As a matter of fact, DU has a promo going on starting Feb 7 and going on for about a week. Rebate and on-board credit. Good luck.

Does anyone know if the ship board credit applies to a transfered reservation.

Ship board credit offer applies only to reservations where the reservation has been booked and the deposit has been paid between February 7, 2002 and February 14, 2002 and cannot be applied toward any active reservation booked through Dreams Unlimited Travel prior to February 7, 2002.

What if the reservation wasn't booked thru DU, it was booked thru DCL.

The way I am reading it the deposit neds to be paid during those dates. You could always cancel and rebook with DU, but I might be misunderstanding. Michelle, are you out there? I'm sure you would know for sure.

That's correct, Gretel. :)
Gduvall, Disney is very strict on these special credits and both the original BOOKING and the deposit must be made during the one-week promotional period. If you made your cruise resevation recently then the pricing may not have changed, so rebooking it would be a great idea. You can submit a no-obligation price request with Dreams to find out for sure if that would make sense for you. :)
Also just FYI, the following blackout dates apply for the credit:
· 2002 Disney Magic Sailings 3/30, 11/23, 12/21, 12/28
· 2002 Disney Wonder Sailings 3/28, 3/31, 11/28, 12/22, 12/26, 12/29
· 2003 Disney Magic Salings 4/12, 5/24, 7/5, 8/30, 11/22, 12/20
· 2003 Disney Wonder Salilings 4/17, 5/25, 7/3, 8/31, 11/27, 12/28
As for the REBATE, you would be eligible for that if you transferred your cruise to Dreams, with no restrictions other than your total cruise cost needs to be more than $1,000 to be eligible for a rebate.
Hope that helps! :)

Thanks for the info Michelle, but since I have a secret porthole room already booked, I'll just keep what I have. Thanks again for the information. I know I can still transfer for the DU rebate, which I'll do at a later date.

What happened to the on board credit? I booked through Dreams and when I would bring up my account it said I had a $75 on board credit and $150 rebate. I booked about a year ago and am going in June 2002. It no longer says anything about the on board credit. What happened to it? Anyone else experience this or am I worring about nothing. I haven't had a chance to email my TA from dreams. I plan on emailing her later today-don't have her email at work. ?????

Hi caskar! Not to worry, your credit is still there. It was a systems glitch that cause the amount not to show up, but that has been fixed and the amount should show now.
If anyone else sees a similar problem please e-mail your Dreams agent or webmaster@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com and it will be fixed for you. :)

If you cancelled your current reservation with DU, and got a new reservation, what would happen with the trip insurance? Last year when I went to WDW and made a reservation through the WD company, I saw a better deal on this board and went to transfer it, they said I could do that, BUT not the trip insurance. Does anyone know the answer to this?

Stepherella, if you booked with DCL and you are outside of 60 days prior to your sailing date, you would get a full refund of your deposit, including the insurance. I'm not sure how it would work with other travel insurers; you would need to check with the insurer regarding their policy. I would think that if you are merely re-booking the same cruise at the same price then the insurance policy would be in effect with no change, but you would need to verify that.
Hope that helps! :)

Thanks, that is helpful. I booked originally through Dreams unlimited. What I want to do is cancel, then rebook to get the discounts. I just wanted to make sure that the travel insurance could also be cancelled, otherwise it wouldn't be worth the savings. Thanks for any clarifications.

It depends which category you book. I don't remember the exact amounts, but if you go to the cruise reservations site at the top of the page you can view them.
