Wendy, I called CA's and the guy I talked to told me to fill out the form online! He explained it to me over the phone and confirmed that the time I wanted was available... but I had to turn in the online form anyways.

I LOVE the monogram on your program. I know we're all talking about how great the big ribbon is (which it really is), but the monogram is FANTASTIC. Seriously. I keep looking at it. Did you design it or did you borrow it?

well since my sister caryn has taken a small break from blogging, i feel it is my job as a sister/maid to keep you all updated as best i can as my sister is incredibly busy with a new job (we hope), the holidays, her trip home (WOOHOO), and the wedding. As of today (friday), my sister lindsay and i are going for our fitting on saturday. it is a bit wierd that we are going at the same time on the same day because lindsay lives in florida and i in NJ. She and i have spoken about our park hopper passes and hotel reservations. Lindsay is very disney savvy because she worked in disney in college. I choose to study abroad in europe during my college career so im not as disney savvy so its great having her around for all the need be info such as how to get on that bus from the airport to the hotel. Lindsay is just filled with useful info. I am going to get my dress fitted and then im goign to either vacuum seal it and put it in my suitcases ooooor i am goign to just use that as my carry on for the plane. We cant have me loosing my dress (my sister would have a caronary). So, i know that caryn is workign hard on teh programs and the small details. im almost positive that when she comes home to nj for the holidays she and my parents will be working on place settings and some mroe final details. Well i need to head off to the mall. I hope that this helps you all a tiny bit with caryns details as i said she is very busy with life and details. Hopefully things will calm down for caryn soon and she will com back with details of her own. Happy Holidays All and congratulations on your upcoming weddings!!!!! :santa:

hi girls! i'm back!!! thank for the well wishes and all who are worrying about me!!! i didn't realize it had been so long since i posted!!!
megan, thanks for updating everyone, you know how i get during the holidays, i really appreciate you taking the time!
i was sick from just after thanksgiving to the begining of this week, i didn't have a voice at all and i was just miserable. on top of that, i have been super busy hosting dinner parties for mark's business associates. i get voted for this fine duty since i'm not employed...on that subject, no job yet! i don't want to start anything before the wedding. i do have a very very very very very important interview on january 9th though, so we'll see how that goes. i'm in a career transition, my experience is in high volume real estate sales and it's just not the time to go back into that industry. several of my friends were fired/laid off this week. no one deserves to lose their job 2 weeks before christmas, so it's a very sad time. also, with all the builders filing for chapter 11, i'm not inspired at all to go back to work...so i need to figure out what i want to do when i grow up...
as far as wedding planning goes...i have been scouring every single michaels in the houston metropolitan area for a tinkerbell stamp (FOUND IT!) and i have been depleting their supplies of the beaded wire i need for the rest of my menus. i have had to drive 30 miles outside the city (making mark crazy) to find this wire. i still need 10 rolls...once i find it (going on another beaded wire search this afternoon) i'm going to lock myself in the house and finish all of my wedding crafts. we go to nj in 2 weeks, the goal is to have it ALL done before then so that i can start packing after the holidays.
i finally bought earrings, i adore them, they remind me of fake harry winston's. they're not canaries, but all white and i love them so much! i'm going jewelry shopping this afternoon as well, i'm hoping to find a fabulous bracelet...
my best friend is going with me tomorrow to get my dress altered. the seamstress said they should have it done in 2 days for me to have a fitting, then i should get it within a week! as far as CA's is concerned, i have decided NOT to ship it to them. i would be a nervous wreck waiting for it to get there, then waiting for it to get to the hotel, i need it to be with me at all times. when the dress was shipped to me, they packed it so well that it fit into a box much smaller than a carry on, so that's what i'm going to do. it's going to have to be steamed anyway, so i might as well have it with me at all times. in my carry on i'm going to put my dress, both pairs of shoes, jewelry, handbag and veil (cage). i'll pack the crinnies, hoop skirt, fur wrap and other veils to check. the good thing about southwest is that they allow each person 3 checked bags, so i'll be able to bring everything with us, i won't have to ship anything. i'm going to make a sign for my carry on stating that this is my bridal gown and to STAY AWAY.
mark still does not have a darned thing to wear. i told him he has 1 week from yesterday to pick something out or he does not get my help and can walk down the aisle in his underwear. he's such a BOY. he hates suits and is dreading the "process." i told him that i would buy it for him, but he thinks i'll spend too much money (true). hopefully we can go out this weekend to get something...my dad and his dad already have their suits but mark doesn't :rolleyes1 .
our room block is done. we have 54 rooms booked so far and we only needed 50 :cheer2: ! i still have a bunch of rsvp's i'm waiting for, which is annoying. and what is up with people asking to be invited to your wedding? we had dinner last night with a few people that i used to work with and i haven't seen this girl or talked to her in 6 months and she asked if she could come??? people just don't get it. mark actually said yes to someone, which is fine, but he's been fielding requests all week. HELLO-read emily post people!!!
what happens when your room block fills up? does that mean that the wedding hotel discount is gone? or is it based on availability?
other than the above (which is a lot of info), i haven't really started christmas shopping yet...no tree yet...too much to do! wish me luck on my shopping quests today! i'll post pics if i get jewelry!

It's good to hear that you're okay. Sounds like you've been busy. But you've got a plan and that's always good. DF is pushing his tux fitting back, but that's b/c he's losing weight! He's lost almost 20 and he wants to lose 15 more! But when we were actually looking for a style, I ended up having to do it on my own and present him with the options. Such a Boy. You'll have to just pick a suit for Mark. Otherwise he'll wait until the last minute and still come up empty handed! Ugh, BOYS! I love that you're going to have a stay away from me sign for your carry on. "don't mess with me or I'll mess you up!" Perfect!!

Caryn, I'm glad you're back!!! are you in the Christmas mood yet? :santa: I dont have my tree up yet either. Our porch is filled with wedding stuff so I'm thinking of putting it in our room! although DF doesnt know this yet ;)
after your block is filled, the wedding discounts are based on availability. i have way more people booked in POR and WL than i had room for in my block. btw.. i still have ALL my ASM and BC rooms available if you need any.

wow i love all of your colors! you willbe beautiful.
if i had to chose i would pick the first ones!
thank you! i loved the earrings you wore, a lady from that jewelry company called me, i need to get back to her...
Danglies:banana:
even though i'm not going to wear them for the wedding, i'm still going to buy them, they are fabulous!
I think the second ones might look good with the veil. The dangles might draw attention to your ears and not your face.
my thoughts on those danglies as well, they're very long!
I love your pj btw!! :goodvibes
thank you!
Dangly earrings DEFINITELY!
You'll look so princess: -like on your wedding!
thanks!
The more I see all of your little details the more I cannot wait to see your pictures! :bride:
it will be nice to see it all come together...finally!
I'm loving the shoes! And the programs look SO professional!
thank you so much! my programs were one of the first things i started on when we got engaged, i love how they turned out!
I like the first pair of earrings best.
And, I haven't forgotten about the tinkerbell punch (it's the scrapbooker in me): Have ya checked out ebay (http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=tinkerbell+punch&category0=)?
i can't find the punch anywhere, but i did finally get the stamp, it's the perfect size and i am so thrilled that the michaels near mark's parents house had it!
Caryn,
I just checked ebay and there are a bunch of Tinkerbell punches. I considered getting one for myself.
it is super cute...
Caryn~
Where are you? Have I missed something? I'm missing you being around. :upsidedow I hope you're not still  cuz that would totally suck.
Anyhow, question for you... You're shipping your dress to Carolyn Allens for steaming, correct? Do you have pricing on that?? I can't call them until I get out of work and I'm anixous today. Every time I finishish a big school project, I feel school pressure lift and wedding pressure set in. Eeeek!
Thanks!!!!!
thanks for wondering where i was! i think i'll never get better. the weather in tx needs to pick a route and stay with it! did you ever decide about CA's? i didn't see it in your pj you pirate: !!! when i was going to do this, i booked it online, i'll confirm with her just after the new year...
I miss you too Caryn!
Wendy, Carolyn Allens charges between 65 and 85 for dress steaming. Mine is 85 because its large and has a lot of pickups, but yours will probably be 65.
thank you for missing me! i'm glad you posted that increased rate for pick-ups, i guess i'll be paying 85 as well, i figured as much though...it always costs me more $ to do anything!
CA quoted me $15 to store the dress and nothing but the cost of shipping to send it back uncleaned (it's $125 and up if you want cleaning and gown preservation, but mine's 100% polyester - I'm throwing that baby in the washing machine!). :rotfl:
lurky, are you REALLY going to throw it in the washer?
Did you guys call or fill out the form online for the dress steaming?? I'm a huge emailer/online shopper, but for some reason... I don't trust it for these sorts of things where you're contracting a service. I just want someone to walk me through what I'm doing, ya know?
sorry for hijacking you PJ Caryn :rolleyes1 I probably could have started a thread about this, huh?
I called and talked to someone - I don't trust online forms!

