I was originally planning on going to the Halloween party as a mummy or some other classic Halloween character.

But then I found this dress in my closet that my grandmother gave me and was like, "HEY! Maybe Elizabeth Swann!" So, I put on the dress, grabbed my Aztec coin necklace, and looked in the mirror.

I know the dress isn't identical to Elizabeth's (and I'm referring to her under-dress that she's wearing after she's been rescued by Jack at the beginning of Curse of the Black Pearl), but it's really only missing the sleeves and has a little decoration on the front. I wasn't planning on wearing a costume with sleeves to begin with (I sweat too much! haha), so this might be a good choice. Especially since I don't like any of the pre-made Elizabeth costumes that Disney sells.

What do you guys think? Should I get a wig? I would think it would be too hot. I would probably wear some type of flat shoes with this, but I would want them to be comfortable and practical, as well as go with the costume.

Is this MNSSHP worthy? I want to be wearing a good costume :)

Any opinions are appreciated!

The costume looks great. If you go with the picture you supplied, it looks like she has a bodice with it. But I've been to several places and have seen women wear that type of outfit without the bodice. Now you need Jack to go with you.

The Lollipop also helps with the outfit...

Yay! Thank you! I think my boyfriend is going to go as Ragetti (You know, the skinny one with a wooden eye). For the wooden eye part of his costume, he's going to carry it around on a fork (like in the first movie) and just wear an eyepatch (like in the third movie). I think it's the cutest idea in the world. I've never seen a Ragetti costume! I would want him to go as Jack, but I personally don't think many people can pull off Jack Sparrow, especially without spending hundreds on a custom-made costume. He's just one-of-a-kind, you know?

And as for the lollipop.. I didn't have anywhere to put it! :confused3 haha

v gan,

We're going to MNSSHP on 9/30 as well! Check out the thread on the DIS Meet Board regarding a bunch of folks getting together at the party to watch the fireworks together. I hope we see you there, I love the dress!

Love the costume! I am looking for an Elizabeth costume too. I love the black and gold asian inspired outfit from the last movie. I also like the white dress from disney. I am trying to talk my hubby into going on 9/30 too. Maybe I will see you there!

What about the ballet style crocs for your shoes? Crocs are super comfortable-especially for disney and they would not show much under the dress.

I love Elizabeth's Asian costumes! I wish pre-made costumes didn't look as cheap as they do. Disney should offer super-extra-deluxe costumes. Haha.

Ballet style crocs? I've heard amazing things about crocs for theme parks, but I've never heard of they ballet style! I was thinking about ballet style shoes anyway, so the more comfortable, the better! I'll have to look these up. Thanks!

Good luck to you whatever you decide to wear. I have also been thinking about buying a pair of the ballet crocs for our trip in October, they look super comfy!
