Are there any beaches close to where you dock in St. Martin. Also has anyone rented a Jeep on St. John to explore on your own. Were there any problems?

It is easy to rent a jeep at St. John and a terrific idea! There are a few rental places on the island, near the dock in Cruz Bay. I think one is affiliated with Avis. The island is relatively small, and even though they drive on the left, it is slow because it is hilly. The roads are really nice because most of the island is National Park maintained.

I have also read on these boards about people renting a car on St. Tnomas and taking the car ferry to St. John. This could be worth considering. Good luck!