i need to take the lead from you guys, then i wouldn't be so stressed about CAs and Beaute Speciale...maybe i'll call them all today, just to touch base!
I LOVE the monogram on your program. I know we're all talking about how great the big ribbon is (which it really is), but the monogram is FANTASTIC. Seriously. I keep looking at it. Did you design it or did you borrow it?
Thanks! The monogram is from the cinderella disney font that i downloaded, i just used a capital D (which adds cindy in there for you) and small letters for the c and m! i'm really pleased with how it turned out! i'm going to keep the big ribbon, i bought another roll on sale...so it's here to stay!
It's good to hear that you're okay. Sounds like you've been busy. But you've got a plan and that's always good. DF is pushing his tux fitting back, but that's b/c he's losing weight! i have picked out 3 different styles for him to choose. this is how it is with EVERYTHING we do. houses, vacations...i narrow it down to 3 or 4 choices and he gets to pick. the problem is that he NEVER wears suits, so i don't know his sizes, what ties will look good on him etc...BOYS! he is NOT procrastinating about this, i will have a divafit and he hates that...
my sign will be big and sparkley. it will more than likely embarrass my in-laws who are flying down with us (insert super sarcastic smiley here) and mark.

no. i'm not in the christmas mood yet, though i did make fudge the other night for one of our parties...it turned out well which is exciting! i might take you up on your room block if you don't mind. half of our guests haven't booked yet...are you at movies or music?

RELIEF!!!!
i just got my dress altered! i decided to not use the white sash, there was no point and it looked all bunchy, i like the dress soooooo much better without it, the line is so much cleaner. i also gave him the cathedral veil to take up, that darned thing was like 7 feet long...too long for me. i'm happy that the only thing he had to do was a bustle, which was an ordeal because there is SO MUCH fabric in that skirt...he didn't have to take it up at all, in fact, it's going to look odd if i wear heals with it bustled, but he said he would see what he could do...i hate wearing flats, they hurt my feet! i totally forgot to take pics, there were so many people in there and i was trying to get out asap! i can't tell you how happy i am to have this done. finally! the only thing that stinks is that i have to get a necklace...the ring didn't look good, so i'm just going to wear it on my right hand...now i have to go necklace shopping...i'm just going to get something simple, since my earrings are super sparkley!
my best friend went with me, which was so nice of her since i didn't ask her to be a bridesmaid. i think she's a little upset by that, but we really didn't want a big wedding party and i didn't want to leave my sisters out. i can't decide if she's upset because i didn't ask her, or if she just wants to be involved...i think the latter is more than likely, so she's going to help me get the rest of my stuff done...she and her partner are coming over for dinner/wedding crafts/margaritas on wednesday!

ok, so i've been online searching for a necklace...it needs to be small and simple because my earrings are somewhat big...what do we think of these? they are both swarovski...if i get the snowflake, i'll also get a snowflake bouquet jewel to coordinate...

UGH! so i went to the swarovski store at 10 am and i was instantly annoyed at the number of (i just know that this is going to insult someone reading this, i apologize for my anti-holiday spirit snarkiness in advance:headache: ) big haired texas soccer mom's at the mall with their mini vans and suburbans that they don't know how to drive. needless to say, i was already in a mood and neither of those necklaces worked for me which was upsetting. i'm too white. i totally need to hit the beds and i keep forgetting to go. the crystal just got lost amongst my whiteness, so i need to think of another option...the more i looked, the more annoyed i became that i couldn't find anything, so i gave up.
one good thing did happen in the mall today though. You know those kiosks with all the fun sparkley rhinestone hair things? well, they had a ton of hair STICKS that i am going to purchase for use as bouquet jewels, they are like $3 apeice instead of $13 online! score one for the early morning shopping with soccer moms trip...
now onto the really big and exciting wedding news for the day, well, there are two things actually...
as previously stated, i am going to have my two youngest cousins (ages 2 and 7 *almost 8*) hand out bubbles and programs, so i had this idea that i wanted to have the younger one wear a tinkerbell costume and hand out bubbles. she's a riot and a total ham and i think she's going to be sooo adorable, so i asked her mom if she thought i was totally nuts and she thought it was a super cute idea! i got the costume for $25, the shoes for $9 and the tiara/wand for $9 on disneyoutlet.com!!!!!! she'll love it!!! i love this costume because it's sort of pastelish...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/49274M.jpghttp://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/49282.jpghttp://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/49837M.jpg
then...(this is HUGE)
so i had my heart set on finding mark a black brocade jacket and the only one i could find ANYWHERE was dolce and gabbana from neiman's and it was $1400...there was a seamstress i found online in nepal that would have made a similar one for $200, but we decided that giving someone in nepal our credit card number wasn't a good idea...after weeks of searching almost everywhere, we went to al's formalwear to get his suit tonight. he tried on this normal, everyday black suit and this cool tie that i insisted on. he hated the suit, LOVED the tie, was iffy on the vest so we decided to leave. he said that if i was allowed to have 2 bridal gowns and 12 pairs of wedding shoes (grossly exagerated) then he could have a $1400 jacket that he would wear again. so on we go to neiman's. we get there and they don't have it, it was "last season" :snooty: but it might be at the neiman marcus outlet 25 miles away...OK, so in the car again we go to katy mills mall in rush hour traffic...it took an hour and a half to get there. i thought mark was going to kill me. all i can talk about is this brocade jacket and how fabulous it is, i'm on the verge of hysteria at this point. so we get to the store and i run-seriously run-to men's sportswear, i find this nice little man (he was like a foot shorter than me) and i try to clearly articulate (not happening at this point) that i am TRYING to find the dolce and gabbana jacket so my fiance could wear it for our wedding and blah blah blah...they only had ONE and they sold it that morning :faint:. this is not good. not good at all. my face glazes over and i have a dazed look about me. i'm aimlessly thumbing through this sale rack that they had of jackets, looking for this zegna thing he wanted for christmas, trying to make sense of why the world is evil and mark was on the other side of the rack and OH MY GOD he totally picks up this jacket...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/brocade_silk_blazer.jpg
i start shreiking, in the middle of the neiman marcus outlet i am shreiking, mark is telling me to calm down, it's ok-blah, i CANNOT calm down, i was just standing there, thinking that my dreams are dashed, just DASHED and lo and behold, THERE IT WAS!!!! :woohoo:  :yay: popcorn:: :cheer2:
now for the 2nd best part...so the jacket was priced at $2000 (it's neiman marcus, we can't expect anything else), but it was marked down to $897, still too much, but at this point, they had me, like disney does with the $4 bottled water in 90 degree heat. i glimpse at the sign on top of the roundy rack and it says it's on sale EVEN MORE...how much more you ask???? 50% more, i think to myself that this cannot possibly be true, it truly cannot be true. i track down another employee (this one a bit taller) he looks slightly scared as i approach him (i frightened everyone off with my shreiking), i ask him, "sir, is this true? is this jacket that was originally priced at $2000 really only $450? uh, yes maam, that's right..." (he scurries off into the distance, far far away from me) i am happy, i am so so so happy. i call my father and continue to squeal with glee. he doesn't understand me, he doesn't understand anything except that i'm in neiman marcus and i've just bought something...i quickly try to re-gain my lady like composure as i waltz past men's shoes. i suddenly think to myself, "mark needs shoes" the FIRST pair that i pick up is his size and soooooo perfect for a wedding and only $130, i throw them at him and say, "mark, try these on!" he doesn't "like" them...until they get on his feet and he truly has a male like cinderella with the glass slipper experience, DUH, if there is one thing i am an expert on it's SHOES...
relief sets in and i am blissfully calm...life is good. mark doesn't have to walk down the aisle in his underwear and i am happy. i can sleep peacefully tonight :cloud9: ...

