Lol, you're too funny with your powerbar and gatorade :lmao: I know what you mean about the heat! It was 85 here when I was driving home from work. They keep saying a cool front is coming, but we'll see. Have you seen these cookies? (http://www.marthastewart.com/article/cookie-favors?lnc=6fec758a65cee010VgnVCM1000003d370a0aRCR D&rsc=collage_weddings_weddings-colors_p2) They look like a lot less work, but still super cute!

i have seen them...if the cake cookies become too much, this is what they will end up being, though they will be different sized circles...

How are the invitations coming Caryn? Are you done yet? I showed Mom how to work your planning journal and she liked your crinoline, but couldn't understand who has this much time to type all that information..... :confused3

Those look great Caryn! I love the envelope color, it looks just like your crinoline! I'm surprised about the Martha labels, I didnt like the picture on her site... maybe it was the pink she used? but yours look really elegant!

i didn't actually use the martha labels, her template was annoying and so i created my own as a word file, i used stardream opal paper (i'm using it for EVERYTHING, labels, invite insert, programs etc) and then used a glue stick (my new fave craft tool) to adhere them...i think they turned out well...i'm also going to wax seal the envelopes with gold wax. will post a pic when done!

oh, btw, i LOVE my envelopes, i got them from paper source, they are fantastic, i'm raving about them to everyone! i just put a new order in for menu card supplies!!!

The invites look fantastic Caryn! Very elegant. I love:love: the color of the envelopes. I have purchased a wax seal to do mine when we get to that point. I'm using silver wax on them. I have them designed, but it's way to soon to print them. I still have to be sure I can get my venues.

Loving the invites! I'm really fond of the truffle color.

I bought a wax seal to use on our invitations, but since we were using the Pocketfolds, I couldn't figure out where to put the seal! Oh well, it was a good idea. I'd love to see how you use your wax seal.

Your invitations are coming out awesome!

I have to tell you that I am so inspired by your criney and the whole idea. I have been adament that I do not want a poofy dress...no poof at all. I want something simple. But reading about what you wanted do and then how you did it, and then checking out that link you provided from the Knot - oh my, I think you've almost convinced me that I must get at least a little poof so I, too can dye one. I think its such a fun idea! I'm all about following your own path and having as much fun as possible :woohoo:

Good luck with the rest of the planning. Your date is getting so close!

a very excited thing happened last night! we went to see my fmil, ffil is on a trip and we wanted to see what she was up to, so df and i decided to drive down there and take her to dinner. fmil owns an antiques shop near galveston, tx. because the area that the shop lies in is becoming increasingly unsafe, she has decided to close her shop :(. i hadn't been there in awhile, like, probably 2 years. over the course of this wedding planning i've been asking her to look for things for me (cake servers, hair clips, SHOE CLIPS...), so i walk into her shop late last night and i saw began looking for antique clip on earrings for my ceremony ballet shoes. i was searching for an appropriate pair online the night before and couldn't find anything. i'm really particular about what i wear, especially jewelry. buried deep in this pile of brooches and cameo's, i found these...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0285.jpg

they are PERFECT. they're vintage, from the 1940's, one of the stones is cracked, but i don't care, i LOVE them. and with the family disocunt, they were very affordable!!! yyyyyaaaaaayyyyyy! i'm soooo happy! i REALLY wanted to find something to dress those shoes up! so exciting!

GUEST DRAMA
we also went yesterday to get our passports (for our honeymoon cruise!!!), mark just had to get his renewed, but i had to do the whole shebang. it took FOREVER. oh well, it's done. while we were standing in the very long line at the post office, i got a text message from one of my friends. he is going to come to the wedding, staying at pofq for a few days-GREAT. then he asked me if he could bring 2 guests. i was slightly miffed by this. #1, i haven't even sent out invitations yet, so he shouldn't assume that he is invited with a guest and #2 that is just plain rude (even though he said please, still rude). i asked him who he planned on bringing, he hasn't answered me. i have a feeling it's one of my old girlfriends and her boyfriend. we all used to work together and she and i had a falling out a few months ago. the fact that he's not telling me who he is bringing is suspect. how to handle this? i just told him that i have family who i am not inviting because our guest list is limited and i would let him know closer to the date, once i started getting rsvp's in. i know this is just a way of procrastinating and putting it off until later, but for right now, that's what i came up with.

i've been battling this guest situation for awhile now. the friends that we are inviting are from all over, not many of them know each other and if they do, it is just in passing. i know that other disbrides have grouped people in rooms so that they will have someone to hang out with etc...but i don't think our guests would go with this idea at all...so i made the decision to invite everyone with one guest. this is a big deal because some of my friends have children that i have become close with over the years and i am not inviting them. our guest count is now at 130. we were hoping to max out at 75.

i feel like all people want to do is criticize EVERY wedding move that you make. several people complained that we weren't registered and that our guests think we are asking for money, so we registered. then, another one of our guests complained that we aren't doing ENOUGH for our guests. we aren't going to have a rehearsal dinner, but i thought that we might have a brunch the day after, but we haven't decided yet. honestly, i want to keep costs down. as soon as ffil gets back from his trip we'll discuss this. this could replace the RD that he wanted to do. i know that everyone says not worry about anyone else's opinions, but it is very difficult. i'm a perfectionist and hearing criticism aggravates me. i feel like we brides work so hard on our weddings, to put together a beautiful day, why can't people just feel blessed that we included them? my mother always told me that, "some people are just b*7^#s" and i think she's right.

enough negativity! i started our thank you notes, here's a pic!
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0287.jpg
and another one
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0286.jpg

i'm also debating the whole place cards, table #'s (we've decided to go with #'s instead of names in the interest of saving caryn's sanity) and menu cards...here's what i have so far...

Place Cards-
Here's a pic of what i've bought so far
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0288.jpg
i feel like the place cards look like post it notes, so i ordered more, in chocolate brown and curry from paper source. i think i'm going to use an oval punch with vellum and the printed name on it and then put a gold # for the table # in the lower right hand corner. I'm going to use one of those flowers at the top left hand corner (there are 2 types of flower, ones that are made of paper and another one with a brad, like a little daisy) and I'm going to add a teeny-tiny crystal hidden mickey near the #...I need to make a mock up and post it...

Menu Cards-
They say that EPCOT can provide them, does anyone have pics? This is what I'm thinking...chocolate brown background with either a yellow or ivory sheet with the menu printed on it. also, i ordered chocolate brown and yellow satin ribbon to go on top...they will be at every place setting.

Table #'s-
EPCOT can provide these as well...pics anyone? Since i plan on buying gold glitter number stickers for my place cards, i feel that the table numbers should match. is this me being overly O.C.D? i have a few options...i can buy wooden #'s from michaels or hobby lobby or i can make them out of styrofoam and glitterize them myelf...what to do what to do...

baking will commence soon. i have to wait until df is not here or he'll eat them as the come out of the oven-not good for the wedding diet...

thanks for reading/listening ladies!

