I thought I would get a start on my t-shirts today and when I printed out the first design it looked awful. It looked perfect on the computer, but as it came out on the paper it is pixilated (sp) looking, not a clear picture at all.
Does anyone know what I need to do differently? I am doing about 30 shirts in total and was wanting to get started, but now I am afraid to print anything else out not knowing if they are all going to look this way.
This is how I made the first one... I opened a word document and inserted the picture, flipped it and printed it.

Guess I am bumping up my own thread with another question
I tried a few more and the same thing happens when I do a name and flip it. I once accidently forgot to flip a name and printed it and it came out perfectly :headache: Of course I can't use that one because it's not flipped :sad2:
I know I have seen other shirts using the same lettering/names I am using and they look great on the shirt. What am I doing wrong? I am using light transfer paper and you have to flip the imagine before printing, should I be using dark transfer paper and not flipping the names? I also printed a silly princess one after flipping and it is fine, so it only seems to be the names I am messing up. :scared:

I have no idea why this would be happening - but if you would like, you could send them to me
amy@amymickey.com
and I'll flip them and send them back and you can see if that fixes the problem. Just a thought.

Maybe I am an idiot here, I am starting to do my shirts, do we need to flip them when we print them?? I thought that the sticky was on the other side so you just printed it normally?!?!?

It depends on the type of transfers you are using. Check the instructions that came with the transfers. It will tell you whether you need to reverse the image.

Several of mine did this also - you have to resize your picture - when it is enlarged it shows the pixil look - just try re-sizing it and keeping printing on paper before you print it on your transfer paper
Hope that helped

Thank you again Amy! She offered to flip them for me and they are perfect now. I just need to get out and get the dark transfer paper and get started on those now. Thanks again for the advice and help :goodvibes

Wait!!...If you're going to print those on dark paper you usually don't use a flipped image. Good luck!
