So I'd like to know how many of you have actually been a CM at Disney. Where did you work and what did you do?

I never was, but had a college roomie who did the CP at Animal Kingdom. I asked her when she thought the very best time of year to visit would be considering crowds, weather, etc. She thought about it and decided October would be great. I think that, now that I think about it, my desire to take this upcoming trip was very much influenced by that roommate.

So tell me, did you ever work at Disney? popcorn::

Yep! I worked at Mission Space just after it opened in 2003. I lasted 1 month! (Too much "ralphing" going on then - LOL)

I've been toying around with the idea of working part time in merchandising just so I can get the perks! (The pay would only cover my commute!)

Yes, I used to work at MGM (back in 1993-1994), I sold ice cream right outside the Chinese theatre. In fact, the cart I worked at is still in the exact same place, it's just to the left of the theatre if you're looking at it from the front. It was a nice one, not just a small cart, lots of shade from the trees.

This is back when you still had to wear all polyester, and I worked there during the summer months. Ugh, sometimes it could get so hot. At least when you sell ice cream you get a blast of cool air every once in a while when you open the freezer.

I also worked for the Disney Store for 2 years when I was trying to decide what career path to take (this was about 11-12 years ago). That was a great job, good people, lots of fun, and we got full Disney discounts (back then at least). I mainly worked there for the discounts, I frequently got 50% off on hotel rooms, plus free admission for me and a guest.

I still have my nametags, those were good times. Of course, I'm much happier being an engineer, but I'll always look back on those times as really fun times.

Disney Store CM, would love to work at the world, but the commute is a little too far. Maybe someday, my Dsis and I always talk about it.

I worked at the Disney Reservation Center in Tampa from Oct 1997 until December 1999. And DS21 will be starting his training there on Sept 8.

Hey Colson,

Probably saw you there!!! I was at MGM from 89-96. Was a merchandise lead in Main Entrance most of the time, with maybe a year in the backlot area. :woohoo:

Ice Cream cart vs. Stollers???? Both pretty miserable in July/August....

Attended UCF while at WDW and left in '96 to be an engineer...it indeed is a "Small World". A girl in my office (in South Carolina) was CP and worked outdoor foods while I was there.

It was tons-o-fun and some days, I rather....