As far as a guest bringing two guests - I would let him know that they can come with him on the trip but not to the wedding and reception. You are paying per person and will not pay for extra "friends". I am sure you have your own family and friends that are not getting invited to your wedding. If he just wants to hang out with them and go to the parks with them during times he will not be involved in your wedding that would be fine - but you should not have them at the actual wedding and reception.

Did you make the Thank You's yourself? They're cute! I like the patterns.

I'm glad you found some shoe jewelry. When are you wearing your flats? After the ceremony & formal pics?

Your guest list sounds like mine! I wanted 50 but now we have 100... most because of the Monster in Law. You just need to be firm with these people and tell them that due to space concerns you wont be able to invite their guests. According to Emily Post's book of etiquette, you only need to invite a guest if they are a spouse, fiance, or live in partner. Anything else is nice, but not at all required. I've been at a few weddings where i've been seated at a singles table... it was fun to commiserate with other singles :) One of my friends actually met her DF at a wedding!

I really dont think the LSS can fit 130 people, can it?

I know what you're saying about getting sick of pleasing everyone. I've been dealing with that since we've been engaged. Dont be afraid to stand up for yourself. If someone gets upset with you about YOUR wedding then they probably arent worth worrying about anyways!

thanks! i did make the cards, i bought a pack of 50 textured cards from micheals, cut vellum to fit, used metallic embroidery ribbon to tie around the crease to keep it together, then i used martha's rub on "thank you's" on the vellum. very simple. very cheap. we'll include a wedding photo with each one.

yes, the flats are for ceremony, formal pics and dancing with mark.

when we first got engaged, i asked ffil how many people from their side we would have to invite. the answer was 5. now it is close to 50. and you are correct, the lss does not fit 130. absolute max is 100. it is most comfortable with 60-75...i'm not sure what i'm going to do...i have these illustrious dreams of moving to american adventure if need be or ADH...can't think about that, will hyperventilate...

I'm having 100 in the LSS, and I think it can fit maybe 110 or something. So you'll be ok if 20% or so can't make it!

Totally off topic... did you use salt when you dyed your crinnie? I think i'll do mine tonight!

Hi! I've been lurking around your PJ for awhile and I just wanted to say I think it's great. I really have enjoyed reading it.
I love the earings! They are going to look great with your dress.
The guest list is one of the hardest things in any wedding, and I think Disney brides have it the worst. The best thing to do is be up front with your friend, and make him tell you who he wants to bring, if he can't do that then just give him a flat out NO. I always tell my brides that guest will talk no matter what you do. There is no way to make everyone happy so just do what makes you happy. It's your day and you can't let anyone bring you down.
I keep telling myself that all the guest that have been complaining about my wedding plans (and there are a lot) are just jealous that they couldn't have a Disney wedding or their sons/daughters couldn't have a Disney wedding. It will all work out, try not to worry to much
I really like your thank you cards and menu cards, they look fun.
Happy planning.

Hi Caryn! I know exactly how you feel about the guest drama. DF and I had planned TWO other weddings prior to this one and each time, everyone elses opinions have totally gotten to me because I'm being a huge perfectionist on this whole wedding thing as well and there just becomes a point when everyone else's added stress and bickering about what you decide becomes too much so I've just said &*^% it, I can't deal with this. I know it's kind of childish but it got to the point where DF and I were paying for EVERYTHING for EVERYBODY on stuff that we didn't want/didn't like! I finally told his mom, if that's the way she wants it, she can pay for it. So anyway, we got engaged at Disneyland and that was our original plan, but at the time we got engaged and started planning, it just wasn't in our budget. So now when we decided WDW it is and that it would be so perfect for us, DF's dad went off on us saying it's such a huge "burden" and "hardship" we're putting on everyone, and we just told everybody "this is what we're doing, if you want to come, come" (it really bugged us because DF's parents spent 30K going to Africa last year, but couldn't spend $1500 to go to our wedding.. :rolleyes1) Anyway, like a week later he called and asked us where we normally order our tickets for WDW or DL because they wanted to go for their anniversary this November! So DF had a long talk with him.. Anyway, sorry for the long reply and venting myself, but I just wanted to say that I totally feel your pain with the guest drama! Hopefully it'll get better soon! Atleast we have the wonderful DIS brides to keep us together :)

Hey girlie. Don't stress. Honestly, we're all stressed out. It's all going to be wonderful! It's your day and it is hard to plan, but you're already ahead of the game. You have had so much done and you've been very frugal and creative.

As for you friend inviting extra people, I agree with everyone else. Let him bring them to Disney but not your wedding. Most people understand that weddings are super expensive - and if he doesn't, send him my way and I'll kick him in the butt :)

Anyway, good job, good luck, and it's all going to be okay.

Hey there ... I just "found" your PJ! I love your invites. I also made my invites. Another site (that I think is a bit cheaper that Paper-Source) is www.paperandmore.com. I did a google search for Stardream Paper and after comparing a bunch of prices they were the best!

Paper Source is local for me so I do often shop there but they don't have the FULL stardream line of colors! :D

You ordered the "Butter" placecards didn't you? That's what it looks like. That's the color I ordered too. I completely understand what you are saying about them looking like post-it notes. I kind of felt that way too. But I did my mock up and I'm really happy with them. Especially when I picture them next to the slate blue tablecloth. You have a blue tablecloth with a white overlay. What color of blue is the tablecloth? Is the overlay see-through? I will take a photo of mine and post it to my PJ later today. My flower is much bigger than yours and I added green behind it to simulate leaves. I just have to decide on the right marker color. I think it could make a huge difference in the look.

I never commented about your slip color - it looks great. I normally don't like brown, but I think your truffle wedding is pushing me over. It's all going to be so pretty.

Your invitations turned out beautiful. Those envelopes did make all the difference. You deserve a pat on the back for making them work. They really do look like they were tailored exactly for your wedding. Have you gotten your stamps so you can send them out? Getting the RSVPs back is so exciting and makes it all a little more real.

I can't wait to hear about the cookies. We might not be getting as many guests as I expected, so I am back to toying with the idea of making martha's cookie mini wedding cakes. I am taking the week before the wedding off of work. If this was somehow the only major thing I had to do, I think I could get it done. Plus, my mom would be in town to help me. Where did you buy your cookie cutters? Good luck and keep us posted.

i got the cookie cutters at michaels, they are actually fondant cutters. i got them in circles and squares. i'm waiting for my next paper source delivery to arrive, then i'll do tests of all the place card samples and colors, i can't wait to see yur pics, i might need a bigger flower, i just panicked and couldn't find one that i like, so i got the small ones! the original place cards are butter, i think i might use all three colors. our tables have a blue tablecloth with a white overlay, so i'm hoping to coordinate, though, i'm not sure how well brown is going to go...we'll see...we're having a table of 10 for our head table, i might just use brown for those people! i did order from zazzle stamps, waiting for that to arrive as well...

i say it over and over again, weddings do funny things to people. i hope you work it out with your fil's! i'm trying not to let everyone get to me, it just makes me so mad when people complain about my wedding! HELLO! you already had a wedding!!!!

i think that some people are just generally clueless...that's the only thing i can come up with.

