Just got back from a week at OKW and didn't enter one of the parks, not once. We had a great, relaxing, no kids, week. We ate at great restaurants on the DDP (how do they expect us to eat all that food?). We travelled to many of the resorts we hadn't visited before (GF, AKL, CS, CB), drove around a little in our car to explore the roads. You know, we didn't realize how close so many things are to OKW. Disney is very clever with the layout. Going back and forth to DTD by foot or bus got old once we realized we were passing OKW over and over to get where we wanted to go. Once out of OKW by car we realized how close PO was so we went there later by car and visited both riverside and FQ.

Got a pedicure at SSR and a facial at GF. GF will be our next resort and then we'll stay at BWV. We plan to take the cruise but DH is a little concerned about all the talk surrounding "black tie" night. Dressing up is not what we like to do while on vacation.

All in all, this was a great vacation. I loved OKW but wouldn't want to be there without a car. We had a great room with the bus stop and ice machine right outside. A pool was just a block away. But getting to Olivia's or the Goods to Go store was too long a walk. My "neighbor" and I met up at the bus stop and she was using the internal transportation to get back and forth. Long waits for that bus but not one bus for the parks or DTD came longer than 5 or 10 min after we hit the bench.

I got to see the models for the studio and one bedroom at AKV. They are nice. Not as big as OKW but not as small as WLV. The decor is beautiful though. Once completed, we're looking forward to staying there.

Any questions about OKW let me know. I think we experienced it all. The food is good, the rooms are spacious, the view is spectacular, and the pool water was like a bath.

The facial was $125 but DVC members get a 10% discount. I added a 20% tip. the facial was excellent and the woman who worked with me was great.

:) Sounds like you had a great trip. My DH & I want to do the same thing once AKVs are completed and competition to reserve there isn't as great. We own at OKW and do love the quietness of the resort and, yes, we agree a car is a must. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks for the report Sounds like you had a nice time. I would love to check out all the Resorts sometime.I don't know if I could be that close and not do any parks though.

I started to get a little crazy as the monorail pulled into the MK. I really wanted to walk up Main St. But DH held strong and we stayed out of the parks. I won't do it again. It limited my dining options too.