Caryn,
I TOTALLY love this last installment tonight. Only a true shopper can appreciate what you went through. I must say that the Katy Mills mall is my favorite place to shop when we go to the Houston area. My best friend introduced me to the mall earlier this year when we went to see Wicked. The show was amazing and the mall was WOW! I promise to start my own PJ tomorrow. I just wanted to let you know that I am now officially in the Two Dress Bride Club. I am ordering a new one tomorrow. More to follow in my own PJ.

katy mills is one of the most fantastic places on earth. i just hate that it's so far from where we live downtown. not only did we find mark's stuff there, but there was also my dream handbag...christian dior saddlebag, originally 1700 or 1900, marked down to 535. i'm hoping to get that for christmas. i was begging him. i hope i broke him...
we had lots of luck at katy mills yesterday...

Do you often find others shushing you? Does your DF frequently remind you that not only is he standing next to you, but his hearing is fine? Do you express enthusiasm with bursts of energy that come out in a yelling/ giggling/ screeching/ jumping up and down form?
LOL, I have this problem too.. yet I'm still among the yankees.

I can so relate to your reaction..........I will probably do the same if I ever manage to get these loons to the tux shop!!

i can't wait for your pj! where in tx do you live? i thought you were a tx girl with the bayou name!
katy mills is one of the most fantastic places on earth. i just hate that it's so far from where we live downtown. not only did we find mark's stuff there, but there was also my dream handbag...christian dior saddlebag, originally 1700 or 1900, marked down to 535. i'm hoping to get that for christmas. i was begging him. i hope i broke him...
we had lots of luck at katy mills yesterday...
Actually Caryn, I'm from Louisiana, but we spend a lot of time in TX. We love the Astros and our favorite spot to "vacation" other than Disney is the Woodlands. We've been to numerous concerts at the Pavillion and our kids just love to visit NASA. The museum/arts district is a favorite spot of mine too.
Good Luck on the handbag for Christmas. Maybe even a wedding present! popcorn::

Caryn..........just wanted to let you know that you had me in tears reading about finding the jacket!!!! I was crying from imagining what you looked like during all of that, then from being so happy that you found it, then for realizing I only have 58 days to go and none of my idiot groomsmen are doing ANYTHING!!! I can so relate to your reaction..........I will probably do the same if I ever manage to get these loons to the tux shop!!
i'm so glad we decided not to have groomsmen/bridesmaids, my sisters are standing up for us and if i was an only child we'd have no one...i have enough to deal with on my own without worrying about everyone else!!!!

41 days and counting:scared1:
i have the best friends in the whole world. i really do! i was stressing stressing stressing about my jewelry and at our christmas dinner party last night, my best friend courtney gave me this
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0352.jpg
the picture es no bueno, but i think this set is PERFECT. the other earrings that i bought are really big, and i think they'll get caught in the veil. i love this one! yaay! one more less thing to worry about...
i also ordered two ties for mark, in two different colors, what do we think? i also don't think he's going to wear a vest...i'm never going to find one to match the jacket and it'll make him hot and i'll have to hear about it. i am however going to get him a silk/cashmere scarf to wear for our ceremony so he won't be cold...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/35d4_1JPG.jpghttp://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/1439_1JPG.jpg
yellow or black? hmmm...we'll have to see about that...
courtney is also a notary, and she notarized our marriage license application, so i just have to send it off to them today!!! very exciting!
i still have a ton of things to do...we go to nj in 9 days and i'm afraid that we'll get snowed in there and i won't get back when i thought i would and that will give me less time to get all this stuff done...
i still have to
finish my menu cards
finish my programs
stamp my door hangers and emboss them
order my wine favors
get mark a shirt
make place cards
make a cd for the videographer
pay the rest of the deposits
maybe the list isn't that long...i haven't sent out christmas cards yet nor have i begun wrapping christmas presents...AGH!
it is not possible that there are only 41 days left. it is NOT possible.:hourglass

No. 1, with or without wedding date/names. If you go with No. 3, you might want to move the names and dates down (if you can) so they cover the base of the castle and expose the turrets (that's the former graphic designer talking...) :goodvibes

Here's my two cents:
At first glance the oval place card caught my attention, but in going back and looking at all of your paper projects, I think you are right about the rectangle ones. They match your invitations nicely. I think they are both really elegant, but for the sake of continuity, I would go with the rectangle one.

thank you ladies for all of your help with our wine labels and our place cards! i have sent an email to the winery asking what they need to get started...waiting to hear back on that. i'm going to go with one of the castle pics, whichever one they think will look better. i like the first one, mark likes the second one! i'm also going to go with the rectangle place cards. i like that they will coordinate with my other stationary items!!! i was thinking that i could start on them today, but then it occurred to me that i'm still waiting on 30 rsvp's to come in  :headache:  :scared1: which is SO FREAKING AGGRAVATING. mark said this is his penance from never rsvping to anything in his life. karma's a real pirate: sometimes...

so my laptop crashed. i purposely bought a macbook so that wouldn't happen and WHAMMO crasho. mark is fixing it and backing up everything on it (i never remember to do that) so i'm on his computer right now...he's such a doll, he spent an hour on the phone with apple tech support!
without my laptop, i've been watching the WE and there are all those bride shows on sundays, those girls are so funny. they de-stress me. i also have taken this opportunity to FINALLY finish my menu cards. they are done and i am relieved. i now need to start on my programs. once those are done, i'll only need to do my place cards and finish my door hangers. those are easy though, i only need to stamp them with my new tink stamp!!!
i'm still waiting on 30 rsvp's and i'm really aggravated. our guest count is at 58 right now without those rsvp's. is it safe to assume that they won't come if they haven't said they are already? what if they show up at the wedding and i didn't know they were coming?

Wow Caryn, 30 RSVPs? I would be really aggravated too! I think you're ok in assuming that if they haven't responded now, they probably don't intend on coming. lol... Wendy, you're too funny. I absolutely agree about the RSVP problems! Its like people think they're too good to RSVP! That we should just ASSUME that they'll be there!
This weekend i was talking to a friend who's having a destination wedding in Hawaii... I was trying to explain what a pain the RSVP's are and she says "mine wont be like that, I have a website people will RSVP on". I almost laughed! A total of 5 couples (out of 55) have RSVP'ed on my website... and I wrote the link on every insert in my invitation! Right on the RSVP card it says something like "send in this card, or RSVP online"!

I have been meaning to post some pictures of all the projects I've been doing for Caryn but I haven't had any time until now. So I'll start off with the water bottles... we did these the day after Thanksgiving. We peeled off the labels of some Zephryhills water and taped the labels that Caryn sent. They turned out nice, I think. They are currently sitting nicely back in their cardboard thing with the shrink wrap around them in my hall closet <a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/HPIM1952.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>
The M&Ms have been boxed and ribboned by Caryn. All we had to do was put these cute Mickey Mouse stickers on them... the stickers didn't photograph well so I'll describe them. They have Tinkerbell on the top and Caryn and Mark's monogram in the middle. They are the same shimmery paper that was used on her invitations and placecards. The M&Ms are also in boxes sitting right by the water bottles in the closet.
<a href="http://photobucket.com" target="_blank"><img src="http://i151.photobucket.com/albums/s131/lindsayacraig/HPIM1958.jpg" border="0" alt="Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket"></a>

The lights on the castle are just stunning. If you are in the area and can see them, they are BEAUTIFUL!!!

