Has anyone stayed at the Contemperary on dvc points?
Am I crazy for considering it?

I haven't done it, but I wouldn't call you crazy because I will do the same thing one day. I have stayed at DL on points, but there aren't any other DVC options.

Great, thanks.
We are going to Star Wars Weekends next summer...planed on staying at the Boardwalk but I was thinking of changing it to Contemp. I know it will make it harder for us to get to MGM, but.....thought it might be a nice change.

If you're crazy, I'm crazier. :rotfl:
I'm taking my Mom to the GF on my points this fall.
Yes, the amount of points I'll be using makes me twitch. But the GF is her very favorite place to be on the entire planet, and I'll have plenty of time to conserve points when she can't come with me to WDW anymore.
Bottom line.....they're your points, and it's your definition of value. Is the pleasure of seeing my Mom so happy at the GF 'worth it'? You betcha. :)

We've done it before. We got five nights on points and added two days cash. It was our first stay at the CR and we loved it. We never knew it was such a great place. We stayed in the South Wing and would do it again in a minute.

You are a great person to do this for your mom! You guys will enjoy your trip and wont even think about the points when you get there. Thanks for the reply.

South Wing, does that have a veiw of the castle? That would be so great to see Wishes from the room. Hmmm.... you've got me thinking!

Add me to the list of nuts lol!! I want to do it staying on the concierge level 14th floor Atrium Club just once and really live it up. The fireworks must just be amazing to watch from up there on your own private balcony. I'm gonna try and hold off until hopefully the CRV tower is complete, and hope they have a concierge level there like they do at AKV. Hey to hell with it is my opinion, you can't take them with you to the next world.:cool1: I don't care about value I just want to be able to do what I want.

Me too!
Although... I just looked at the points in May/June for the Contemp vs DVC resports... wow! We would need to use two years worth of points to stay three nights. Is it worth it?
Maybe it would be better if we just purchased?

The South Wing looks out towards Bay Lake, the swimming pool and the canal that takes you over to WL. We had a view of the pool and lake and loved it. The best thing about it was we didn't have to use the elevators in the main tower unless we really wanted to. We could use the escalators and use the stairs in the South Wing.

I wonder what the points look like for that wing. MK view was way too many... would need to use two years worth just for three nights.