I agree with everything you're saying here. I'm going through some major fmil drama (beyond the red top) and I'm just soooo over it. She had her wedding. This is not her wedding. It's not even her daughter's wedding. It's her son's. I can't understand why she's trying to ruin things for me. I don't know why she can't just be happy and celebrate. She's now decided not to come to my shower and she doesn't have a guest list for the shower... grrrrr. Now I'm going to wear my sunglasses all the time and refer to them as my "hater blockers" lololololololol

Have you seen the gold mickey garland on disneyshopping.com?

http://disneyshopping.go.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/DSIProductDisplay?catalogId=10002&storeId=10051&productId=1217239&langId=-1&categoryId=14398

I don't know where you could use it, but when I saw it I thought of you and your beautiful truffle and gold color scheme. Maybe it could be on the guest book table or buffet tables or something. It is plastic so I'm not sure how good it is, obviously it wouldn't work if it was cheap looking. But it's gold and it's mickey so it might be worth checking out.

ok, so i officially have some bad news. our honeymoon cruise has been CANCELLED. i could cry. i have cried! this is so horrible!!! now we have to actually do research to find out what kind of cruise we want to do...i have my heart set on a cruise. i'm trying to find something out of either miami or galvestone...any suggestions? there is a 13 day transatlantic cruise leaving from galveston and it's only $800/pp...CHEAP. but that's a lot of time on a boat and since we've never been on a cruise...might not be the best idea...UGH! and i don't know if i want to leave my cats for that long. df has said he just wants to go to miami for awhile and sit by a pool, but we do that quite often and it's not "honeymoonish." ugh, i'm so annoyed. the best thing about the original cruise was that it was FREE. free honeymoons are the best.

another thing is that my stupid stamps came in from zazzle and they are SUPER dark. like, you can barely see the pic. i am SO OVER these stupid invitations that i don't even care. no sirree. i don't. so i'm going to use them on my responder envelopes and be done with the drama. invites are going out tomorrow. I'M OVER IT.

one VERY GOOD THING happened today though! we got our first wedding present from our Williams Sonoma registry!!! a cake server!!! df said, "we registered for a cake server?" and i said, "DUH, we registered for 2" and he said, "but you don't even bake cakes?!?" so i quickly donned a pair of hater blockers and advised him that i will be baking cakes in the future. men are so clueless.

good night!

Congrats! How exciting.

FYI - I watched the video that someone linked to about the Disney Bridals and they featured the Belle gown that we both liked. I still like it, but I didn't like the way it moved when the model walked. It may have been the stuff she was wearing underneath it, but the dress just looked really stiff. I'm still going to try it on (before I look at the price tag)

ok, so with invitations done, now i move onto dress drama. AGAIN. this is so aggravating...the first dress i tried on, i really wanted, but was talked out of it for stupid stupid reasons. i saw it in the bridal magazines and knew it was the one, now i don't have it and i'm sad. here it is, i think it's fabulous (and btw, this is how i'm having my hair done)...

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/thumbphp.jpg

and it on me, with no crinnie...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/Photo_083007_003.jpg

i am begining to regret so much about this wedding. seriously (as they would say on grey's)...so i'm going to go dress shopping this weekend with my best friend. david's makes a similar dress. i really liked it, but i let my families pressure get to me. AGUH! df is so annoyed hearing all this that he told me to just go buy another dress and put mine on ebay. a thought...

here is a pic of the wax seal on my envelopes...

i need to get over the dress drama.

I'm sorry about the dress drama. I really like the favorite one. I'll have to search through the thread to find out what the original one looks like. If you can find an affordable one that is like this one, I'd go for it.

I've been thinking that if I were to do an Escape wedding, I might consider a tea length dress for my self. i just want 2008 to get here so that I can find out if the surprise is the BIG question!

I have to say - I really like the blue sash dress too! But why would anyone talk you out of it? Also, can you not go back and buy the one you tried on now that you know it's what you want?

CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING DONE!!! I'll have a margarita for you when I get home ;)

I'm not going to add a whole lot to the PJ scrapbook. I posted most of the pics that were my inspiration, but I may print them out on photo paper. I saved all my wedding related receipts and I want to add them also.

I never had the whole "this is the one" moment with my dress. I wanted a mermaid cut, just to be different, but everyone talked me into the big poofy ball gown. I love my dress, its absolutely gorgeous, but I kinda wish I would've had that moment where I knew it was the one.

If that's what you're feeling then buy the second dress and put the other one on ebay. You definitely wont be the first to do the same thing. The last thing you want is to regret one of the most important wedding day decisions! Although, you'd almost have to get the one at Davids because most other stores have to order special and it takes like 3 months. Good luck! Keep us posted!

about davids, i'm hoping that they'll let me exchange the veil for a white one...

so i went on ebay and found fave dress in white/white or ivory/blue for 350...good deal. i think they can send it quickly as they say they have it in stock. i don't want the blue because it clashes with my colors...or does it? i think it does, so i'm goign to go for white/white since there's no ivory option...SHOULD I GET IT? i'm so stressed...if i got the white one, i could wear my pink crinnie, purpleish hoop and my fave pink shoes with it...january 24 just needs to get here.

$350 is not bad at all! Is it the same Designer? I would do white/white, but I know you were against it from the start. I like white, its easier to coordinate colors and its classic. Blue and truffle may look ok, but im not sure about all the yellows.

Relax... go have a glass of wine :) After some fake & baking the white dress will look absolutely amazing! What's $350 compared to Disney's event minimums? I'm sure you've spent more at Michaels in the last month ;) Then you can compare the 2 and know for sure that you're picking the right one.

