Hi everyone! Here is the sign-up thread for the AK Newbie Swap. If you had pm'd me ahead of time, I already have you in a group. Let me know if something isn't the way you want it.
This swap is a "newbie" swap in name, but anyone is welcome to join. My only request is PLEASE don't sign up for more than you can handle, and PLEASE do not flake. If you realize you need an angel (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), please let me know as soon as possible. It is not fair to the people who complete the swap for someone to just not do anything and not get an angel.
Ok, that said, here are the other rules.
1. Due date is October 18, 2007. That is when I need to receive your package. Mail by date is October 11, 2007, to make sure your package arrives to me. I will sort them the weekend of October 26, and send them back out. That is a FIRM deadline because that is my only open weekend to sort before the holidays.
NOTE: I will ask you to check in every TWO weeks (by posting a check-in by date in the thread title). If I haven't heard from you by October 1, I will send a pm to you. If the pm is not answered within 2 days, I will have to angel your spot.
Please pm me your name, DIS name, mailing address, email address and phone number when you sign up (I will only use these in an emergency).
2. You pick your topic when you sign-up. If you pm'd me ahead of time, please let me know what topic you would like (if you haven't already done so). This is to prevent duplicate topics within a group. Please let me know what your elements will be when you sign-up--you can change your mind later, if need be.
3. There will be 2 general (free-for-all) groups, 2 land groups, and 2 attractions groups. Please limit yourself to 2 groups when signing up. If we get to the end and we need to add another group or allow people more groups, I'll do that.
4. Required: You will make 2 elements from the list below for each person in your group. There will be 6 people per group so you can keep the production small per group.
5. Packing Instructions - use a Ziploc for each person and put everything for that person into their bag. Please label each bag with your name so we know who made each kit. You‘ll have 6 bags to enclose in the larger (gallon size) Ziploc bag. - be sure to include your name, your DIS name. On the larger Ziploc bag please put your mailing address on your bag and include return postage.
6. Mailing Instructions- Mail in Priority Mailer & include $4.60 for postage (stamps, cash, check) to return your items. Delivery Confirmation is $0.65.
Please don’t send metered or click-it/ship-it postage – some hostesses have had issues with these. On the outside of your box/envelope please include your DIS name and Swap name in the bottom corner!
7. PM me with your name and address if you haven’t swapped with me before. If you have problems and need to drop out or if an emergency happens (we all know things happen beyond our control sometimes), let me know so we can make arrangements for an angel or other help if needed.
8. Most importantly HAVE FUN!! I know we all get worried about our stuff sometimes. I know everything will be GREAT! Just make something you would be proud to have in your own albums, and everyone will love it!!

Please, no hand lettering on any items. You may use computer fonts, rub-ons, stamps, die cut letters, etc. Embellished means using brads, eyelets, charms, ribbon, 3D stickers (matted stickers are ok, too), clip art, or embossing. All elements should be double-matted and embellished unless otherwise noted!!

2 Journaling Boxes--minimum 3" x 4" space for writing
4 embellished squares--largest mat should be no larger than 2"
2 Photo Frames--for a 4 x 6 photo & the Sizzix dies are ok (you need to crop a bit from the photo to use these.) Two layers on the frame would make the photo seem double matted.
2 Photo Mats--for a 4 x 6 photo without cropping. Again, two layers as the photo sits on top of these.
2 Tags--no smaller than 2 x 3 and larger is fine; double matted PLUS fiber/ribbon and/or eyelet/brad in the hole.
2 Slide Mounts--cardstock or actual slide mounts; must be embellished but not double matted, and the Sizzix dies are fine
