Early Check-In

I know at the other resorts if you check in early in the morning and they have a room ready for you, they will assign it to you. Does it work the same way at the Fort? I'm really hoping that they will have a site they can assign to me so I can get myself set up early and head out to the parks as I only have limited time this trip. What are your experiences?

Yes, if you arrive early and your site is ready, they will let you have it. As with other resorts, there are no guarantees, and we have had it go both ways for us. Generally, we don't arrive very early anyway, but this past MLK weekend in 2007, I was not able to get away on Friday, so we left at zero dark thirty on Saturday morning, and pulled into the Fort at about 7 am. We had to go in to the main building to check in, as the drive through lanes were not open that early, but they assigned us our site, and I was able to drop the trailer off there, and book it over to Animal Kingdom to make the EMH opening! (Which we were eligible for as resort guests).

We too, have had it both ways. If your assigned site is ready when you arrive, they will let you go & set up. If it isn't ready, you can still check in early - they just won't give you a site number until the 1pm check-in time. There's an outer parking lot you can park your TT, MH, 5er or car in & you can use Disney's transportation all day & come back later on & get set up.

The CM's at the front desk are always friendly & will try and accomodate you as best they can. :thumbsup2 In all the years we've been going to FW, we only had one time when a CM was a little tense-and by that I mean not as friendly as usual, but certainly not rude. We found out later that she had a very serious situation going on in her life. I'd probably been a blithering idiot in the same situation. FW has the absolute BEST CM's! That's part of the fun!
