Whats your favorite thing to bring in you backpack to the park? I'm making my sister a backpack filled with goodies for her birthday.
She is a single parent of a 3 year old daughter. My son (7) and I are sharing a room with them.

Be more specific...

Do you mean necessities or things you just like to have with you in your backpack?

If you're going in December ( I think that's when you're going from your sig) how about a new sweatshirt?

maybe a book of hidden mickeys?

You can get the Hidden Mickey book at any bookstore. You might like things like granola bars, pennies and quarters for the pressed coin machines, an autograph book and thick pen, and maybe a disposable camera.

The disposable camera is a GREAT idea, especially for kids! We gave each of the girls (ages 5 & 7) a disposable camera last summer while at WDW and let them take whatever photos they thought they would like to have for their memory books. The photos that they took were priceless! One of the best (that I personally would have never thought of taking) is of Cinderella's glass slippers! A close up that came out very good! Another was of the Fairy Godmothers wand. Kids think of the darndest things to take photos of!

I read the cutest idea on this board a few months ago. You can go to the store and buy one of those small princess calendars and have the princesses sign their month. Then you will have their autograph on their picture that you can use for something such as scrapbooking.

A poncho? I don't know how rainy it is in January, but it couldn't hurt!

I always take a granola bar or two, gum and a fruit roll up or two for DD.

The disposable camera idea was great.

Also, consider:

- extra batteries and memory card if you're bringing a digital camera
- baby powder (if it's hot) or a small sprayer of her favorite perfume (to feel refreshed as the day goes on)
- Disney dollars
- extra socks, bandaids, moleskin to keep away the blisters
- an index card or small sheet with your ADR confirmations or other key info.

Have fun!

Ooh, one more...since it's her birthday, a birthday card! Maybe you can even get the characters to sign the card.

I think they also give out Birthday buttons at Guest Services (maybe someone else can confirm the location).

Wet ones - great for wiping little hands after rides or when they have touched everything!
A Poncho - we used ours last January to cover the rental stroller so the girls did not get wet.
Snacks - gummy snacks, granola bars, tic-tacs, or the those powders that you can use to flavor water.
An autograph book with a cute pen.
