We got back this morning. We did the Pirate and Princess Party but we got the night it threw it down all night, so it turned into a disorganised affair.
Orignally we were told no shows and no parade, the a 15 minute annoucement was given for the parade but it didnt start then when we were getting a HOT drink in Cosmic Rays a cast member came in and shout "by the way the parade has started so if you want to see it get yourselves down to Main Street Quickly" and the we missed the fireworks as we came off Buzz and they were part way threw. No CM seemed to know when anything was happening, but we still had a great night and came away with more Candy than we could carry.
Thought the meeting with Jack Sparrow was well done and DD loved meeting him.

Welcome home,
I was a bit worried about the P&P party as others on here had said they were not quite as good as MNSSHP but we had a great time. prefer Halloween candy though I hate Hersheys chocolate its like eating horrlible tasting wax:rotfl2: I am more a sour, gummmy, chewy person than chocolate.

Welcome home, we also thought that it was less humid despite there being no rain, although it was hot we were not as hot as other years, we did the P & P on the 21st it was fantastic, DH costume with the parrot on the shoulder was much talked about, I intend to write a trippie and will put some pictures on it. We were at MGM on the 24th and got absolutely soaked in the rain trying to get to 50's prime time, so it must have put a bit of a damper on the P & P party! glad you enjoyed it though.

I've heard a few rumours that 'fast passes' for the rides are now not free, we have stretched our budget to it's limits and have 48 days left to wait, the extra expense of paying for fast passes every day (try getting a 3 year old to wait an hour while the adults shuffle along in a queue) could just about break us.
Tell me some good news !
Glad you enjoyed it, can't wait for our adventure !

I don't know where you got your information but last week fast passes were still very much FREE!!:cheer2: So don't worry about budgeting for these, the system is still the same. Welcome home to all who have just returned, i think i liked P and P better than MNSSHP;)

You now have to buy fast passes for Universal/IOA unless you are staying onsite. I that what you heard?

It could be that through chinese whispers that got me worried. Hopefully in October it will be quiet enough so we won't need them.
Apologies for hijacking the thread by the way !

I left what we had for housekeeping, if she had done a better job I would have bought her Ghirridelli Choc:rotfl2:

Hi again and thanks for the replies :)
We went to P&P on the 21st and don't disagree about the chocolate, like eating play doh!!!
When that storm hit on the 24th we were at discovery cove, a little scary with all the water!
Just to confirm we didn't pay for any fast passes at Disney but did pay for the express at Universal, well worth it as we walked onto everything! Does anyone else feel guilty when you walk past all those people in the lines?!!!
One other tip, we paid 10 cents a gallon more for petrol on the 192 than the petrol station around world drive, think they're called Hess

How much are the Universal express passes?
The last time I went to Universal (years ago) the queues were terrible even though it was September and not very busy, I'd love to by-pass them! Do you buy them in advance or at the park? We're going next April.

Welcome home :)
We thought the P&P party was excellent.
We could have spent all night in Tomorrowland, there was so much to do there! All rides were a walk on and the weather was beautiful (August 28th). I'm very pleased we went. I have some photos if anyone would like to see them.

We used them this year in July and well worth the money in my opinion.
The April dates are not yet available, see Obi's link but keep checking as they have a certain amount to sell at differing price bands, obviously the cheapest go first.
Only downside is that you have to specify the exact dates when purchasing.
I'm surprised that more has not been mentioned as to how this scheme is so easily open to abuse. I'm not going into details for obvious reasons.

Never seen the need to buy Express passes at Uni/IOA. We get to parks early and use single rider lines when possible if regular lines are more than 10 mins. Last month we could have entered parks an hour early with AP's to ride some rides before regular admission didn't need to do this just went in at normal opening.
When we rode Men in black we did Single rider, no line. Regular line about 20people, express line right up the stairs, about 40-50 people
Can't you only use these tickets once on each ride?
Another option is to buy Universals very cheap AP's and get discounts to stay at Universal hotels, they include front of line access.
