I just read somewhere that the hotels do not like people faxing requests about their rooms, that the request box on the original form is sufficient. I have read here in the past that it was best to fax a reminder of loop requests a few days before going down. Has this changed? Any opinions?

A few years ago Disney announced that the resorts were no longer accepting faxes for room requests. Since it didn't seem to directly apply to FW, I continued faxing in a friendly letter a day before we left. I have only once not gotten the loop I requested (I never request a site, since they won't even guarantee a loop request and I don't want to seem too demanding). The last time I checked in (last October) my fax was paper clipped to my paperwork at the Outpost.

Groovy! I thought you were who I wanted to talk to. :) You're a dis camping board guru. LOL.
I wouldn't request a certain site I actually want to request loop 100 or 200, with 2nd choice 400 or the top half of 700. Do those sound like decent walking from the marina area?

For what it's worth, the last 5 years, we have gotten the loop we requested 4 times. :thumbsup2 The year we didn't, the loop was closed for refurb. We don't fax before we get there, just make the initial request when we make the reservation. Maybe we're just lucky.:confused3 The loops you mentioned are an easy walk. The 400 is a bit further though. As far as walking goes, we walk from the meadows to the settlement all the time. If you stay close to the marina, you are further from the activities like the campfire, bingo, crafts, pool etc.

We always ask for our loop request in our reservation and have never faxed anything, we have been to FW 10 times and have always gotten our request.
