Yeah I just got off the phone with them and finalized my reservations too. Mine was 79 a night, and I had to jump through hoops to get it. I had to change my resrvation from the 26-29 to the 25-30 just to get the AP rate and I am gonna have to call back later to drop the 5th and 30th just to get my original dates that I wanted. If I had known it was gonna be the same rate, I would have just booked at the group rate!!

Yeah, and the CM I was oh so lucky to get was sooooo pleasant.
At first she wouldn't even check since I "already had a discount." (the group rate)
She finally checked and then kind of sarastically said that it was $79 a night, the same as I already had.
I didn't dare ask her to check the Disney Visa code.

POR is $139/night (incl. tax), SSR Studio is $218.25/night (incl. tax). No deluxe availability....I think they only had AKL on the AP rate and very few rooms available thanks to all the construction going on there.

I'll either be at SSR or at CBR with the group rate.

We are staying at the Swan for $169 per night. We wanted the Epcot area for the convience but bidn't want to spend $400+ for a deluxe Epcot Resort. We wanted to walk to and from the MGM for the race.

Remember if anyone is interested there will be a cooler of cold beer and Vodka coolers for a night cap before bed down by our pool.

Oh my rate so far for the Dolphin in January is $199 per night.

Thanks so much for the heads up, Dana!! I just called to check AP rates for Cornado Springs. The CM said that this was a target weekend and Disney was offering Dining GIFT CARDS. She said because we were at a moderate, we will receive a $50 Dining gift card!!! Anyone else hear of this?? She also said they were still downloading this new program and would CALL ME BACK!!! I told her we were coming for the Tower of Terror race. She said, "Oh, you are doing the marathon?" I explained that a marathon was 26 miles. This was ONLY 8. She said, "Well, everyone is calling it a marathon." You could just hear the shrug in her shoulders! Anne

Wait a minute!
How are you guys getting dining gift cards???

Should I change over to the AP rate (even though it's also $79) - is that how you are getting that?

See, Dana? I KNEW some people didn't know about the gift cards!! I'm pretty sure it's with the AP rate, Kristi. When I asked the CM to check the AP rate, she started on about the free dining card. I said, "Wait a minute..I was looking for AP room rates." Still haven't heard back about the AP room rates...Hey, if you call back, maybe you'll get a more helpful CM!! :goodvibes Anne

I think the dining card is 20 at a value, 50 at a moderate and 100 at a deluxe.

Hey, the CM I talked to this morning didn't say anything about a giftcard either, so I stuck with the $79 group rate!!!:confused3 Well gosh darn it!

Call and change it. It requires a minimum 2 night stay. Nothing available at Movies though (I checked for mine)

The card is $20 for values
$50 for moderate
$75 for deluxe
$100 for DVC

Got to love the ever-so-helpful CMs I always get!
(and I can say that since I was a CM at TDS for 11 years!)

I'll call back tomorrow....too much packing for camping to do.
AND, my SIL is in labor right now - have to go meet baby Luke this afternoon! :yay:

You know you want to come party with us at SSR! :cool1:

WWDave--now, if we join you guys for the "after party" party who is going to get me back to me room in one piece? ;) I guess I could have someone pour me into a cab in the wee hours of the morning!

The pics I've seen of SSR look really nice. The decision depends on my parents, but I figure with three of us going we'd be more comfortable in a studio since you get a bit of extra room. Plus it looks like you can get some nice runs in around the property!

Am I understanding this correctly? The dining cards are only available through the AP rate?

Yes, that's right Susie, you have to have an AP rate, and there is a certain window of dates when you are supposed to check in on.

10/21 - 11/3, 11/11 - 11/17, 12/9 - 12/15
$20 card for values
$50 for moderates
$75 for deluxes
$100 for DVC (the passholder website explicitly states SSR)

Yes the Dining Card is only available to those who booked with an AP rate, but....... Disney just released some package discounts to the general public. For less than $40 more per person (total, not each night) I just booked our vacation and got dining!! I had to change resorts, yet again, but got ASSports for 3 nights with dining for 732.56. We did have to pay for the one day base ticket, but we need to renew our Season Passes while we are down there anyway and will just apply the one day tickets to what we are gonna have to pay for our passes.

I was finally able to get through after numerous tries or being told the computer is done. Changed my AAA rate from POFQ to the AP rate for CSR (only moderate left) and that includes the $50 dining card. I really didn't save anything with the room rate as I had to get a waterview , but getting the dining card was worth it. What is with the computers being down so frequently when new rates come out. :confused3 I actually had a nice CM who understood what I wanted.

Bummer post....The CM never called me back..no surprise there. When I tried to call, I couldn't get through that night or the next day. Called yesterday and was told the system wouldn't be up until today. Called today and was told I DO NOT have the dining gift card. No AP or FL resident rates apply either. :sad1:

I was waiting for the AP codes, too, disappointed they were the same $79 rate. :sad1:

But are you all aware of the Dining Gift Card that is associated with these AP rates? It is supposedly a code built into the AP code. If they did not tell you about it, call back and make sure you are coded to receive this dining card. It is only $20 for value resorts (one card per reservation), but every bit helps. It goes up to $50 or $75 for moderate and I think $100 for deluxe resorts.

So, while we "only" got the $79 rate, it is effectively $75 with the addition of the $20 gift card. Like I said, every little bit helps!! I figure if I can use the $20 to buy a re-fillable mug (again, I'm not sure what purchases are eligible), I'll be way ahead!!!