I say if you really love that dress, just get it! $350 is a fantastic price! You might secretly end up loving the white, and your fabulous pink crinnie would be so great under the white dress... :thumbsup2

When I ordered my dress, the one I tried on was a candlelight color, like diamond white. It was romantic and gorgeous, but I had had my heart set on wearing white. I agonized over the decision, and decided on the white (mind you my mom, aunt, and sister told me to they loved the candlelight). I worried about it all day, but then put it out of my mind. When it came in, I was so glad I went with the white, because it was every bit as gorgeous as I had hoped it would be... :)

I think you would look good in the white. I'm half Italian, but I don't have the coloring that my father's family has. The Polish part of me took over my skin. I do tan nicely (after I burn once). I'd go with the white/white one if I were you.

i totally did it. i just ordered the original dress in white with a white sash. it's kind of bittersweet...i somewhat grew attached to the old dress, but it wasn't "right." i feel like i'm losing my best friend or something, it's sad <see how dramatic i am?:rolleyes1 >. the dress should be here in 2 weeks or so. i guess i'll try them both on, post pics and see what you girls think...

on another note, i finally got my beo (minus floral) and it's a bit more than we expected...they totally overestimate for bar, that's where i think this extra is coming from...it's about 4k over from what i had thought originally...

what do we think about no food at cocktail hour? just a thought...

cryssi

yay for ordering the dress!

About the cocktail hour...what were you planning to have? Since our dinner buffet was $75/person, we went "econo" with crudites, cheese, and fruit. No hot or passed hors d'oeurves. From what I saw in pics it looked good, though...

Also, no bar, just champagne punch and non-alchoholic punch...

our menu is extensive, it too is abut 75/pp...i have an anitpasto currently at 13/pp...i don't want everyone to fill up on food at the pre-reception and then not eat the fabulous brunch that i have planned...decisions decisions...i'm nervous about the floral budget, that might be a little high since i'm a size queen with my bouquet...

I had to pipe in early, since I saw your update..

Veil 2 and 3 look good, with #2 as my favorite, but (and don't hate me for this!!)..

Caryn I think our mother will have a FIT if you wear something like that. Are you sure they'll match your new dress? Another thought: what about all of the tiaras you bought? Will you wear them with the veils? I'm very confused.
Are having having red wine or white wine for your favors? I think you need to have at least a little food at your pre reception. I don't think a lot of people will have had breakfast so it would be nice to have a little snack. I like snacks.
And now, because I know you like it :3dglasses

HATER BLOCKERS! i need that from your last post lindsay22...

i've decided to forgo the tiara idea for right now...the cage veil is SO ME and you (and mommy) totally know it. she got so mad at me, i told her i was going to wear grandma's blue ring on a chain around my neck (circa; carrie sex and the city-very fitting i might add), she almost had palpitations...i'm ALSO thinking of trading in some things at davids, if they let me, and getting a loooooooong truffle sash to match you kids, maybe a fur wrap and some opera length gloves...but i'm not going to make any moves until i get my new dress...i'm hoping i don't have to have it altered to death...

here's a pic of the truffle sash, i can add a pin in the middle...

I'm not sure what I think about the new veils. Do they have one at Davids you can try on? The birdcage looked cute on Reese in Sweet Home Alabama, but I'm not a big veil fan. I'm only wearing mine for the ceremony, and I refuse to cover my face with it.

Love the sash! I was going to suggest getting a truffle sash to match your color scheme (and your crinnie LOL).

I still can't believe you are getting another dress.

Ooh - congrats on getting those invitations out. Way to go :cheer2:

i know, i think this is a new sash that david's is carrying! the sash on dress #2, is not attached, you just tie it...so it should work out well...ok, so i'm not normally a veil queen either, but i really like this one...my grandmother also had a good point, minus the poofy dress, the veil sets us apart as "brides," it's like our signature for the day...it was a good point. the cage veils are fantastic, they are very chic, at least i think...i LOVE fashion, so this fits well. they don't have one at davids, but i was going to try to make one myself, but don't want to bother, anyway, i went to the fabric store and took some french tulle and put it over my face, i actually really liked it! it goes with my 40's shoe clips!

I still can't believe you are getting another dress.

i know, i'm crazy! i don't know what crinnie i'm going to wear yet, i'll try all three on with the dress when it arrives!!!

i know, i think i was totally going off on a limb with the other dress/ensemble. i feel much better going forward!

i had this idea, i'm slightly aggravated with my beo, not totally, but enough, and i don't even have my floral budget yet...which i think will be high...so i'm re-thinking my floral...

i found myself on martha's website the other day and came across this...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/beadedbout.jpg

i showed it to df and he LOVED it, like TOTALLY LOVED IT. i was actually surprised, i thought he was going to laugh at me. so that's what we're going to do for his bout...i'm going to make it, you can get most of that stuff at michaels! they even have the green leaves already made, i just have to find the pearl things...i'm wondering if i should make them for the dads/grandpa as well...they also have silver/clear leaves instead of green ones, to mix it up a bit...so we'll see!!! i'm excited about them!!!

now what to do with my sisters...does anyone know how much the rose wands cost? they're only going to have three roses in them, if they're not outrageous, then i'll keep them, but if they are, we're going with beaded/crystal flower balls or silk flower wands...i'm not changing my bouquet of course, i'm a size queen and want it to be HUGE (which is probably why the floral budget is going to be so much).

two and a half months left...

Caryn I can do a boutineer for Mark if you'd like. It wouldn't take me any time at all and that way I could get some practice for our bouquets if you decide to go with the crystal. Let me know

I like the beaded boutonniere!

FYI... Disney's boutonnieres are only $10 or $12, its the bouquets you need to worry about. Also, colored napkins, extra table linens and chair covers (for extra tables) are a bit pricey... theres not much you can do about it, but that was a big surprise to me in my floral BEO.

we will see, kristen has a good point, they aren't that expensive. i might just make mark his, since he really wants it, and leave the roses that i originally chose for dad's/grandpa...

i'm worried about my bouquet, which, to be honest, if it's $500 and gorgeous, i don't care...i think my centerpieces are going to be what throws me over the edge, when i had my planning session, she said that they "should be under 100 each," but the thing about lss is that the tables are small, so i have to have 12 (at least)!!!

i didn't add any extra linen. there is already colored linen in the lss and i had a hard time spending money on different napkins...people are just going to wipe their mouths with them...why should i pay extra for that? i mean, i understand when princess di and queen elizabeth spend extra money on silk napkins so the royalty won't chafe their lips, but please, my reception is at epcot, not the white house!!! besides, it looks like lss is super colorful as it is and my centerpieces will add color as well...

the martha stewart cookies are a no go. i'm going to substitute them with a mini candy buffet in the welcome bags with a little tag that says "enjoy the sugar rush and remember that love is sweet." i'm not sure where i saw that, but it's adorable. i'm going to get colorful, bulk candy and HUGE round lollipops and those mickey balloon lollipops, in a clear cellophane bag...

the cookies are a huge pain in the butt. i still have half the dough, so i'm going to make texas shaped cookies for christmas...

i ordered my new veil and got an email saying that my dress will be on the way soon...

got the floral budget. that one hurt. my centerpeices are $1750. ouch. my bouquet is $350, but i'm ok with that...though she didn't get the colors right on the budget, so i emailed her to correct it. i'm having a hard time getting over the $3 votives. a really hard time.

i can't beleive there's no mail today (veteran's day), my texas guests should get their invitations today! i can't wait for the rsvp's to come in!!! my mother is dissappointed that i didn't have them sent there, but i feel much better having control of it here...i know that sounds bad, but i want the rsvp's for my scrapbook and that won't happen if i don't get them...

