I need some suggestions as to how to spend the day in St. Maarten. I've pretty much decided to spend my day in St. Thomas at Coki Beach and Coki Beach Dive Club.
I'll have 2 girls (8 & 5) with me and I know they'll love Coki Beach and the kids snorkeling they can do.
Buy waht about St. Maarten. Show me some suggestions that you think would make their day. I'd also like to get in a couple hours of shopping on St. Martin. But help me out here . Should I just try and find another nice beach or what. Thx.:smooth:

DD9 and I had a great time on the Golden Eagle Catamaran. Fun ride over to an area where you can snorkel or just play on the beach. There's more information on this board somewhere, if the search was functioning. Maybe someone with some know-how can put in the link(s).

I also recommend the Golden Eagle on St Martin. We (me, DH, and DD7) were on the same excursion with MickeyMagic. There were about 30 DISers on that one and we had a BLAST! The crew is very good. You ride over to a beach and stop for about an hour to snorkel or just lounge on the beach. The ride back is as fun as most roller coaster rides!!! We were back at the ship around noon and had plenty of time to shop in St Martin in the afternoon.

Golden Eagle Catamaran all the way. Trust me it is wonderful and the crew was great! Oh yeah and the 30 other DISers on board were a riot! My girls talk about it all the time as one of there highlights of the trip.

We're booked on the 1:00 catamaran trip and are so excited since I've read about how much fun it is. Any suggestions of what to do in the morning???

We went on the Golden Eagle II and had a great time as well. The stop at the beach for an 8 and 5 yr old might be a problem. We dropped anchor in 15-20 ft of water and had to swim in with a pretty good surf. They would have to be pretty good swimmers to reach the beach or swim right around the boat. I don't know if this was normal or due to a good breeze.
Our's was also more 'adult' oriented. Plenty of drinks to go around, lots of free champagne flowing (and spraying) toward the end and the beach was topless. They would probably tone it down for a Disney cruise group.

We had quite a few children on our excursion. There are lifevests that small children MUST wear and snorkel vests for others to wear. They also have "noodles" that you can float on. I think you'll be okay unless your young ones cannot swim at all.

Also our excursion went to Mullet Bay instead of Tintmarrie so that may have a diffence in the current and waves.

Like MickeyMagic said the crew required ALL of the children to wear a like jacket. My DD7 is not a very good swimmer but she made it to shore just fine. The beach at Mullet Bay was topless although I only noticed 2 or 3. I don't think DD even noticed any at all - at least she didn't say anything and she would.
