I told our guide to sign us up for BCV today. What is the whole process now and how long will it take before I am an actual member?

hi: after you fed-ex your paperwork back, it takes about 4 weeks unless they are extremely busy.

We are just a week ahead of that. So if it will be 3 weeks yet, does that mean it will be too late to get a room at VWL for one week-night in mid-May? We may be in FL then and would like to stay there on my birthday. We bought without ever seeing it...

Are you saying I won't be able to make a reservation until 4 weeks after I send back my paperwork? My concern would be then I won't be able to make a reservation until after the magical March 6th date. (The first date to make a BCV reservation)

I added on additional points to my VWL membership on 1/24, and was told that I could begin using them on 2/24.

You should get DVC number and your temp DVC cards with all your initial paperwork. That will take 2-5 days to arrive. If your not financing and paying cash or credit card, it goes rather quick. DVC waits 15 days from the date you sign your contract before closing. Closing will usually occur on the wednesday following your 15 day waiting period. Then in 2-3 weeks you'll get your official plastic DVC card.

If I remember, the guide book and canvas bag arrived after we sent our signed documents back in.

We also signed up today for BCV add-on, so we'll race you to closing.......Johnnie

Once you make your deposit, you will be able to make a reservation using your membership number. You will have to close before you can stay at BCV (closing will happen in June). You will be all set on March 6, 2002, 7:58am to begin redialing to MS. ;)

Thanks Johnnie. I hope you get through right after me! ;) ;) Just to clairify that time. I am on the same time as florida, so I would start calling at 8:58 right?

You are correct---8:58am. However, you may want to set your redial the night before and sleep with you finger on the redial button. Also, have your cell phone charged in case there is a thunderstorm and a tree limb brings down the phone lines.;) ;)

Thanks again for the tips, maybe I will have my husband try on his cell phone while I try on the home phone, kind of like I do when I am making reservations for Cinderellas Royal Table Character Breakfast. Hopefully I can find the number for MS in the packet they send me, otherwise I will be posting asking for the number.

My wife and I did the tag team thing for our last reservation as we were booking a GV at HH. It ended up that we got through to MS at the same time, and were trying to book simultaneously. The computers at MS showed that both of us were trying to access our membership number, otherwise we would have double booked. I think we're not the 1st members to try the double dialing thing.:D

Call me nutty, but I would think this would NOT be a good idea. Essentially it creates one more person you're "competing against" for the phone line. Whether it's your spouse or someone else, it just makes for more people trying to get through on the limited number of lines. I guess technically it gives you two shots, but if everyone does that it just makes for twice the traffic on the lines.

Just my 2 cents...
