Day 2
We are up and out the door early. Thursday they predict p.m. thundershowers and my MIL is deathly afraid of them. We figure the MK is the worst in the rain due to poor drainage so weâll go there today. The weather report says rain the rest of the weekend so we need to get it out of the way before it rains too much. Off we go by bus with a couple of ponchoâs in the backpack. We start with Pirates and the HM. Then on to SW. We shop at the Castle and then back track to Harbor House for some lunch. We are early as they need to eat at 11. Lunch at 11, supper at 4, grrrrrrrrrr. Food is great as usual. Crowds are starting to pick up but we have rented dad a EV so he is keeping up just fine. MIL is much better than he and more determined to see as much as she can. As we are about to exit Harbor House, we find it has started to rain and I mean bucket fulls! So we stay put. There are benches so he have a seat to ride out the storm. We send the kids to purchase more ponchos so weâll all be covered. While waiting, we see Dad nod off. Someone comes over to change the trash and makes noise and wakes him up. âDo they have to make so much noise in here?â We crack up and remind him that we are in a restaurant not his room. Well, at least he got in a few Zâs!
When the rain finally gets a little better off we trudge to Main St. to do a little shopping before we go back. We hear a siren and find it odd to hear that in the MK. Everyone is wet and tired so weâll head back to have a nap and regroup. Around 5 we decide to go to DD as itâs still raining but weâre tired of being in the room. Weâll cover up and head out the door. Everyone is coming even tho weâve heard that siren was a tent that was struck by lightning in back of the MK. Some CMâs were hurt in the process. My MIL who is so afraid, has decided sheâd brave the elements rather than stay in the room. A really big deal for her! Also, weâve heard that tornadoes had touched down in the area damaging homes. We grab the bus for DD and start our shopping. We stop for a snack at the Gourmet Pantry â itâs late by my parents standards but they are making the best of it. They have good sandwiches and salads and decent prices. After a few stops and the final one at World of Disney we go back âhomeâ for the night. We pray that it will be better tomorrow and least a less intense rain.
