Hi! We got back on Friday from 12 nights at OKW. Everything was wonderful. No rain and 80 the whole time! We had a two bedroom (#3712) and things were great. We requested a first floor and non smoking, both for medical reasons and we received both. We also requested to be near the HH. We were way too far away for my 71 year old mom to walk. We (dh, dc, and myself) were able to walk it without a problem, though.

I thought the resort seemed rather busy just based on the amount of cars in the parking lot. However, the pools and restaurants @ OKW were never crowded.

This was our first trip in the month of January. I am not sure if it was because of 9-11, the time of the year or a combination of the two but the parks were dead. Although we had never been in January, we have been in other low seasons. We have done September, October, November and early December. I have never seen the parks this empty. It was almost sad. Every single ride was either walk right on or a 5 minute wait max. We did not do any parks on Friday or Saturday, however.

We didn't make any PS ressies and we were seated right away in every restaurant we went to. At 1900 Park Fare, we were one of 6 families in the entire restaurant. We were actually getting tired of the characters coming over to our table!

Great trip, no complaints but I do hope things pick up in the next few months.

Lisa

glad you have a great trip.

I have heard before that January is probably the slowest month in the year. Oh well another 15 years and maybe I can go at that time.

Loved OKW -- our first trip there as DVC members -- had 7 wonderful nights - first night with a magical surprise from my DH - beautiful floral arrangement with the 100 years of magic vase -- then on to the Disney Wonder for 4/3 -- flew back to Chicago on 1/31 -- can't wait to go back to WDW
