Tinks Tiki Fest Tour – Day 3 More Vero 26th July

Thursday 26th July
We woke at 6am and this is when I discovered I’d been bitten by the dreaded Noseeums.
Definition: - Noseeums are nasty little bugs typically found near the ocean and around rivers, lakes, and swamps. Also known as biting midges, these tiny bugs can be as small as .04 inches long. It is the female that inflicts the nasty bite because she needs blood to complete her egg laying process. Consequently they go after any exposed skin,
I had about 50 -60 bites on each leg and a couple on my back and shoulders. They were very itchy and very attractive looking (not)
We had breakfast, DH and DD were out by half 6 to go on the beach and DS and I joined them at half 7. DH took a great photo of our room, which was the one on the left with the open balcony.

Same pattern as yesterday with ocean, pool, ocean. The waves were rougher today and one of them knocked DD off her feet and frightened her so she didn’t want to go back in the ocean anymore so she and I mostly stayed by the pool. We had lunch, which was re-heated pizza for DD and DH, I had a grill cheese kids meal which came with a bucket and spade for DD and it was chicken strips for DS. He and DH went back to the ocean and hired a boogie board. They had great fun and we all had a go, except DD. I realised that having spent an hour bobbing around in the ocean I felt seasick so I got out and went back to the pool with DD.
I called everyone in about half 1 and we chilled in the room. I went down to reception and had half an hour on the internet. We all got changed and went shopping again. First up was Target where DD got 3 Bratz reduced - including a Shrek one, and DH bought a USB Lava lamp for $2. Next up was Game Stop where we bought quite a few used Nintendo Nintendo games and a the height in sophistication - a drive though Starbucks.

I got a coffee for DH & I (the conventional way) while he and the kids bought some DS games. We then headed to the outlet Mall where we found a boogie board - a bit late for this trip but it fits in our biggest case so we can use it next time. We all had a TCBY Ice-cream and DD’s one made her tongue and mouth turn blue. The kids went into KB Toys and DS bought a great remote control car her wanted. Again we weren’t in serious shop mode and DS was hungry. He couldn’t be persuaded to go into Steak n Shake or Crackerbarrel so McDonalds it was :rolleyes: .
We got back to Vero at around 7 the kids were tired so we just chilled in the room and crashed at 9pm
