Marigot?

Can anyone who has been to Marigot on St. Maarten tell me a little about it? Is it worth a visit?

We went to Marigot in 2000. It was a little area with quite a few shops. It reminded me of many of the beach strip mall areas. We did see quite a few shops with unique stuff. Even though it was a peasurable shopping experience, I prefer the shopping at Phillipsburg. It is just off the ship, you can go and come as you please.