I wish I had the guts to be as fashion forward as you! Gloves, birdcage veil, truffle sash, and all the jewelry... I stick with the classic easy route... big poufy white dress, tiara, swarovski necklace & earrings and finger tip veil.

Btw... your centerpieces were $145 each? and they told you it'd be $100? does that include the votives? this is exactly what annoys me about Disney! Nowhere on wishbook does it mention $145 centerpieces. Is there anything you can take out or change? Or are you fed up enough that you're just gonna pay it?

The fee is $35/hour to put out more than 3 items per table (so I guess if you wanted a ton of votives, they'd charge you). I doubt they spend more than an hour setting up, so it seems like $35 is a bargain compared to how much they'd charge you per centerpiece for something more elaborate...

Sunshine1 (I think!) did candy displays. What if instead of a candy bar you had a different kind of candy as a centerpiece at each table? Of course then you might have everyone jockeying to sit at the tables with the best candy :rotfl:

hey c .. so ive been reading all these posts and ill tell ya IM NEVER GETTING MARRIED! One mom will never let me after yours and two .. ur so indecisive!!!! Ill be honest, im not so sure I like those viels - those are funny looking. Remember when we were at grams' house and you showed us taht one veil by Oscar? We all laughed and said how stupid it looked .. NOW YOUR GETTING ONE??? Grandpa will be pleased .. he liked it! I like the truffle shash idea! It will look nice with our dresses. As for centerpieces, maybe im just frugal but why exactly do you need those? All they do is get in the way of people talking and then you have to give them back? Who needs that? I say if you MUST have centerpieces make the liquor the center pieces. You know like a couple of different sized bottles of wine or something! Anyway, im making my reservations this week. Good luck with all these plans. Only two more months so you gotta get crackin!

Also, Figment Fan bought all her own snowglobes during various sales and stuff. Maybe more work than you have time for....

Hi there -
I've been lurking here for awhile and thought I'd take this opportunity to post.
First, I've read all your planning journal and enjoyed it very much. You have way more energy than should be allowed! j/k
Second, having been a wedding florist for almost 30 years, I feel that I can maybe speak a little to your cp dilemma.
The cps you picked are expensive for several reasons: First, you're using a rectangular vase. These and square vases are always more expensive than round because they aren't produced/sold in the mass quantities that round ones are. Your vase probably has a retail of roughly $40-50. Second, from the looks of it it's fairly sizable - which you would want for 10-toppers, but maybe too large for 6 or 8 toppers. Next, figure around 25-35% of the cost is design. More on bridal party work. (Heck, it's Disney - I'd figure the high side) Floral arranging is an art, just like photography--the people that do it are trained artists. Yes, grandpa Al could take your wedding pictures with his Polaroid, but would they actually be what you wanted? Same deal here. And if your flowers are ruined, it tends to show in the pictures, too.
The pittosporum in there isn't expensive, but you might try to replace the fillers with white wax flower for a similar look at less of a cost. Also consider that although lemons will be less expensive than the seckel pears that are pictured, you'll still likely have $20 worth of fruit in there. Just because they grow in Florida doesn't mean they're free! I certainly understand that $145 feels like a lot for a centerpiece - it is. But consider that more of the "prime rib" option. If your budget is feeling more "hamburger-ish", then go with hamburgers, Still tastes great, but a cheaper option. Look for things like carnations, alstroemeria, mums--there's some very cool mums out there now. These would all be less $ for you. I hope you work it all out, and keep in mind the one truly important thing: at the end of your wedding day, no matter what little bumps happen, you and your true love will be married. And that's really what it's all about, isn't it?
Best of luck to you.

Dagnabbit! I looked through my huge stack o' wedding mags and couldn't find that article on cheap-o centerpieces. But I do have this pic of something we were considering. Rose suggested using glass marbles instead of blueberries to keep the cost down. I never did get a quote on this one though...

Hey Caryn,

Nice job on the bouts and place cards.

Here is another thought for your centerpieces:
Why don't you go back to your planner or floral person (not sure who you have to deal with on the flowers) and give them a $$ number you are comfortable working with or spending for the centerpieces. Tell them the colors you'd like & shape or look you are going for then ask them to send you suggestions of what they could do for you.

Making your own would probably save you the most money and allow you to be even more creative (which we know you love), but since you will also need to figure out how to get the items to Disney - more work and maybe more $ - and since you will probably have to pay Disney to set them out anyway, and since they can probably come up with something really pretty - it might be worth it to just scale it back and see what they can come up with for you. Then one less worry for you...

WOW!!! LOTS of responses to greet me this morning!!! THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!! i have come to two conclusions...below...

I LOVE LOVE LOVE  these veils. I'm doing a very retro 1940's hollywood glam theme and DF & Co. are doing a "mobster" look. I thought about doing a short net veil like this but I asked DF his opinion on veils and he scrunched up his face. So, one less thing for us to spend money on. But I LOOOOOOVE them and I will live vicariously through you! :thumbsup2

thanks! i LOVE the 40's! it was such a romantic, strong, feminine time in women's fashion!!!

caryn ... what if i made your center pieces? I can get lemons and what not and some silk flowers and make them up really nice! It could be your xmas present maybe?! Let me know if youd like that.

that's sooooo much work megs! we need a whopping 14 of them and that would be one more thing to drag all the way down there...

ooo i love the beaded bouts..great job:thumbsup2

thanks! they are still a work in progress!!!

Caryn, you've been productive today! I love the bouts... especially the one with the calla lilly! The place cards look great too, the one in the middle is my fav. How'd you do the numbers? Just glue and glitter? Or stencil?

Why dont you ask if you can make your own centerpieces and just pay for Disney Floral to set out votives or something.

Btw, I agree with your sister... yay for liquor as centerpieces!

the #'s are rubber stamps that i embossed!!! i didn't want to use mickey's...but the flowers i bought were too small, so i'm going to improvise with my mickey head cut out until i'm more inspired...

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/winebottletables.jpg
this is martha stewart fun...

Caryn,
You've been a busy bee today. I really like the beaded bouts. They are really creative. You could probably sneak a Mickey in there too...I always love the chance to sneak Mickey in my designs.

Looking good. I think if you can pull off the birdcage veil, you should wear it! It's definately not me, but I think it would be very chic on you!

i put teeny-tiny little swarowski crystals on the teeny-tiny ribbons that are going on the bout's, they have to be so small because my df said, "don't make them all girly, we're MEN." as if there was any question of that.

