Anyone have a good experience with a nice hotel taking their pets?

Looking at the Residence Inn LBV--Sheraton Safari--Regal Palms--Radisson Worldgate--but trying to stay as close to WDW as possible--hopefully with interior corridors.
I was hoping maybe someone else stayed close by with a pet and it worked well!???

We stayed at Celebration Resort (timeshare) just outside the 192 entrance to Disney with our two pups over Christmas. All of us had a great time. We did find that it was tough to entertain the dogs all day everyday and, fortunately, found out we had FREE (!) boarding for them at Universal with our annual passes. The dogs loved it and we got a break for a few hours. Disney also has a kennel but the fees are rather stiff.

Thank you, I really appreciate the info! I have heard good things about Celebration Resort. Were the staff pretty good about you having your pups there?
How long did it take to get to Disney?
Thanks again!:goodvibes

The resort and staff at Celebration were VERY pet friendly. They have rooms with all tile floors and minimal loose items on tables, etc so the dogs won't be tempted. There is a nice walk area surrounding a pond complete with "pick up" bag stations for natures call. You do have to let them know you will have your pet as not all units are set up for animal guests.
The resort is on the same road as Westgate Villas, Magic Tree and Mystic Dunes so it is about as close as you can be to the Disney entrance without being on site. No more than 10 minutes from the parking unless traffic is really heavy.

hey Celebration is one my favorites.
depends upon the way you go - if you do
http://images.floridakiss.com/maps/kiss_accomm_map.pdf
on the above map is in the area of C-2 off of 545 (Old Lake Wilson RD)
so at end of 545 you can turn right - then in a couple of miles turn onto World drive.
or you can turn left at WestGate Blvd - then turn right at the stop sign. go straight through the traffic light - now you are on Sherberth road - at the next traffic light turn ride - now you are on Osecola Parkway on WDW property. the signs for the parks entrance are along this road. - AK is the first left turn.
forgot this is called Celebration World resort in kissimmee, fl- not the celebration hotel at celebration, fl. that place does not accept pets.
also if you can afford it - the loews hotels at US are pretty wonderful for pets!!!
Spicey was happy at both places. but at the Us hotels they made him feel like a him - for those prices they should.
you can find cwr often on skyauction.

THANK YOU BOTH!!! That helps so much!!! I didn't realize just how close it was.
How long does it take from the Universal hotels to Disney?

they are several miles away from disney.
here is an attraction map
http://images.floridakiss.com/maps/kiss_attract_map.pdf
I would say 20 minutes - have done it less - but 20 minutes.
here is website for the US hotels
http://www.universalorlando.com/ht_index.html
we stayed in Royal Pacific - he was treated like a star. the best experience ever at any pet friendly places.
of course it also helped that a bunch of cat lovers were staying here. He got more than his share of attention. He loved attention.
that say CWR especially through skyauction - well you can stay a week at CWR for the same price (mostly) as one night at a US hotels.

That's something to think about--I would like to be closer though--I think?!!
One reason I was looking at the Radisson Worldgate was because of Sherberth Rd, similar to the directions you gave above. Ever stayed there?
Their website makes it look so nice, but people's reviews are pretty much horrible.
So hard to choose!
I really appreciate the thoughts and ideas!
Thank you!!! :flower3:

We've brought our yorkie to the Universal hotels which were fabulous! Also the Sheraton Safari. The Sheraton Safari is very close to Disney. When we went to Disney and were at the Universal hotels (we did both Universal and Disney) we didn't want to leave her long so we boarded her for a few hours at the parks, it worked out really really well. We heard also very good things about Celebration and will try that one also in the future. I know you can get good deals there.

Thank you--that helps too, I'm thrilled to hear more! When you were at the Sheraton, did you leave her in the room while at Disney?
How were the staff about you having a small dog there? Did you have a reg. room or a suite?
At Disneyland, we stay at the Sheraton Anaheim and they loved our little dog, there was no problem at all. She loves to travel and sleeps if we are out, she is not a barker. We were only at the parks a few hrs at a time.
I was looking into the suites at the Safari for more room.
Thanks again!

CWR is a timeshare - but you don't need to hear the pitch. Especially if you go through skyauction.
they are only 1, 2 or 3 bedrooms.
www.celebrationworldresort.com
just don't rent from them - go to skyauction first.
Universal has suites - but I would hate to see the prices.
here is sheraton safari
www.sheratonsafari.com
it about 1 and 1/2 from DowntownDisney.
It might be a little closer to MK than CWR.
Spicey was left alone at CWR and when we ate at RP.

The Residence Inn is a marriott - so it should be pretty nice.
the Orlando Sun Resort - it was the old Hyatt (been closed for years) - is pet friendly and only $49 per night
here is the link

Thank you Spiceycat, I sure appreciate all the links and the help! The Orlando Sun is the one that is just reopening right! I'll look at that one too.
Thanks again!