so this is how my day started...i received an email from lindsay22 that says, "it's 39 degrees here this morning. let's hope it's warmer than that on
wedding day." DON'T SEND ME EMAILS LIKE THIS ANYMORE LINDSAY22 :cool2: :cool2: :cool2: :cool2: :cool2: i have enough rsvp stress, i DON'T need weather stress. we'll save that until i can see the 10 day forecast. that still gives me 26 days to stay weather stress free.
i bought a freaking TON of stuff today. i was watching some bridezilla show on WE (women's entertainment network) yesterday and got this GREAT idea for a bouquet jewel...so what if her wedding cost 1.5mil...i'm a disney bride and she's not princess: here is my new bridal bouquet jewel inspiration
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0369.jpg
just the curvy part, the other two things are earrings that came with the huge pin. i got regular swarovski hair sticks as well for my bouquet. they were 12 for $8...i couldn't resist!!!
then, these are the original earrings that i bought...i might like these better than courtney's but i doubt it. i still think i like hers better...what do we think?
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0371.jpg
i bought disneymeg hair jewels (lindsay22 you can use them if you'd like as well, i just didn't think they were your thing AND i'm still mad about the early morning haterific email...)
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0373.jpg
i also found the mickey toe ring's that katie sent me, so i bought a dozen, they are so super fun! i LOVE them! i also looked for a bracelet, wasn't too successful, i'm probably not going to wear one since i'll have gloves on...
i started the process with keepsake floral today which is exciting! i also sent murielle winery the castle graphic for our wine labels! i'm going to attempt to work on the programs for the next few days.
oh, i did get one rsvp, but i already knew that they were coming from the reservation list...ERGH!

Thanks, another quick question. I know you have written before about the paper you love - I think it is some kind of opal or pearlized paper. Can I ask where you purchased it? I am doing the Cards and Pockets invites and love their pearl paper but it is really thick. I am looking for something pearlized but not as thick. I have 5 or 6 inserts into the pocket section and all this plus the RSVP envelope makes it really thick.
Thanks,

I gave my florist fishing lures for bouquet jewels... she thinks i'm nuts :)
you're using an outside florist right? i called laura to see if she needs them before i get there, but she's on vacation this week...if your florist thinks that you're crazy, she needs to watch "my big fat fabulous wedding" on WE. those girls are nuts.

it will be a very nice holiday! i have little mickeys in the form of earrings and toe rings that we can convert to hair pins! mark told me that i'm not allowed to stress about weather. he told me to get over it and that's why i bought a fur wrap and he'll put a pea coat over his suit and be done with it!

well, it's done! the wedding is officially paid for. i just faxed in my signed copy of the beo and i have the hard copy sitting next to me in a pretty little envelope to mail to linda. somehow i thought this would take some stress off, i keep telling myself that it does, but i don't feel any different. i feel like we're getting closer, but other than that, the stress level is the same. we are still waiting on 18 rsvp's. i requested another copy of my room block and lo and behold, there were indeed some surprises on there for me...the fil's left for their 2 week hawaii cruise today, so i'll have to wait until after the new year to get final #'s from their family. our friends are my biggest issue. they are making me SO MAD! those 18 rsvp's account for a possible 38 guests. that's a big #. i know that some of them are coming, i just need to know how many! UGH! see, this is why i'm still stressed out! i want to get my place cards done and my seating arrangement done and be DONE with it all. why do people have to be so difficult? do they WANT to ruin my christmas? HATERS!!!!! :scared1: :cool2: :cool2: :cool2: ok, now i feel better.
mark's ties came in from the ebay lady and they're great! i'll have him try them on and post pics later on.
sorry for the rant. i just get so disgusted every time i look at my rsvp box and realize how many are missing. people just have no manners these days!

i can't beleive you wrote that...:cool2: :cool2: :cool2:
Wow, you are almost there!!!
don't remind me...
on christmas eve, i walk into my grandmothers house to my aunt janet talking about :cool2: , my aunt jeanne commenting (positively of course) on disboard conversations and other various female family members saying things like, "i read the PJ" or "i saw your blog." we ladies, are the topic of discussion at many a christmas dinner party in nj. too funny! now i'll take a quick minute to give thanks to: aunt jeanne, aunt janet, aunt judi (my grandmother likes the "J" names, my mom is jayne...), lisa, laura, aunt mary, mom and grandma! thanks for reading!
29 days. how did THAT happen? we just got back from NJ today. It didn't snow and mark was dissappointed. i wasn't though. anyway, this trip brought up a slight issue. maybe someone could help me with this. we flew southwest (which we NEVER do, we're strict continental people, but they were twice the price and newark airport around christmastime is murder) and have already purchased our wedding airfare through them. i haven't flown southwest since i was in college. i thought they outlawed the cattle call after 9/11. not the case. on the way there, we were in the "C" boarding group and didn't even get to sit together. then today, we were in the "C" group again and it was just a nightmare. they lost half the luggage on our flight (not ours though :) ) and very quickly ran out of carry on luggage room. this worries me. we are going to have at least 6 suitcases for the wedding and if one of them gets lost or misplaced, or really even out of my site, i just know myself...this WILL be the thing that throws me into bridezilla mode. so how do i ensure that i am the FIRST person on that plane and have a place for my dress? i asked the flight attendant if i could buy a seat for it and she said no :cool2: . but i've heard that other disbrides have done just this. we are also traveling with my fil's  . i just see this catastrophe occurring already. mark actually even agrees with me. he thinks we should try to get a refund and book on another airline, but i don't think they'll let us. it says the tickets are non refundable :headache: . so i guess i'll just have to call southwest customer service and see what they can do. advice on this issue would be greatly appreciated.
in other news, i'm starting a new work out. laura kidd said that my bouquet is going to be super heavy, so i'm going to buff up my arms as much as possible before we leave...
iiiiiiitttttttt's nap time!
so how do i ensure that i am the FIRST person on that plane and have a place for my dress?
Check in online! Southwest allows you to check in online for your flight up to 24 hours in advance. If you check in online as soon as the 24-hour mark hits, you will definitely be an "A". Good luck!

While you can not get a refund, Southwest will issue you a credit for the airfare amount that then must be used within 1 year of the purchase date. (we fly SW all of the time)
Also, with SW, you can check in online (or via cell phone) 24 hours before your flight time so you can then get into the A group. Here is the link for checking in.... http://www.southwest.com/content/travel_center/retrieveCheckinDoc.html?ref=ckin_hp_wl_tt (http://www.southwest.com/content/travel_center/retrieveCheckinDoc.html?ref=ckin_hp_wl_tt) or use mobile.southwest.com for wireless checkin. They will print your boarding pass off at the terminal for you (the sky cab guys or at a kiosk or the inside check-in). I can't help with the extra seat/dress issue though. Sorry!
By the way, you can use the SW credit to purchas a flight in someone else's name. That prove handy if someone will buy the credit from you.

updates that i forgot to post earlier because i was all consumed with my afternoon siesta...
i bought the unoffical guide for 2008. i don't know what is wrong with me, i've never gotten one before and it's huge and i love it that way because i'm a size queen. i read it on the plane in between watching episodes of "whose wedding is it anyway" on my ipod...
when i got home i had only one rsvp in the mail and a message on our answering machine confirming that i knew that mark's aunt was coming (i did from the reservation list-but at least she called...). so now i am tasked with calling all of these people who haven't bothered to send me back my cards :cool2: to top it all off, i am still  . i cannot shake this. AND mark is sick, we were both drugged (and not the good kind either :rolleyes1 ) for most of our vacation. i seem to be getting worse though. stress kills. that's all i have to say.

Caryn,
Your "children" are gorgeous! I know how they are though. We left our "four legged" child here while we went to my mom's for a few days for Christmas. He was angry with us when we got back. However, he doesn't stay angry for long. Our Kitty's name is Dumbledore and our Westie is Sophie.
Time is growing short for you. I hope that you and Mark start to feel better soon. It's no fun to be sick during the holidays.

