I know this has probably been asked about 500 times on here, but I just wanted some opinions from this board.
When is the best time to go to WDW in October and November?
I was originally supposed to go in early September for my b-day, but had an unfortunate change of plans. I've been there during the last few days of November and there was almost nobody there, which I loved. When does it start getting crowded for Halloween/Thanksgiving?
Any ideas/opinions are greatly appreciated. :confused3

With the exception of the Not so Scarey events, Halloween is a non issue.
Thanksgiving starts getting busy the Wednesday before. If you can hold off till the week after Thanksgiving, it's dead, and the Christmas decorations are up.

I was at the Magic Kingdom on Christmas day and it was beautiful.....but the amount of people that were there was more than insane. It was literally hard to move.
I had some birthday things planned, but everyone copped out on me. :sad1:

October/November are the best months to visit WDW!
Why? The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, of course!
Don't miss it!

The last few days of November and first few days of December are great as far as crowds go. Last year when I went to the Magic Kingdom the longest line we waited in was about 20 minutes, which was for Winnie the Pooh. At Epcot there were no lines. Mission: Space literally had NO people in line, which enabled us to go on it again and again.....and Spaceship Earth had about 7 people. I thought something was wrong when we first got there because I had never seen like that.

We go in October pretty much all the time. We're going Oct 25th thru Nov 5th this year. We're usually there for halloween. The weather is great but the crowds are still around. specially for EPCOT F&W.

I agree with everyone...but be aware - there are NO rooms available anywhere on Oct 25 to 29....we had to scramble to get rooms at French Quarter. We are DVC and imagine my suprise when I was told NO SPACE AT ALL!!!!
there are a bunch of events that week, and the DVC cruise is getting back on the 25th.
The hard ticket events for F&W are mostly sold out as well.
We are planning on going to the Not So Scary (assuming we get tickets) on the 25th.
See you there!!

When you do come down, let us locals know. We all can meet up at the UK Pub and celebrate "Birthday Observed." When you show all your friends the pictures of the fun time you had, they won't cop out next trip! :cool1:

We always go during October or November, making sure to be there during the F&W festival. This year, since they extended the F&W dates, I'm lucky enough to get a couple of days of the Festival of the Masters at DTD too!! I've been dying to go to that and can't wait to check it out. :goodvibes
I don't think there are any *bad* dates during these months. Until the F&W festival ends, of course. ;) Oh, and you're pretty much out of luck if you expect to stay at any of the Epcot resorts without having your reservations about a year in advance. By this time I think you'd be lucky to find consecutive dates anywhere, though. We're really pushing the dates now, and the F&W is extremely popular.

Are most pools at the hotels heated in Oct? Can you swim at that time?
