Okay. I admit it. It was a momentary lapse in judgment. I did run the red light while making that left hand turn. :moped:

And for that I got pulled over by FHP, got to take an on-line traffic school, pay the state $187 and drive 30 miles to the Osceola County Courthouse. :car: I paid my debt (literally) to society.

But while there, I experienced a few things I thought were rather odd.

1) The lady in front of me was upset the Court would not process any of her paperwork unless she paid her fine.
"You mean I have to come back," she asks?
"You will have to either way," says the clerk.
"But can't you just process this and I will bring a check in tomorrow?"
"We do take credit cards."
"Mine was cancelled for late payments."

And you wonder why they won't just process your paperwork.

2) I had the foresight to bring a check book. I handed over the check and my driver's license as proof of ID. The clerk says, "Oh, we don't need that. We already know everything about you."

Enough said there.

3) The man at the end of the counter...
"Sir, this is the traffic court, we don't process the court ordered child support payments."

He literally shouts at the poor woman, "Why not, she got the car too!"

Ah... fields trips. More fun now that I'm an adult.

Funny -- bu scary at the same time...:scared:

I've had to sit on the Group W Bench with three different kids -- all to get something fairly minor dismissed so our insurance wouldn't escalate to the stratosphere. It IS amazing some of the things you see and over-hear...

I got to pull Jury Duty in Osceola County once.

Entertaining to say the least!

Take a hefty dose of old Orange grove farmers, throw in some Spanish speaking folks, add some Disney employees for fun, and mix with a cocaine case! Bake till golden and bubbly!

YUM!

After a break-in at our office, they made each of us go to a combination Sherriff's Station/Fire Station in Poinciana to be interviewed by the Osceola Sherriff Detective assigned to our case. (At least there were cute firemen to look at while I waited)

The detective asked me if I was nervous.

My response: "I'm a gay guy in a rural sherriff's office in the SOUTH. Yeah, I'm nervous."

:lmao: Thank god he laughed.

(Couldn't help it) Habitual offender?

(Some contemporary music history needed) Littering?