I'm in Michigan too and we didn't get snow for Christmas. I have to admit that I'm with the boys, I wanted snow. But JUST for Christmas. My theory is that it should snow Christmas eve, last until the New Year and then be done. That's it, one week of snow a year. However, if it absolutely has to be cold, then I'd rather that it be cold with snow. I hate cold all by itself! Who knew I had such strong opinons, I guess I'm a weather snob. :snooty:
RSVP!!!!
What is wrong with people? I'm still waiting on RSVPs too. And, now my bridesmaid is learning what it feels like trying to pull together the bachlorette party. :scared: :cool2:
I hope you start feeling better Caryn! My biggest fear is being sick just in time for the wedding. Which, know me, I'm prime for illness in early February. Hopefully Florida will combat that!
Don't worry about being the cat lady. I'm totally, 100% in LOVE with our cat. His name is Apex (named for the apex of a curve- DF & I ride motorcycles) and he has the biggest, bestest personality and loooves to cuddle and play and talk! However, he turns into a brat when we leave and I have to close all the doors and confine him to the basement area b/c he'll seek his revenge on the carpet or worse, our bed!!! Only when we're gone for longer than a couple of days... ugh!
Anyhow, I'm still here, and still reading. Thanks for updating! I'm so excited for you that you're under the one month mark! :dance3:

Ooh - I just love your cats. Up until a year ago, I always had a cat or 2, but I lost my last 2 babies within 2 years of each other...but they both lived good long lives. I struggle reagularly with getting another one - I know I will eventually, but I feel I need to wait a while. See, I have a blind dog. He's a big goofy black lab (who also misses his kitties), but he loves all the attention to himself, and I think he would get awfully confused and probably even scared if we brought someone new into the house where he can't see it.
Count me in for hating snow! We have already had more snow here in the last couple of weeks than we had all of last winter. I used to also wish for a white Christmas (only hehehe) - but after the nasty couple of winters we had a few years ago...well I'd be happy to never have to deal with snow again.
Sorry for the side track...
Now go do some RSVP butt-kicking!! Good luck.
good call. can i do this and still check my luggage?
You'll still have to get in line at the check-in at the airport to check luggage. I guess the advantage of checking in online is to get an "A" boarding pass, and then you'll have a better choice of seats, more overhead space for carry-ons, and guarantee you and Mark can sit together. So to ensure all your luggage makes it on the plane safely, your best bet is to get there EARLY so you can check your luggage and get it on the plane early on. Also, people start lining up at the gate in the "A" boarding pass line really early, so you'll want to get to the gate early, too. Southwest is a hassle in this regard, but sometimes if you get a good deal, it's really worth it! HTH!

YAY for the hot pink crinnie!!! a few of us on here have dyed ours, i am so excited about it! i'm wearing a petticoat as well, but i'm keeping that white. the petticoat is currently squeezed into a tiny little bag that'll be easy for me to pack!

i'm actually not going to wear a sash at all. we took the white sash off my dress, i like it a lot better that way, the line is cleaner and the waist doesn't look bunchy (bunchy is one of my made up words...). i've changed my look to be entirely white (except shoes and crinnie which are pink) and crystals...

THE BATTLE OF MARK'S WEDDING BAND HAS BEGUN...
so, amongst all of the other things that i have to worry about, mark has informed me that he definitely wants to get a new ring. the original one he picked out...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/185914722309.jpg
looks like a piece of "sawed off pipe" and if he gets it, he "probably" won't wear it, because it's not, "the one." he's acting like a total girl. so now i have to find him another ring and once we do find THE ONE, i'm engraving, "do not remove" on the inside, just so we're clear...
to recap, this is my band
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/181823837445.jpg
i thought it would be super cute if he got something like one of these that matched...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/pZALEBBB1-2226838dt.jpg
or this, but i'm not sure if it'll be big enough for his big hairy fingers...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/pZALEBBB1-2226844dt.jpg
is that dumb to want his ring to match mine? ergh. why do boys do this? he also doesn't have pants to wear either, his pant deadline is wednesday. men aggravate me.

I don't think it's dumb at all... I really want our rings to match. My engagement ring has a celtic pattern on it, and my wedding ring matches it, so I want his to match both of them. It's probably the one thing I'm making a big deal about.
Good luck to Mark on the pant search... just tell him looking like Donald Duck on your wedding day isn't an option :rotfl:

Good luck to Marc on the pant search... just tell him looking like Donald Duck on your wedding day isn't an option :rotfl:
:rotfl: :lmao: :rotfl2: I can just see Mark in his fantastic jacket and ascot tie with NO PANTS! OMG! :scared1:
Oh and I love the second ring you posted.
Hey Caryn...I have a crinnie question, since we've had some wonderful crinnie banter today. Now that I've changed my dress to the red one, what color do you think the crinnie should be? I have been mulling that over for a solid week or so.
Things are moving along quickly for you...you're wedding is going to be here shortly...OH and the weather will be 70 and beautiful...

hmmmmm...the detailing on your dress is silver right? you could go with a gray and then spray glitter on it (that's a little weird, i admit, it reminds me of a 6 yr olds tap dance costume---moving on), or you could try to dye it the same color red as your skirt, though that might be hard, OR, you could go waaaay out there and dye it black, but that might look weird if there is additional white tulle already sewn into your skirt. let me give this more thought...maybe an ivory...have you posted pics of your dress? has it come in yet?
yes, mark and i have been watching, "the secret" and the weather WILL be beautiful because that's just how it's going to be!
i simply cannot believe that we are leaving in 3 weeks. its unreal to me...

good call on that one...
now onto the pj...
i originally bought these shoes
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/F05_Marissa.jpg
and had them dyed light gold to match my dress. i didn't think they were that dark and so i didn't think it was going to be an issue to dye them pink. i LOVE them. i've decided to wear these instead of my big pink bow shoes because those shoes have a 4 inch heal and i'll be a lot taller than mark, which doesn't make him happy. so i take the shoes to my shoe guy to see if he can make them pink. ANY color pink and he's acting like it's this big issue! HELLO! bridezilla alert! i told him that i didn't care if it matched the little 1 inch sample he gave me, they just needed to resemble some shade of pink. he made me mad. it's not like i'm asking for him to make them white again! ERGH. so i have to pick them up next tuesday IF the dye guy can do it. my shoe man has NEVER made me mad, he's usually my hero-except today.
then, i found this dress
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/31CD8XR2VNL_SS260_.jpg
on target.com on sale for $16. can't beat that! i think i'm going to wear it to pi the night of our wedding...i'll probably freeze my little butt off, but that's just another excuse to drink buckets...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

i have been so productive today. i don't know what it is, it just came over me today. i'm still sick and today is the first day i haven't been miserable. i've been watching the WE all day long. it's all bridal shows today...i'm going to be so burned out on weddings by the end of mine, it's insane...
i decided to glitterize my welcome bags, i just did the bottom because i didn't want to cover the label...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0374.jpg
i think it just looks wet in this pic...oh well.
then, i finished my programs which is a huge weight off my chest. i also added ribbons to my baskets that will hold my mickey bubbles and programs. i changed the bow on the programs to be a simple chocolate satin bow. the big one was too cumbersome and won't travel well. i don't want to have to worry about fluffing bows when i get to fl...

ok, so this is totally :offtopic:, but i'm still  . i was even the DD last night! so i think it's time for caryn to suck it up and go to the dr. my mother was yelling at me because i've been sick for a month and a half and she wants me to get better for the wedding. duh. ugh. more to come later. i'm reading martha's newest brides magazine :woohoo: that i've been waiting to come out for forever!
Oh my gosh!!! I can't believe your wedding is sooooo close! You are super organized and I'm impressed with everything you've accomplished. I'm so going to try my best to be half as organized as you've been. Honestly,... serious kudos. Good luck!!!!

I have to say...I vote with mom on the going to the Dr...Hopefully you can get it knocked out before you leave for DIsney. I had a coworker who was sick right before we left for our break (sniffles, coughing, etc.) she thought it was just a cold...She sent me a message through her daughter that when she went to the Dr...it was Pneumonia..

I don't know what inspired me this morning...maybe it was princessdisneybelle and her martha idea...the best thing about these is that i already had all the stuff, so i didn't have to spend any more money (which also made mark happy) :thumbsup2 . i used stardream opal (of course) cover weight, i printed the little saying on curry paper from paper source, punched them out with an oval punch, added curry ribbon, tissues inside and voila! i'm very happy with them and even happier that they are done!

inspiration has eluded me for sometime now, that's why i stole them from an ebay seller. here are the other ones they had to choose from:
-A wedding gown, a tux and tie, a tissue for you in case you cry
-For your tears of joy
-Thank you for sharing our tears of joy
-Tears of love, tears of laughter and tears of happily ever after!
-We want you to be ready when the bride appears - so we are giving you these tissues to dry your tears.
-If weddings always make you cry, Here is something to dry your eye...
i'm bringing my own baskets, but only because i found ones that matched my sisters dresses. they are the only thing stressing me about how to transport...i told her that right up front, so i'm not sure if they will give you them or what...

