Has Anyone Ever Made A Mickey Wreath Out Of The Green Christmas Wreaths? Using Three, One For The Head And Two For Ears. What Size Wreaths Do You Use? Having A Hard Time Finding The Right Proportions.

What I did for the proportions is to use a wreath for the head, and garland for the ears. I couldn't find the right size small wreaths for the ears, so I took the garland, made circles but doubled them, then tied them together with green floral wire.

What a fab idea! I was just going to get the styrofoam wreaths in 2 different sizes and then wire them together and decorate with ornaments....hmmmm....

I made it a couple of years ago. It's actually the first (and only!) one I've made!

WHAT DID YOU USE TO MAKE YOURS, GARLAND OR DID YOU BUY TWO DIFFERENT SIZE WREATHS. YOURS LOOKS VERY GOOD

I used garland for the ears b/c the small wreaths made mickey look too disproportionate...and thanks! :)

OK!

I did one last year and found both grapevine wreath sizes at Wal-Mart, though sadly I can't remember their exact dimensions right now. The pine cones are mostly real ones gathered around my parents' house, and the berries are fake (duh)...I think I got them at Hobby Lobby, as well as the garland.

Oh, and no one asked, but you might want to be sure to lash the ears to the head pretty well and consider stabilizing them some other way, too...I ended up using short sticks, hot-gluing one end into the head (woven between pieces of vine) and the other end into the ear. I used 2 sticks for each ear, and it's held up pretty well. I've got orders for 2 more this season. :)

ETA: Sheesh, I meant to post a pic, too.

ETA again: It's at a bit of an angle, which is why 1 ear looks bigger than the other. :)
