Okay So I need some help with my choice of a story for a project. Now you are all going to think I am crazy.. but here I go.

So we have to do a project for english that intitles creating a shirt advertising a book that you would want to ' save or remember ' or that has left an 'impact' on your life.

Now many of the books I have read in the past have meant something or another to me at some point and time, but there are two stories I know the morals and aspects about, but have never read. It is scary to think the two books that I have never had the time or the chance to read have had a special place in my heart. I have however read a chapter here and there of each of these books, exerts, quotes.. ect.

Anyways.. The two books are...

1) Wicked

Which in my opinion is a wonderful book about friendship, betrayal, love, a corrupt society.. ect. Now i know your saying this is coming from a person who has never actually read it.. but I sware I KNOW this story.. Yes I have see the broadway musical, and yes I know the book is differen't and much darker plot.

2) Bridge To Terabithia

I picked this book up all the time when I was young, but never actually read it. For some reason it never appealed to me when I was younger. No books appealed to me until the 3rd of 4th grade truthfully. Yet now as I watch the movie and cry every time, I flip through the book and read bits and pieces, wilting at the amazing bond that friendship truly has. I LOVE this story.

See I told you that you'd all think I am nuts, but haven't you ever known a story by heart without ever reading a story through? It is like the message is concealed within you without flipping through every page.

This assignment is due by Sep. 14 and whatever book I chose I would read all the way through and actually get to enjoy reading it, as I have to pick out quotes for the t-shirt.

So... what do you think? :rotfl: :confused3

Your post really confused me. Do you want help picking out a book...or asking us if we've ever 'known' a book well without reading it.
Well I'll answer both
1) Bridge to Terabithia I read in 4th grade as required reading. It was awesome..but it's a kid book....Wicked on the other hand might be more of a challenge or more 'on your level' if you're a little older.
2) No I've never known a book really well without reading it

Hope ANY of that helped!

Sorry I had to write my post quickly because I was on my way out.
I was asking what book that others thought I should choose, even though I know the ultimate decision would be mine. Also this assignment doesn't require the book to be on your level, it could be a picture book if you wanted it to be. It is more about looking at the language and seeing what the word choice portrays making it important to you. I think I just answered my own question..

You haven't at all, i wrote it in an absurd way.
Hah.. in an interesting take on this somehow I have decided to do the Peter Pan Novel. It is another novel that is dear to me, that I suppose I hadn't really thought about, but I have actually read it. :rotfl: Plus.. any project that disney can be involved is obviously a plus right? Even though the novel itself isn't technically disney... the vibe is still there.

Yay i have it all planned out now. I am going to buy some fabric at the store tomorrow and make a tinkerbell looking 'dress' with the wings and write all my quotes on it. Woot I love when disney inspires me. Okay I am good now, I was very stressed about this project. I also have to write a 500-600 word paper on my favorite books throughout childhood and schooling and how they have influenced me which is what this t-shirt project branches off of. Sigh so many things to do and so little time in which to do them in.