I have to say I love your cry packs - something else to add to my list of crafts for the wedding. I was wondeirng what type of tissues you used inside. Did you use regular small size packs of tissues or did you just take a few tissues out of a box for each cry pack?
A while ago I had asked you about the paper you used and you gave me the Paper Source website and told me it was Stardream Opal. I went on their website today and they have all different types of Stardream Opal paper in all different weights. I was wondering if you could let me know which one you have been using for all your crafts. I am planning on going with the Cards and Pockets for my invitations and I am looking for nice paper for the inside for the invites and side pockets info sheets.

ok! i used the regular text weight (80#) for everything except the cry packs. i used the cover weight (100#) for them. the cover is REALLY thick and wouldn't go through my printer. i'm glad i was able to use it for my tissues! as far as they go, i just bought a huge box of kleenex (then i washed my hands ;) ) and put 2 or 3 into each pack. if you are going to use stardream for your cards/pockets, i would get the regular text weight. i think it's heavier than regular paper, when i printed on both sides of it for my programs you couldn't see through! i was at my local paper store yesterday and they have a BEAUTIFUL pink in the stardream, but i can't see a reason to buy it right now...

let me preface this entry by giving a very stern
RANT WARNING
as many of you are aware, yesterday was mark's pant deadline. ie: he was supposed to have a pair of pants to wear to our wedding by the time his head hit the pillow last night. needless to say-didn't happen. so we had to have a little discussion this morning.
this afternoon, i took his beautiful BLACK brocade jacket and his 2 ascot ties with us to the galleria. let me take a minute to seriously slam macy's. the people in men's sportswear are downright RUDE. they started the bridezilla attack that continued on throughout this shopping experience. they were not helpful and they just really pis**#d me off. so we went to nordstrom. i take out the BLACK jacket, tell the guy that we want tux pants, he says that it would look bad. fine. it'll look bad. i also needed a shirt for him. we decide on black pants, this super cool shirt and he puts them all on this table for us to look at. it was at this point that the meltdown began. i was dripping. no kidding. mark actually left to go look at women's shoes. the brocade jacket is FREAKING BLUE. darn darn darn darn darn. NOT GOOD.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0403.jpg
see how blue it is? now, i am color blind (seriously) and totally thought this was reason enough to blame mark for this serious oversight. he was not amused. this sales guy was good though. he sternly looked at me, standing there in my bridezilla "there's 18 days till my freaking wedding" haze and said, "CALM DOWN. BE HAPPY. IT'S FINE." well, it's not fine, but we were in nordstrom and i was warned prior to entering the mall that we weren't going to have another neiman marcus scene. the nice man found us a pair of $250 pants that were blue, but so dark they are black. he hates them because they're pleated. he only wants flat front. here's a pic of mark in the 1st (yes 1st) ensemble.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0404.jpg
ignore the bad hair and vacant expression, he was in the middle of talking about how bad his hair looks post baseball hat...
ok. this is not my dream look, but whatever. i'm still having a serious meltdown at this point, we tried on the yellow and black ties and i think mark's neck is still red from me tugging on him, poor guy...so i HATED the ascot. i think it makes him look like an old man, he didn't like it either. so nice sales guy and i go on a hunt for the perfect tie and voila i find it (at least one thing is going right for me today) here's a pic of the tie and his super cool shirt.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0406.jpg
so we're done. $700 later we leave nordstrom and head for the car. thank god we were going to the world's largest liquor store (specs for all you texas people) because his next statement is the reason i have a glass of wine next to my glass of airborne miracle drug water. he has the NERVE to inform me that this new outfit doesn't make him look "fantastic, hot, etc." he now wants to wear a tux. meanwhile, the ENTIRE FREAKING TIME that we were in the galleria, he didn't like tuxes, wouldn't even let me suggest a tux because they are, "so prom." i keep silent through our next 3 stops and inform him that we are not speaking. upon arriving home, lindsay22 called to see how i was. i informed her that she needed to read this entry later on this evening. all the while ordering him a tux online. i'm done ladies. done. so now mark will have 2 options for the wedding. i threw some money at the problem and hopefully have made it go away.
tux pic

moral of this story? my fiance is a girl. jk. that was mean. at least he got a super cool, fabulous, gorgeous tie (picked out by me of course) that matches my yellow roses and his bout.

i've made an executive rsvp decision. if i don't know they're coming by tomorrow, they're not. i called three of my friends and they didn't even bother to call me back which is super rude and makes me think differently about them. i mean, just tell me you're not coming. it's fine. caryn's a big girl and she can take it. we did find out today though that mark's business partners are both coming with their girlfriends. add 4 more!!! which is fine. at least i know now...
then, while we were in nordstrom today, i found the earrings that i bought and they were $140 there and i got them for $30! yaaay me!

all i have to say is that Airborne stuff is GREAT. i've been taking it like 4 times a day and i think it's making me feel soooo much better!
The Airborne IS a wonder drug. I just introduced it to one of my bosses a before Christmas when he was pretty sick. I, luckily, haven't gotten sick (knock on wood) since I've quit smoking, started exercising and changed my diet. Man, what a difference being healthy makes!!!
so we're done. $700 later we leave nordstrom and head for the car. thank god we were going to the world's largest liquor store (specs for all you texas people) because his next statement is the reason i have a glass of wine next to my glass of airborne miracle drug water. he has the NERVE to inform me that this new outfit doesn't make him look "fantastic, hot, etc." he now wants to wear a tux. meanwhile, the ENTIRE FREAKING TIME that we were in the galleria, he didn't like tuxes, wouldn't even let me suggest a tux because they are, "so prom." i keep silent through our next 3 stops and inform him that we are not speaking. upon arriving home, lindsay22 called to see how i was. i informed her that she needed to read this entry later on this evening. all the while ordering him a tux online. i'm done ladies. done. so now mark will have 2 options for the wedding. i threw some money at the problem and hopefully have made it go away.

moral of this story? my fiance is a girl. jk. that was mean. at least he got a super cool, fabulous, gorgeous tie (picked out by me of course) that matches my yellow roses and his bout.
OMG! Caryn, I don't know how you're still standing! Living for that matter. No wait, I don't know how Mark is still living, breathing. I would have killed him. Dead. That's it. Bludgeoned to a bloody pulp with a blunt object. Srsly.
i've made an executive rsvp decision. if i don't know they're coming by tomorrow, they're not. i called three of my friends and they didn't even bother to call me back which is super rude and makes me think differently about them. i mean, just tell me you're not coming. it's fine. caryn's a big girl and she can take it. we did find out today though that mark's business partners are both coming with their girlfriends. add 4 more!!! which is fine. at least i know now...
Good decision. :thumbsup2 I just had another girlfriend email me that she's out b/c she has to go to a conference for work. I totally understand, but I would have guessed that she was out anyhow eventhough she verbally reassured me that she was coming. The fact that she hadn't booked ANYTHING was kind of a giveaway.
Caryn !! UGH! Men have no sense of urgency!
This is soooo TRUE!!!!! At times I don't think Chuck even realizes we're getting married! :confused3

If you think that's bad, my DH didn't realize we were "really" having our first kid until I was a week over due and he saw the ultrasound pictures. :rotfl2: I've been married 13 yrs and they never get some of this stuff.
Caryn, best of luck to you. :goodvibes for the weather. You're PJ makes me glad that we went with a small wedding and blew the money on a great honeymoon(2 weeks in Germany and Austria, including Oktoberfest  )

Caryn you are too funny! I love that im not the only one totally freaking out about everything right now.
btw.. I told Rob about Mark's "sawed off piece of pipe" ring, so now he wants to get rid of his yellow gold ring and get one in titanium
the sawed off piece of pipe is HOT.
Caryn !! UGH! Men have no sense of urgency!
At least now you can be certain he will have pants!
I really like the yellow tie, but I'm sure he'll look great in the tux as well!
yes. now he has TWO pairs of pants. i guess this is ok since i have 2 dresses...

