Being there before/at opening, increase your chances of winning dream fastpasses?

We are going to be at/a little before opening for both MGM and AK. Does that at all increase our chances or are they given out throughout the day at random?

Random throughout the day, primarily between 9 AM and 5 PM. But the earlier you're at a park, the more opportunity you have to win a prize, or be the recipient of a Magical Moment.

This is true, but even the official rules say that FP's will be typically given out earlier in the day. I've never heard of anyone getting one after noon and only like 1 family getting them after 11 even.

We won Dream Fastpasses about 11am in the MK coming off of It's A Small World. I think they usually give them out in the morning so you have the day to use them.

We won ours getting off of Barnstormer around 10:30.

All last week when we were there at opening at each park, the dream squad seemed to be at the headliner rides between 9 and 9:30 giving the dream fastpasses out. Of course, they did not seem to think our family wanted them! Not!
It was kind of frustrating to see groups getting them that did not seem that excited, acting like it was no big deal. I think true WDW ride vets (like me) really see the advantage to getting them so early in the day in such a crowded time of year to visit, and would really be excited! Oh well.

Dream fastpasses, Dream Lanyards & Pins, and Dream Ears appear to be handed out for the most part between 9:30AM and Noon. After Noon you typically don't see these prizes get handed out.

I would also say that castle winners appear to win between 10:30 and Noon each day. Since the winners have to be in the 3:00PM parade there needs to be enough time for the winners to go back to the hotel, get an overnight bag together, make other arrangements if necessary, and return to the MK before the 3:00PM parade starts.

Other dreams..probably larger prizes.. can happen anytime during the day. I've never seen or heard of a large prize getting handed out after 5:00PM. Some people have reported winning an extra hour after close in a specific park after 4:00PM.

My Dad and I won our Dream Fastpass at MGM just before 10:30 AM, when we were boarding the car for the Backlout Tour.

We won twice in October..
at 10am on Tower of Terror and 10;30 on Buzz Lightyear.

we have actually won twice - one at like 9:05 coming off the HM and then once at like 3pm coming off BTM - so they do give them out throughout the day.

I have won 3 times, and they were all within an hour of opening. I won two dream fastpasses and one dream magic hour, so maybe that is why I won them so early. I guess that lanyards and dream ears may get handed out later in the day as well.

In June we won dream fast passes in the Mission Space exit area where you can do the command center computer game at about 9:20. We rode MS again and saw the dream team going back in around 10:15 to the same computer area.

Our friends that we travelled with this week won getting off Peter Pan at about 9:05 am (we were there early for EMH).

We won a pin laynard at 10:30am getting off the train at the Main St Station.

Friends of mine called me yesterday from Epcot and as her DH was running ahead to the TEST TRACK ride 2 guys tried talking to her and told her that they had been chosen as the Family Of The Day @ Epcot!
They got Fast Passes and a bunch of other goodies that she couldn't mention all of it and they also got VIP seating for the Illuminations light show.

We are going in just 12 more days... I am soooo excited!

It is sorta funny as on Weds I said, wouldn't it be just wonderful if you won one of the magical dreams... and then she called all excited sharing the good news!

I won dream fast pass at Innoventions around 10:40am, but I almost won dream fast pass at Everest at 9:17am and dream ears at Star Tours around 9:20am.

I think being there early will make a difference in your chances of winning.
