Hello everyone, we just got back from our 1/26 cruise on magic...It was our first cruise ever and it was great. There were 3 things that i didn't pack that i thought might help fellow cruises.

1. Bathroom Airfreshner- although the cabin is bigger than we expected, it still is close quaters, also we have the V & D Virsus when we were on board and we really needed it, by the end of the week, the bathroom was smelly......enough said!

2. Small amount of cleaner...fantastic, windex, or the clorox disninfecting wipes. My 4 year old as she was sick made it to the bathroom but she's 4. I really didn't want housekeeping to have to come clean up after my daughter,so i called to get some cleaner and they told me they had to clean it up...they could not give me any cleaners.......So after the 3rd time with my daughter and having to call housekeeping again.....I was sorry i didn't think of any kind of cleaner. Believe me the crew was great about coming and cleaning it up......but i would have just rather done it myself.

3. Clock for the room, there was no clock in the room and i like to know what time it is at night and my watch is just to small to see in the dark. Plus there were times we were in the pool i took my watch off, we went back to the room sat on the verranda and then i had to go looking for my watch to find out what time it was, it would have been easiler to have a clock by the bed.

Well hope this help!

Thanks for the tips!

I always stop someplace and pick up a can of air freshener when I get to where I am traveling to (I don't pack it in my luggage on the plane, aerosal and pressure don't always agree with each other!).

I know what you mean about wiching that you had something to clean up with. I recall several times staying in a villa at the BW and wishing that I had something to clean my sons toothpaste "dinner mints" out of the sink with.

Great tip about the travel alarm, I didn't know there weren't clocks int he room. I'm a major "clock watcher" and can wake up several times during the night to look at the time.

Glad you had a good trip, sorry your kid was sick :(

Bath and Body Works makes some GREAT air fresheners..they are in a very small spray can and are very concentrated...they cost $5, and it worked wonderfully on our cruise when needed. The one little spray can will last you forever, and there are so many really nice scents to pick from!

I've also heard of people using those plug-in air fresheners.

We swore that we wouldn't cruise again without some sort of air freshener after our first 7-day cruise (5 people sharing a Cat4 cabin). So I was surprised to find that my DW didn't pack any. Her reasoning was that we had two cabins this time (Cat10), hence two bathrooms. No need to "freshen", just use the other bathroom until the ventilation system took care of the rest. When we cruise again, we WILL be taking some form of air freshener. I like the idea of plugins.

I had thought about taking a small clipon fan to stir the air in the cabin a bit. But we didn't do that either.

Great list Marianne.

Thanx for the tips...I agree, gotta have the room air freshners, plus I like to pack I like Lysol. Also don't go far w/o my little bottle of antibacterial hand sanitizer for those times I'm not near a bathroom to wash up.