It's so true that men have no sense of urgency! If it were up to my fiance we'd probably be married when we're 72. :rotfl: But, seriously! That's so funny how quickly he changed his mind about the tux thing. I guess because he realized it was an easier and quick decision? Men will usually take the easy way out.
And :thumbsup2 to putting your foot down about the RSVP thing. I think I'll be doing that in the near future as well! Try and maybe do something relaxing because all this stress can't be good. Maybe go for a pedicure or a massage? :goodvibes

Right after we got engaged in May, we started discussing dates. I picked February 08. He wanted to wait at least a year. We had already been together for 10 and a half years! He had no good reasons to wait, but I had had lots of reasons not to. So we went with my date. If it were really, really, really up to him, we wouldn't get married until we started having babies b/c DF thinks that's really the only reason to get married!?!?
He's just so strange :3dglasses , and such a boy. i don't get him at all sometimes! :sad2:

Caryn,
I agreee with Mermaid_Ariel, you need to do something relaxing...manicure, pedicure, Hot Stone Massage....something just for you to release all the stress you've had here lately. :scared:
I love the wine label. It's really nice. I started looking into mini bottles of wine to use as favors for our VR, but I'm having the darndest time finding them. I can find labels everywhere, but not the bottles. I may just go to the local store and buy little bottles and make my own labels to cover the current label.
It really will come together, I promise. Mark's a good guy, he's just a boy and we all know how boys are! CLUELESS :confused3 . BUT we love them anyway
Have a great weekend! De-stress! It'll feel great. Just say to yourself..."The Fearless Vampire Killers?" :rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao: you'll laugh and that's good for you.

Caryn.. I just thought of this... for your RSVP's that you're missing - why not leave them a message saying "hi... just thought of you... if I don't hear from you by 5 pm this afternoon, I'll be marking you down as not coming". That way, you gave them the heads up and they HAVE to call you back if they are. And if they're not... you did your thing. Instead of waiting for a call of yes or no. Give them the no, then let them call if it's yes. And set a time deadline. Honestly, if people can't reply, then they obviously don't care enough. If they can't care enough to reply, you shouldn't care enough to pay for them :) (Sorry, just a bit bitter cuz I know this is going to happen to me).
Cool. And LOVE the wine labels BTW!

All I thought of when I read your post about Mark's coat this morning was in Father of the Bride when Franck goes "This tux is NAAHVY blue" :lmao: . I say let Mark wear whatever he wants. It's his wedding too and it should be his responsibilty to get his own outfit, he didn't supervise you getting yours, now did he? No. So if Mark wants to go without pants, then let Mark go without pants and boy will we have something interesting to talk about after the wedding
It was VERY VERY cold here yesterday but today I was able to run around town only wearing a light sweater and it was lovely. I had a quick thought about your favors and I almost don't want to mention this but: what about people and the airport?!? They can't carry their wine on, it'll be more than 3 oz. I think you might want to try and mention that in your wedding literature somewhere. Or even maybe make little labels that mention that and I'll tie them around the bottle necks or something. (I thought of this while I was reading one of my Disney receipts that reminds guests that they CANNOT carry on their snow globes because it's more than 3 oz of water) Do you know when the wine will be in? Also, do you know if this winery gives tours and tastings? I feel its my duty as a Dis member to taste as many wines as I can and report back to the Dis brides who may want to buy some.:rolleyes1
I am also in the process of assembling my day of wedding kit. So far it includes: advil, shout wipes, safety pins, pepto, elmers glue, duct tape (because what can you do without duct tape) deoderant, altoids, lactaid, white chalk, a small sewing kit, and batteries. What am I forgetting? Can't wait to see you for the big day! It's almost here!!:woohoo: :yay:  :cheer2: :cool1: :scared1: :scared: :cheer2: :dance3:

thank you, sadly, it may change, but we'll see, i'm still fighting for my castle!
today's updates.
first i'll start and say that i freaked out tonight (what else is new...), my little zorri was laying next to me and i looked over at her and i thought she was having a stroke, so i started screaming her name and petting her and mark was sitting across the room looking at me like i was :scared1: because she was sleeping and having a little kitty dream. she woke up, yawned, looked at me like she was annoyed, stretched, rolled on her back and went back to sleep...oops...needless to say, the stress is getting to me. i also discovered, right after that incident that i double booked hair/make up. at least i think i did. i have emails from ana with beaute speciale (who i wanted to use) and with anna with makeover majic. i can't find a confirmation email from her, but i think that i mistakenly emailed her last week asking a question and she got back to me saying she was doing our hair/make up...confusing. i just sent beaute speciale an email to confirm...i'm SO GLAD that i caught this. waking up that morning without hair/makeup would be bad. i'll just leave it at that.
a very productive day today was! i embossed my door hangers
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0427.jpg
not a great pic, but it'll do
i put all the paper stuff in the welcome bags and they are ready to go! i still have all sorts of stuff left to put in them, but i want to pack them flat...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0418.jpg
i mickey-ized the bm flippies
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0417.jpg
and i finished our place cards
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0421.jpg
i'm going to put the #'s on the back, i'm actually incorporating both designs that i originally thought of for the place cards. this made it so much easier for me today...
i still have a boat load to do, but at least it seems like it's FINALLY coming together. i'm going to pack this stuff by next weekend, that's my goal! i also need to determine what i'm going to send to lindsay in tampa...

Oooh Caryn! Its getting close! I love everything so far, the place cards and flip flops are adorable. Where did you get the paper for your place cards? Did they already come folded like that or did you have to fold them each individually?
i got them in a pack of 50 from paper source. they came folded already and were only $5 :thumbsup2 !

I was just on the paper source site and I didn't see the cards you were talking about. I only saw packs of 20, maybe I'm not looking in the right place? :confused3

thank you lisa! it IS very ME. which is exactly what i wanted! mark laughs at me, especially when i had 70 door hangers spread out in front of me and embossing glitter everywhere, he said, "don't you think this is a waste of time?" i equated it to him by saying that the little details matter, just like how I accessorize when i go out at night, he nodded his comprehension <<score one for me :thumbsup2 !
i never thought i would get married, so now that i actually am, i want it to be exactly what i want. that makes a lot of people angry, everyone has to have their own input into YOUR day.

I have to agree with you there. Everyone else always interjects their wants on your day. If I ask for your opinion, I want to hear it...if I don't ask..please don't offer it. I know that kinda sounds witchy with a B, but it's kinda the way I feel.
I did things my parents way for our original wedding, but this VR is going to be OURS!
I'm so excited for you, and I can't wait to see the pictures. You and Mark are going to look fantastic and have an absolutely wonderful wedding. You've already established yourselves as a couple and are clearly happy together. I wish you all the magic that a Disney Wedding has to offer...but I wish it for you for the rest of your lives!

first i'll start and say that i freaked out tonight (what else is new...), my little zorri was laying next to me and i looked over at her and i thought she was having a stroke, so i started screaming her name and petting her and mark was sitting across the room looking at me like i was :scared1: because she was sleeping and having a little kitty dream. she woke up, yawned, looked at me like she was annoyed, stretched, rolled on her back and went back to sleep...oops...needless to say, the stress is getting to me.
This is really weird, b/c I had a very similar experience just a couple of weeks ago. We were in bed sleeping and for some reason I woke up. Our cat Apex will sleep with us. Sometimes he's at the foot of the bed, sometimes he's snuggled under mine or Chuck's chin. Sometimes he'll sleep squarely between us. So on this particular night he was hogging my foot space (i'm 5'11"!) and I push him with my foot and he doesn't move AT ALL. Right in that moment I decided he was dead, so I start shreiking... "Chuck! Chuck! Apex isn't moving! I think the cat is dead!" Of course the minute Chuck wakes up and lifts his head, Apex looks over his shoulder and yawns at us, snuggled back down and went back to sleep. Chuck told me to relax and go back to sleep! Arrrgh! ***!
Anyhow, everything else seems like it is shaping up and you're doing great!!! I'll be thinking of you all day on Wednesday, sending you :goodvibes

wendy, thanks for the pixie dust on wed...i'm going to need it!!!
groomswear update...
i have a confession to make. you're all going to think i'm crazy. the tux i ordered mark, i got from target.com for $99. who does that? well, it came today (along with my space bags which i'll get to later) and it fits perfectly. i find this to be hilarious because my 2nd dress is from ebay and it was less than 1/2 the price i should have paid. we're the discount bride and groom. we're going to have the tailor take the sleeves up, but other than that, we're in business!!! i am so releived.
onto the space bags. those babies are HUGE. i got three of them in a pack. one for my dress, one for my crinnie and one for something else! this is such good news...
i started my tanning today. i'm scared of burning so i wore #5 sunblock in there, which might be counter productive, but i just need a little tan, not a big one...
2 weeks and counting!

the jacket and pants are thinner than a normal tux, i knew that beforehand though and that's why i bought it. mark gets hot super quick and i didn't feel like hearing him whine all day...i think it looks great. the jacket is a three button, fantastic! their sizing is right on as well, like, it fits him perfectly! the only change we're going to make is we're going to taper the jacket just a bit and take the sleeves up a tiny bit...

