Trying to coordinate a trip for next year combining a couple weeks at the Fort and then hitting Hilton Head on the way back. I'd LOVE to stay at the disney resort since i have my points there, but there is no place to park the RV while staying there, which is a shame. Shelter Cove mall parking is big but they will tow you away. Doesn't look like there's any KOAs on the island either. HH Island isn't very RV friendly!

Doing a search I found 2 RV Resorts on HH.

Check out the reviews of them on http://rvparkreviews.com/ Look under S. Carolina, then Hilton Head Island.:thumbsup2

Another option in that vicinity might be to stay on Jekyll Island Ga. Very laid back SP with beautiful sand beach nearby. Not quite the upscale community as Hilton Head but its easier on the wallet.

Donna:
A few years ago on our way back from WDW we stopped at Hilton Head Harbor Resort and it is very nice. We had a site right on the water, near to the swimming pool and restaurant but it really wasn't very busy as it was before Memorial Day weekend. Most of the sites are owned and the front desk person said that if we would've tried to book a day later we wouldn't have gotten a site as they were booked solid.
Quiet resort when we went and since I didn't want to cook we opted to go to a nearby Outback Restaurant.
This resort is before you get into all the traffic and Island congestion so we liked it.
Hope this helps.

thanks, i never thought of that. I know 278 can be awful to deal with. I just read every single review on that review site (thanks for that!) and i am torn as to which is better. We kind of like only having the beach a mile away (same as it is at the disney resort) and also having the bike trail right there. However, at the HH Harbour Resort & Marina, you have the fishing, waverunners and more of the low country feel to it, more like the disney resort. The rates are very reasonable and similar.
Thanks again for everyone's help. I am glad to find out there's something there on the island for RVers!

Donna, check on Outdoor Resorts at Hilton Head. We stayed there last year for a couple of days on the way back from FL. Reasonably priced, very clean, friendly people, and closer to the ocean than the Hilton Head Harbor Resort.

I don't know if you have your heart set on HH or not. If not, Hunting Island SP is beautiful and just outside of Beaufort. Of course it does not have the resort like amenities, but it is naturally beautiful...and on the ocean. Further north is James Island County Park near Charleston. We love this park it has full HU, miles of bike trails, marsh access, a water park, a dog park, and shuttle service to DT Charleston and Folly Beach. Both of these parks are family favorites. Good Luck planning.