Hi there -
I've been lurking here for awhile and thought I'd take this opportunity to post.
Best of luck to you.

tinklynn, your post has helped me more than you can know! i have a $210 rental fee for my vases...she did the flowers that she chose to match my bouquet, which is $350, but i'm ok with that since i plan on keeping it forever...you've helped me come to one of my possible solutions...

Dagnabbit! I looked through my huge stack o' wedding mags and couldn't find that article on cheap-o centerpieces. But I do have this pic of something we were considering. Rose suggested using glass marbles instead of blueberries to keep the cost down. I never did get a quote on this one though...

http://i157.photobucket.com/albums/t63/lurkyloo/Planning%20Journal/Candlecenterpiece.jpg

something like this would be effective...

Then one less worry for you...

yeah, since i have to decorate my house now for christmas and i'm hosting thanksgiving, the wedding crafts are about to stop...

those are so beautiful and unique. have the floral department try them. they can always cut down the size. they did that for the bouquets for me and i saved a good amount of money!!

this is one of my conculsions, your's looked fantastic though!!!

Caryn where did you get the opal paper you used for your invites? Can you use it in a laser printer?

it's star dream, you can get it on paper source, though it's kind of expensive there, i got it locally at a store called xpedx...there is a link a couple of pages back that has a replacement for it that's really cheap...

MY CENTERPEICE CONCLUSIONS (i lied, i have more than 2...)
1. decreasing the size and making them round is #1...possibly losing either fruit or the flowers is another option...tinklynn is right, the tables are small...
***Thaks Aunt Jeanne for emailing me those thinks, they bring me to numbers 2 and 3...***
2. i didn't even think about pinecones, that is a good idea, especially for the winter...it brings the outside in...i could place them around the...
3. edible centerpeices- this is one of my brain child ideas that goes with kristen's sandcastles...the chocolate castle cake toppers...how do we feel about this? is this allowed??? would the votive melt them? we could put them on glass blocks that look like ice.

am i losing it? am i going over the top with 2 and 3...

thanks for the input, i appreciate it soooooooo much!!!

Why do I keep imagining that you should have fishbowls with marbles and goldfish as your centerpieces??? goldfish are cheap, right??? Crazy I know! But what can I say. I'm just here to throw in my crazy thoughts and ideas.

And I LOVE THE VEIL STILL! I say wear it. I love it. (I'm seriously reconsidering, I think I would love to wear it too!)

Just a little note about the white chocolate castles.. I remember seeing somewhere that the larger one is something like $275 and the small one is $125, on top of whatever Disney would charge you for the glass blocks, it might not be much cheaper. I'd ask about it though, I think it's a cool idea! :thumbsup2

go on www.birdcageveils.com, the lady who owns the company's name is Melody and she's very sweet. she even called me to discuss my veil! i couldn't beleive it!!!

you're goldfish idea is so funny, being a crazy cat lady, we feel it morally right that we DO NOT have any fish in our house...anyways, the lss has a built in goldfish bowl...i could just see asking my wp, "uhhh, marion, can we borrow one or two of the little fishies for my centerpeices? i'm trying to keep costs down..."

I found the article on cheap centerpieces! It's in the Nov/Dec issue of Brides. Some of them are like $30, although there's still the whole assembling them and shipping them thing.

Can Disney do edible fruit centerpieces as suggested by one poster? Or would those be just as expensive? I think your pinecones idea would be nice too. Piles and piles of pinecones with votives would look cool!

I think I read on someones report that Disney would not do the edible fruit centerpieces. A friend of my had really interesting shaped breadsticks as her centerpiece in a glass vase. They were very long and flat and artsey shaped. This was not at Disney - but they looked great. Maybe you could check out what type of breadsticks they can provide.

Also, I am sure you would not want to go with this but something I am thinking of is balloon centerpieces. I saw pictures ages ago on this website that a bride had them at Atlantic Dance Hall. They looked great. Her bridesmaids were in like a lavender/purple and they had Mickey shaped lavender/purple balloons along with some white ones and then a mylar celebration balloon. I printed this out but it is at home and I do not remember who the bride was. It sounds like for a kids party but it really looked great and if we use ADH we are thinking of going with this.

Caryn!

I just wanted to let you know you inspired me and I ordered a veil from birdcageveils.com! I talked to Melody on my way from work to school, she was very sweet. She said my veil should go out next week! She's trying to get it to me in enough time so that if I have to exchange it, we have time to do that. Thank You for the inspiration! :goodvibes Okay, I gotta print some stuff for school and get to class.

i bet the reason they don't let you have anything edible is because then it would have to go through epcot catering, and not disney floral. politics...

the balloon idea sounds good, but i have this thing about balloons...my aunt's who are reading this will laugh, when i was a very young child someone gave me a balloon and it popped right in front of my face and i was terrified of them for my whole childhood. i used to scream, "no balloons, no balloons" when i was a kid...i'm not still scared of them, but they make me feel uneasy...so...no balloons. my father suggested the same thing and i was like, "uh dad, we can't have balloons at my wedding." he understood...it's a shame really, that would be the best, most colorful, cheapest option. oh well.

i will be sending laura kidd an email this evening regarding the centerpeices, she's really busy right now (apparently there are only 2 disney florists...), so we'll see how this goes.

it suddenly occurred to me that i still don't have a good solid plan for df's attire...i think we're going to do a jacket like this, with an ascot tie and i'm undecided about the shirts...

this one is 1300 from neimans

Hi Caryn
The veil looks nice, mommy likes it a lot!! We can't wait to see pictures of your new dress. David's Bridal (shockingly) told Dad that they didn't have my dress, after they told me that it has been sitting in their back room for the past two months because they neglected to ship it. They are not getting a good report card. Now, about your centerpieces... I think if you did something really simple, a mirror with 3 different sized candles would be fine. To be honest with you, I think centerpieces are kind of a waste of money and no one really notices them unless they're hideous so you shouldn't get so stressed about it. Maybe you could take some truffle and yellow ribbon and make a bow around the candles. As soon as I get the labels for the water bottles I will post a picture of them. I'll also post a picture of the m&m bags. You know, the more I think about it, the more I think simple centerpieces are the way to go. You reception venue is so different to begin with, you don't really need to worry about decorating it. Centerpieces usually spice up a boring room, but your room is already spicy without centerpiecs. Maybe the next time I go to Epcot I'll try to peek in and get some more ideas...

not too much to report...i decided to send off for our marriage license. i have to pick my battles with df, making him go off disney property to get a marriage license is a fight i'm not looking forward to, so i sent the paperwork off today...they lady michele in the brevard county courthouse was so nice and even emailed me a confirmation that she received it! how sweet!

