closet ...
I have also printed 4 or 5 different packing lists and have marked them ALL. Today, I'll go through the toiletries bag to see what I've forgotten.
Is this obssessed enough?
No, you're not obsessed, just organized! I started revising my 9 packing lists since our last trip (Spring 2004) and started packing my Disney boxes in Feburary when we booked our trip. So, if your obsessed, what does that make me? :rotfl2:
I've been putting things in the Disney boxes that have been purchased expressley for the trip, or those things that we will not be using until the trip. I absoluetly hate to pack, so by having these extremely detailed lists, and having the ability to do it a bit at a time, I will not be stressed about it when the trip gets closer. I've already packed the toiletries bags (one for the kids and the other for me - DH is on his own!).
I've also been compiling three lists to help me stay organized: 1) things to make/do before the trip; 2) things to purchase before the trip; and 3) things I want to purchase once I get to the parks. I have an absolutely horrible memory these days, so if I didn't have these lists I'd be sooooo lost.
Am I going to try to have the house picked up before we leave, but the goal of doing "Disney cleaning" is on my dream list. I love to come home to a clean house, but it never happens. Oh well. In my wildest dreams, I guess. :cloud9:
The other thing I've started to do is put together a binder for our trip with dividers for all the places we're going to visit and things we'll do. So far I have 14 sections!
Why am I doing all this? Because who knows when we'll get back to Disney World, and I want to make the most of it while were there. I don't want to have to be trying to figure out all this stuff then; I want to get it out of the way now so I can turn on the autopilot when we get there.
So, am I nuts?

I unpacked & repacked stuff last night - trying to make sure that I have the cards with my ADR's written on them so I don't forget where we're supposed to be & when. Spent all day making the rounds trying to find Disney transfers for T-shirts & no one in the Daytona area carries them. Very frustrating! Guess I'll have to go another route for t-shirts!!

We leave Friday. Today I ironed the important things (I hardly ever iron) and I have had all of the toiletries put aside for some time now. Camera supplies, glow braclets and carry ons all set. All I need to do is fold and pack clothes on Thursday. :goodvibes Can't wait!

This our 1st Fall trip. How bad are the t-storms lately? Do they put a damper on the day & rides being open.
Looking for some advice from Fall WDW experts or FL residents.
Thanks in advance! :flower3:

I leave on Saturday morning for a fun filled week with my sister at The World. Havn't really started packing yet...all I have really done is bought a ton of stuff to take and filled my travel bottles with toiletries. Friday is when I will do my laundry and actually pack my clothes. Also cleaning the apartment like a mad woman so I won't come home to a pigpen.

I'm with you -- I'm also nervous about the weather. I'm traveling with 2 young kids and it will suck to get stuck in a huge rainstorm & get all wet. They will be so cranky the rest of the day (me too!:headache: )
From what I've heard, it might rain hard for up to an hour, then be clear the rest of the day- but its that hour that worries me. We are leaving this Friday, and weather.com shows Tstorms just about everyday (except Tuesday) I think I'll run out & buy a few more cheap ponchos.

I've got my Disney bag packed with ponchos, fans, gift cards & the WDW tickets. Now all I have to do is start laying out the clothes that I want to take so that I don't wear them....LOL....don't want to have to rush to get them washed again before we go see Mickey!! :lmao: Now if I could just rush through the rest of this work week I'd be a really happy person!!:)

Now that I'm packed, I cannot wait for the remaining 2 days to go by!!!!! My Dh and I were just saying yesterday how the anticipation is killing us, and once we're there the time will just fly by so quick. I wish there was a way to slow time down and WDW (well, just not when you're inline for the rides:laughing: ).

2 weeks from today DH and I will be enjoying our dinner at Tutto Italia!!!
I have finished all of my packing minus shoes and a dress. The day before I will revise my suitcase and clothes depending on how the weather looks. I tend to overpack and this gives me a chance to weed out any extras I probably won't need.
This weekend I will pack my carry-on and do an update to our "quart-sized plane ziplock bags" of toiletries. I'll also prepare the bookbag for travel.
The weekend before we leave, I will do a deep clean of the house including kitchen, bathroom, and laundry. Those areas seem to get backed-up the most before a trip.
That will leave the night before (Tuesday) to put everything by the door and try to get 4 hours of sleep. Argh! I just remembered we have pictures @ church the night before too! I'm glad I typed this post otherwise I might have forgotten!