Caryn... saw your post on the "whats on your menu" thread. Can you pm me the cost of your buffet? I really want open bar at my wedding and I need an idea of cost for the buffet. I'm doing ADH so it should be the same stuff from boardwalk. I liked your menu so I'm curious. If you don't mind. Or write me here if you don't mind throwing money figures.

i'll post publicly since i have about a dozen pm's to answer with this info...
i originally had a citrus crusted pork loin roast in the carving station that i removed. with the pork the buffet cost was $72/pp. removing the pork took off $6/pp making the total price $66/pp.
come stalk! we love wedding lurkers!!!
Thank you!!! That helps enormously!!!! And yes... I think I will stalk you. Thanks for the thumbs up on that one.

The lint brushes and cake topper have officially arrived at my house safe and sound!! :cheer2: Of course, I made the mistake of calling Caryn and telling her that there was a printed price on them. (No idea what I was thinking...) So, she nicely asked (demanded) that I remove the cellophane wrappers and black out the price. Cordelia (my beautiful little kitty cat) had a wonderful time hunting the cellophane. So far I have the water bottles, the lint brushes, the M&Ms and the cake topper all ready to go. Caryn said that she was going to ship me a big box with the rest of the welcome bag stuff. I'll be on the lookout for that.
Can't wait for the wedding! It's almost here!!

Im watching that WE network right now, and there is this bride who is not only picky but a PAIN IN THE BUT-TOCKS!!! OY! You just want to slap her. They spent so much on HER wedding (yes not both of their weddings ... hers) that they had to use money from the guests to pay the vendors. Is that normal???? Im young and very inexperienced with this whole wedding idea. I mean im only 23 so this is just a little overwhelming. I mean gosh C even you werent THAT bad. So now i have a question to ask of all. HOW DO I GET MY DRESS DOWN TO FLORIDA???? According to dad, he said to just bundle it up and put it in my suitcase since its going to get pressed anyway. Is this a good idea? Megan doesnt know!!!!!! Megan needs help!!! Megan is a little bit stressed about some things. I also need from Lindsay .. a packing list?? What should i pack? Hows the weather? Should i bring a "clubish" outfit? ilovechip-you're very kind...i'm not so fond of the e-pic but i'll get over it...
UPDATES...
i finally found a paper warehouse store in houston that i got my welcome bags, welcome bag labels and the inserts for my programs from (i feel sooooo much better)...i also went to michaels and bought the big mickey cut out thing, i'll use this for either the invitations or the programs...and countless other things...
i bought mother of the bride, mother of the groom, 2 bridesmaid, bride and bachelorette rhinestone iron-on's from ebay! they were super cheap, and other brides on here got them and raved about them, so i'm excited!!! i'm going to make shirts out of them!!! i can't wait until they arrive!
we went to galveston yesterday to speak to the rabbi who was VERY NICE. we went over wording and the ceremony order (i told him 15 minutes tops...) and everything seems to be working out fine!!! that's a big relief, i was scared that he was going to try to convert us or something, but that wasn't the case at all, he was so cool!
we also made our reservations, we booked the boardwalk for a few nights up till the wedding, then we'll stay at the poly for our poly-moon!!! i'm excited about that! they didn't have the honeymoon suite availabl, which is upsetting, but maybe there will be something available when we get there...there also wasn't even a garden suite available for our wedding night, so i'm going to have to keep checking to see if we can switch...
finally, while we were in galveston we looked at some vacation property to buy as our wedding gift to one another (it is SO cheap...). mark isn't so keen on the galveston idea because he grew up down there but i love the beach and have the sales process going, i would love a little beach condo!!!
So i know this is really old but I just recently started planning my wedding and i too livein houston please tell me where this wonderful paper warehouse store in houston.

the girls on the we are so crazy. i love them though! i watch that channel religously...this is how i'd get your dress down there...i'd get a space bag and then just stick it in a carry on. it's going to be steamed anyway, so don't worry about wrinkles. DO NOT CHECK YOUR DRESS. i repeat. DO NOT CHECK YOUR DRESS. go on www.accuweather.com and look at the 15 day forecast to see what the weather will be like. then you can know what to pack. i'll email you my massive packing list later.
so i have some bad news. hopefully not too bad. i'm still waiting to hear. my little cat, tiffany (named after my fave place in the world) has been having some issues. i'll spare you the gory details, but i ended up taking her to the vet this morning and they are 99% certain that she has diabetes. i'm so sad. she's my little child and i love her sooooo much. she was the first cat i ever got and i just adore her. i'm so sad that she's sick. because of this i have to board her when we go to fl. and she is not going to like that. anyway, i know that you all probably think i'm a crazy cat lady (i am :cutie: ), but this was sad news. along with this drama, i have a massively important job interview tomorrow that i've been preparing for all day. send some pixie dust my way. tiffs and i need it!!!

I'm sorry about your kitty. My cat is either diabetic or has pancreatitis (or pancreatic cancer, but it doesn't matter because there's nothing they can do). He's not even 10 yet. We give him a shot every day and he is doing well. It's been over a year. I hope Tiff feels better soon!
Good luck with the job hunt - I'm looking too.

Cordelia and I hope that Tiffy feels better soon!! (you might want to try and keep her from doing things like licking tape, maybe that's why she is sick) I have already blacked out the prices on the lint brushes. If I take a knife, I will be cutting off a piece of the protective paper. You can't give lint brushes with sticky paper showing, it'll probably have cat hair on it if you did! They are fine and I really don't think that anyone is going to hold the lint brush to the light and see if they can figure out the price.
Will you be Fed-exing or post officing your boxes to me? I'll be out of town this weekend but there is an office where fed ex can leave packages. Have you figured out when the wine bottles will be in? Can you also leave me their phone # and maybe repost the web address? Do I need anything to pick them up (ie; receipt, order form, etc)
Megan, it's been in the high 70s low 80s the past few days. It gets chilly at night and in the morning. Make sure your bring a sweatshirt or a sweater. I'm not bringing a club outfit, I don't club. N.O. HTH

thank you for all of the well wishes. i picked her up and she has a massive infection SOMEWHERE. they don't know where, they also don't know why she's losing all this weight. so now i have 2 different antibiotics and special food for her. my poor little one. at least its not diabetes though, but if the infection doesn't go away, she has to be admitted into the kitty hospital for all sorts of tests. ugh. o, and the vet bill-not cheap...

Wow, less than 2 weeks to go now, is it going fast or is it dragging now?

awwww that baby is so sick. Im sure she'll be fine. I wasnt planning on checking my dress .. to be honest I wasnt sure i was gonna check anything. I dont really think im gonna bring that much. ill have to decide. Will the shirts taht you made for us be for after the wedding or should i go out and get a little sun dress or something to wear for the rest of the night? Now about my park hopper pass, Should i get 3 or 4 days? Will we be in the park after the wedding? What exactly is the schedule? Ill be arriving on the 22nd (my birthday) at around 1:45ish. Can we do dinner or something that night - maybe a small Megans Birthday celebration? nothng big cause its not a week about me but maybe drinks or something!!! so, nehoo, time to go get something done.