i have a phone meeting with laura kidd...after much consideration, i'm going to keep the boys bout's...though i'm changing marks to be a yellow rose with a small ivory tea rose. no greenery though. i don't know what it is about greenery, not my favorite...i'm also going to make my bouquet all roses. none of the other drama. and i want it to be golden/butter/tan/ivory/cream/yellow roses in those shades and it still has to be HUGE. still not decided on cp's. i need help. i'm sure laura will have more hamburger like ideas. though i agree with what others have said about the minimalist approach, there is already so much in that room...i'm thinking rose petals (since i can't have an aisle runner at sbp for fear of them blowing away) and the $3 votives. that should be enough...i'll just have to try and not be my clumsy self and set things on fire...

the usps is officially making me mad. they have lost 2 invitations, one of which is disneymegs. ANNOYING.

i made labels for my m+m boxes and water bottles, they are cute on so many serious levels!!! i sent them to lindsay22 today, she'll get them on wed and will be assembling them on friday with my parents!!!

less than 48 hours and i will have my new dress :hippie: !

df got called into some business meeting, so i have a busy wedding craft night ahead of me as i watch jennie garth slaughter everyone on dancing with the stars...

the first thing at hand...
YELLOW ROSES ***thanks victoria for reminding me to do this...i almost forgot*** now, onto the show....

to start, mark's bout, but with one or two cream colored/tan colored tea roses
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/yellowbout.jpg

ok, this is NOT what i want...

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/yellow-idontwant.jpg

so what's wrong with that you say? i think they look like polka dots, the colors need to flow, also NO GREENERY!!!

COLORS THAT I WANT INCLUDED...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/trueyellowroses.jpg
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/creamyellowroses.jpg

http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/biggoldrose.jpg

now for the biggie...i LOVE this bouquet, we just need to incorporate some of the above colors in here, but they have to FLOW...

i'm hoping that lindsay will post the water bottles/boxes as soon as they are done.

well, i had a bit of an issue with this...we have a color laser printer, and every single type of transfer paper i bought melted in the printer, so i finally got fed up and bought transfers on ebay. so mark and i went out this morning to run some thanksgiving errands...i put a note on the door to make sure ups would leave the box...upon arriving home, there it was!!!

now i got slightly nervous, that box certainly didn't look big enough to house a bridal gown...

they had that baby packed in there so tight, you have no idea-this is great though, i saw how they did it (turned the dress inside out-not an easy feat-and put it folded in a plastic bag) and now i can carry my dress safely on the plane in a suitcase...

moving on, here are my self portraits...

wow, thanksgiving is over. that's amazing... it is SO COLD HERE...ok, cold is a relative term, it's in the 40's...but that's about as cold as it gets here and me no likey...i cooked for three days solid and i think it went over well with the fpil...df was so happy, i NEVER cook, so i don't think he ever thought i could...now it's christmas cookie/candy time!!! i love chrismtas cookies! though, that doesn't fare well with the wedding weight loss plan...

i have a phone meeting with laura kidd today and i'm really excited!!! she sent me an email this morning with pics of the chocolate favors available! I LOVE THEM! i'm going to use these for people who don't drink/my younger cousins (since our favors are wine). i'm also going to change the centerpeices to flower petals, or daisies with votives...and i'm going to add mark's bout back in as discussed above...i don't know what to do with my bouquet...should i leave the hydrangea's? or make it all roses? i'm going to dry it with keepsake, will the hydrangea's look weird? or will they add depth? i was going to make it all yellows, take out the offwhites, i might do that and add the tan roses in so it doesn't look like i'm carrying a big sun...decisions decisions, i'm going to leave that one to the pros...

fashion update

so i have to go to david's and exchange my old veil, wrap and the ivory money bag that i bought to carry my reception shoes. i'm not going near any stores today, so i'll go on monday...i'm going to get matte satin opera length gloves and i'm toying with the idea of a fur wrap...i'm feeling like it might be cold on a january morning...and if i don't use it, i can use it later...i'm also going to get a colored satin clutch and have that be my purse, probably pink. i'm not having anything borrowed...i'm doing something old, something new, something pink and something blue. the purse should be easy to find since it's the holiday time.

i'm very happy that they got my huge dress into such a tiny box...i think i'm going to get those vacuum bags and put my dress/crinoline in there...that way i can carry the whole thing on the plane (minus the hoop skirt, i don't think they'll let me take metal on a plane).

now onto the bracelet dilema...i found swarovski's belle bracelet on ebay and i love it (though it looks like a vera wang knock off from a few years ago...). it's 150. i don't want to buy it without trying it on, because i have super tiny wrists, i usually have to get kids bracelets...i'm hoping that when we go outlet shopping in austin next week that they'll have it at the swarovski outlet (i doubt it since it's discontinued)...the other bracelet option is a HUGE (i'm such a size queen) art deco type rhinestone bracelet. it has to be big to go over the gloves...i was discussing this with my favorite drag queen the other night, heshe and i will be going jewelry shopping this week...maybe i'll get some huge earrings to go with the whole ensemble...i'd like something like these, though they are harry winston and a bit out of my budget...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/sjp_dress.jpg
btw, this is my fave pic ever. i love sjp and she looks so beautiful there!!!

When you said a few posts back that you were gonna wear your grandmothers ring around your neck i IMMEDIATELY thought of Carrie wearing Aiden's engagement ring around her neck:rotfl:

What did Disney Floral say about your flower petal centerpieces? What flowers did you ask about? and did she quote you a price??

You should go with all roses for your bouquet. It cant possibly that much more expensive, and even if it is, its YOUR bouquet so you can be a size queen if you want :cool2:

BTW... I love love your "something old, something new, something pink, something blue" ;)

2 months and counting...time flies when you're havin fun on the disboards...

i'm a total carrie wannabe...

FLORAL UPDATE...

i had an excellent conversation with laura kidd yesterday...we came to the following conclusions...

my bouquet will be 60 roses with shades of yellow and sahara roses...

mark's bout will be one yellow rose with 2 white or ivory tea roses (depending on his attire...)

the floral wands and all other bouts/corsages will be sahara roses instead of cream...

i added 10 mickey mouse hat chocolate favors for my little guests (these are so freaking cute!)

centerpieces

i decided not to go with the flower petals as they were going to be almost as expensive as our solution, which is...
-decrease size of original cp's by more than half, use these on 1 out of 5 tables
-have two other types of cp's for the other tables, alternating just fruit in some and just flowers in the others
-head table will have vases for bouquet/floral wands...

these changes knocked 1200 off the floral budget, actually, more than that since i added the favors...total for cp's is 832.56...PERFECT! that includes tax and all rental fees!

in other news, our rsvps have started coming in, we get 2 or so a day! very exciting!!! so far our guest count is up to 37, 37 in itself is a pretty nice crowd, so i'm happy! i think we'll get to like 60ish, which is good! my mother, father, sister and her dbf put together our water bottles and m+m boxes this week, hopefully she'll post pics!

