After much trial and tribulation, I finallly got my son's passport. I have a regular photocopy of the order stating I have custody. I also have the long form b.c. My worry now is that my order is just a regular copy, it doesn't even showthe court seal on it, should I go to the courthouse and get a certified copy or notarized copy????

I know I am a worrywart but don't want to be given a hard time at the border. BTW, on the certified b.c. it says for father information "information not provided" lol So do you think I need a notarized or certified Custody Order or just the photocopy????:confused3

We leave for the WORLD in 3 days  :dance3: :hourglass

I had trouble getting my daughter a passport last year for our Disney trip too. I had to get the long version of her birth certificate and it also says father's info not available. I have crossed the border 3 times since then and no one has ever asked about her father. They just look at the passport and no problem. We even went to England and no one questioned a thing. I don't know how old your son is but my daughter is old enough for them to question. She knows just to say, I don't live with my dad, just my mom.
I'm like you, a worrywart but the only place I had trouble was the passport office.
Good luck and relax, it will work out!

Do you take a copy of the custody order with you, and is it certified?? I just have a plain photocopy i got from the lawyer, it doesn't even have the court seal on it. I am wondering if that will be good enough.

Thanks
