Dopey - 45 yr old single Mom to Sleepy, annual DW trip since Sleepy was 4
Doc - celebrating 40th birthday, my SO, 5th trip
Sleepy - my 17 year old son
Happy - 18, Sleepy's girlfriend, 3rd trip

Day 1, Wed 2/14
20 degrees in Vermont, 80 degrees in Orlando
The alarm went off early ... 4:30 am, but no time to lie in bed & groan. We're going to Disney World! I jumped in the shower, then woke up Sleepy, called Doc, and Happy called Sleepy to make sure we were up. Sleepy & I headed to Doc's to get him first. We weren't gone long when Sleepy realized he'd forgotten something sort-of important: his money! OK, we'd have to go back. We picked up Doc, then Happy, then headed back home. Sleepy got his money & we were off to Hartford, CT.

We got to Hartford in plenty of time. Doc drove while the kids slept the entire time, and I slept most of the time. Our flight took off at 10:35 - on time, and landed in Charlotte for our one-hour layover. We were off again at 1:35, and landed in Orlando around 3. We got our luggage & met up with our driver from Murray Hill Transportation which I read about on the DIS. The driver was very nice, & before we knew it we were home - Old Key West.

Check in went smoothly with a very nice lady waiting on us. Sleepy & Happy went & sat in the library on a nice comfy couch. Doc went to the Men's Room, which was a good thing for me, because I had to arrange to leave a room key for Jane from Gifts of a Lifetime for Friday morning. I had set up 2 events: one was a graduation event for the kids; the other a 40th birthday event for Doc.

Our room was ready, so we were off to Miller's Road, (just as I'd requested), building 18, rooms 1816 & 1823. Old Key West has no adjoining studios so I wasn't sure how this would work out. We had the 2 studios for the next 2 nights, then we would have 1 studio for Friday & Saturday, then we would be back in 2 studios for the last 5 nights. As it turned out, we missed being all together; so I called & put us on a waiting list for a 1 bedroom, which would give us more space & keep us together. Then we all decided that if the 1 bedroom didn't become available, we could all share 1 studio, so I cancelled the last 5 nights in the 2nd studio.

OK, we were here, time to change into shorts! Where to first? Doc & I decided to have nachos at Good's To Go, along with a couple of beers. It was a beautiful day & we sat enjoying the sunshine relaxing. The kids had immediately headed off for a bus to Downtown Disney, to then transfer to a Contemporary bus, because they had priority seating for Chef Mickey's for Valentine's Day. That was Sleepy's surprise for Happy. They told us later they had a great time, & Happy got to see Donald Duck - one of her favorites. They tried to catch the Magic Kingdom fireworks, but their waiter told them that it was frowned upon, so Sleepy didn't push it.

After Doc & I finished our nachos, we decided to take that beautiful boat ride to Downtown Disney. When we got there, we looked around in a few shops & browsed. We then decided to take the boat back, & once again enjoyed that. We picked up some groceries at the General Store, & headed to our rooms. The kids came in a while later, having also gone to Downtown Disney. It was time for bed.

Tomorrow: a great, fun day at Epcot

Thanks so much both of you for reading my report. And it's true -- we do have great memories of Disney. I'm so glad I made that first trip when my son was 4... because we caught the fever! ;)