2 months, wow...it's so amazing to me! christmas is almost here, i went to see the nutcracker last night, one of my girlfriends that i used to dance with in hs is in the houston ballet and she was magnificent!!! we're going to nj in less than a month for christmas, this time is going to fly by! my best friends are going with me this week to get my new dress bustled...i'm not sure what kind of bustle would look good with it...we'll leave that one to the pros!

well, the weather here is miserable and will continue to be so for the next few days, i have a cold so i'm staying in and obsessing over place cards!!!

i have done nothing but sit in front of my printer for the last 3 hours. EVERYTHING is printed, well, i ran out of stardream, so i still need to print out 15 menu cards...good enough though...i feel like i'm finally making a bit of progress, i printed all of the programs and program inserts, most of the menu cards, the welcome letters and door hangers...so i still have to put most of this together, i'm waiting until after christmas sales for this ribbon i found at target that i want for the programs, if i can get it on sale i will, but i need a ton of it...here, as always, are pics of my progress...

door hangers, i'm still trying to find a tinkerbell stamp, so i can emboss it with gold glitter on top of the castle...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0331.jpg

here are my welcome letters, they are 4 pages long...they include the transportation schedule, important information about disney (and info on what to do if they miss the bus to the ceremony), fun facts about mark & caryn, fun facts about disney and stuff that mark and i recommend...tons of fun here!
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0333.jpg

here are my menu cards, i especially like these...i did three different decoration on them, a yellow (curry) satin ribbon, a chocolate ribbon and a beaded wire ribbon...

Caryn,

Do you have a template you would be willing to send me for these letters, I would like to do something similar and it this be really useful for me if you have already compiled lots of information.
I'm also hoping to do some info packs soon for a couple of invited guests who are still unsure about coming, and I'm also hoping to do some small newsletters when flights and hotel rooms go on sale etc.
It would be really nice not to have to start from scratch - obviously you can delete anything personal to you, but having a template to use would be fantastic!

NB - I love the Borders so if you could leave those on that would be awesome!! x

And good luck with those interviews this week :thumbsup2

so i'm sick. i have no voice (mark is pleased) and i have a ton of stuff to do. one of my girlfriends put a message on my myspace page asking if i'm getting ready for christmas, i'm usually a christmas freak and would have already had my tree up, NOPE. i replied that the bridezilla haze is fogging everything in my vision excpet the wedding stuff. i'm not even in the mood to shop for christmas stuff!!! what is wrong with me? and i HATE being sick. i'm about to O.D. on cough drops. i have so much stuff to do. i need to get into the christmas spirit...UGH!

every single day i thank god that we chose the shortest engagement humanly possible. i would literally lose it if it were any longer. i REALLY wanted a december wedding. i mean REALLY REALLY wanted...but my mother wouldn't let me. so now i have to wait an extra month and have it come close to ruining my holiday...ok. i'm too negative. time to stop this post!

Im sick too - been sick all week .. its the one thing i hate about working in the hospitals (illness is the only work you can bring home with you). Anyway, your coming home soon and that will be fun. The wedding will be here before you know it then youll be complaining that you have nothing to plan anymore. As mom would say "enjoy it now" ok im going - later

What about the tinkerbell punch that disney sells? You could punch tink out ( that sounds funny) and then use stickles to glitter her up! Or ink and emboss her with a glittery embossing powder (like the castle?) Idk, just throwing stuff out there.

girl, i don't know how you do it. i wanted to get married asap, but that was vetoed...the earliest that my family could deal with was january, so here we are!!!

i can't find the tinkerbell punch...i've been to 2 michaels and hobby lobby...that would work perfectly because i could use that foam tape to make it stick out...agh!

i have some updates...i've been sick all week, i'm 80% better....

i braved david's bridal yesterday to make my returns...the only issue i had was that they wouldn't let me exchange my veil without buying a new one  , so i had to get 2 new ones to equal the price of the old one...i got a cathedral with crystals scattered on it and a fingertip with crystals scattered throughout. i figure i can try the cathedral with my cage and see how it looks, lose both of them for the reception and *possibly* wear the fingertip for my reception. if not then maybe my sisters will want them, or i can sell them...i also got a swarovski hair clip that's fantastic! i'll use it after the wedding, so i didn't mind spending $ on it...here's a pic.
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0349.jpg
then i also got the white fur wrap with the satin ribbon, i love it! i'm going to wear it backwards and a little off one shoulder, verrrrry vintage...and i got opera length gloves. this is something that mark REALLY wanted me to wear, he loves them for some reason! i'm going to take them off in the middle of the ceremony and hand them to my mom before the ring part. speaking of rings, mark decided he doesn't like his wedding band, he says it looks like a peice of "sawed off pipe." not the look we're going for, so the search is on...i also got my newest and last (i swear) pair of shoes...pic...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0341.jpg
these are for the ceremony, minus the rolled up ghetto camo pants, i added fmil's shoe clips to them. i have to say ladies, these are nine west and they are THE MOST comfortable flats EVER. i'm going to buy them in every color...they're a little more purple than i'd like, but it'll work...then, THE MOST AMAZING THING OCCURED IN TARGET...i was walking along, not thinking about the wedding (;)) and i happened upon this purse...pic...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0339.jpg
HOW FREAKING PERFECT! look at how it matches my reception shoes PERFECTLY!!! so excited! i just LOOOOOOVE IT!

then, i did my candy bags for my welcome bags, the dollar store loves me today, i had a field day...
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0336.jpg

and here's the ribbon i might add to the programs...how do we feel about it?
http://i136.photobucket.com/albums/q184/caryncraig/100_0338.jpg
i like the big ribbon idea, but can't find a solid brown one that i like that has wire in it...my craft stores are failing me miserably.

There's no such thing as too colorful! ;)

I like both pairs of earrings... maybe slightly leaning toward the dangly ones.

I looked for those flats on NineWest.com, but no dice. I am too lazy to drive to the mall looking for them, so no comfy flats for me!

Where are you? Have I missed something? I'm missing you being around. :upsidedow I hope you're not still  cuz that would totally suck.

Anyhow, question for you... You're shipping your dress to Carolyn Allens for steaming, correct? Do you have pricing on that?? I can't call them until I get out of work and I'm anixous today. Every time I finishish a big school project, I feel school pressure lift and wedding pressure set in. Eeeek!

CA quoted me $15 to store the dress and nothing but the cost of shipping to send it back uncleaned (it's $125 and up if you want cleaning and gown preservation, but mine's 100% polyester - I'm throwing that baby in the washing machine!). :rotfl:

Did you guys call or fill out the form online for the dress steaming?? I'm a huge emailer/online shopper, but for some reason... I don't trust it for these sorts of things where you're contracting a service. I just want someone to walk me through what I'm doing, ya know?

sorry for hijacking you PJ Caryn :rolleyes1 I probably could have started a thread about this, huh?
