Have a canon 300d (digital rebel) and a canon hv20 camcorder. Looking to buy some batteries in the next few weeks. I've found sterlingtek.com, bestbatt.com . Anyone purchased from either of these? Or where have you purchased batteries from?
The 300d uses the bp-511 and the camcorder uses the bp-2l series.

I get my batteries from batteries.com and have not been disappointed yet. I have purchase laptop, everyday, and rechargable camera batteries (for an old S-20).
After I bought my camera I had picked up a 'starter kit' from egghead.com for about $50 which included Canon battery, Canon camera bag, and a Canon UV filter.

Try www.sterlingtek.com (http://www.sterlingtek.com)
They have a very good reputation for 3rd party batteries - I've used one with my 20D for about 18 months with no complaints. It actually holds a charge better than the original Canon battery.

I get my batteries from Canon. They have all the proper protection circuitry in them, others may or may not and the only way to tell is to take them apart.

I get mine from:
www.thomasdistributing.com
The brand is: Power Ex
They seems to hold a charge for a long time and I even have my original set that I purchased in 2003! I always get a new set right before our first trip of the year.

I second the sterlingtek link. I've gotten a number of batteries from them and have had no issues thus far. Some I bought 2 or 3 years ago I believe. Others more recently.

another vote for sterlingtek! I bought extra battery there for my Rebel XT over a year ago, use it all the time, no problems, don't notice any difference from my canon battery!:thumbsup2
