I don't know if anyone is still reading/lurking here, but two years on I just wanted to check in with those of you who are still impacted.

It's been three months since my last visit to the Gulf coast, but I have been to that area many times in the past two years, and realize that you all still have a very long way to go until life is 'normal' again. (Most likely longer than most of your countrymen/women realize - until one actually drives through that area and talks to people one doesn't realize the current state and scale)

Sending you best thoughts for a brighter future.......

Yes, thank you for your post! Today was a very difficult day for me and so many others- it is good to know that we are still being thought about. Things are still very far from being "normal" around here.

I send my thoughts as well.....and wish that the rebuilding of one of the greatest parts of out country would occupy some more time in our media and our minds

Also sending thoughts you all's way. We lived in Lousiana for two years and my dd was born there. We spent many fun times in New Orleans. When the hurricane happened my husband deployed for a month with the 82nd Abn to help bring back law and order there. The pictures he took while there saddened me and I always hope that the city and the people will be able to regain normal life back.

You are all in my thoughts and prayers, too.

Our DS moved to New Orleans after Katrina, so when we visit him, we see firsthand all that still needs to be done. Yours is a great city, and I wish the recovery was taking less time.
