DH has survived the downsizing (GM for him), including what they called "black monday" -very scary seeing people right and left be escorted out-simply because he's so underpaid that it doesn't make sense to get rid of him:scared1:
AT least that's our theory;) So we live on the salary, play on the OT

Bobbiwoz--my dad's plant turned Delphi, and then they "convinced" him to retire about 5 years ago. My stepmom just took a buyout last year. They're thrilled to be away from the drama finally.

Best wishes to you and your DH!!! Our hardest years were the ones when the Trenton NJ plant was due to close. The rumors and fears lasted for years, and finally, we bailed out of NJ :sad1: and came to Ohio, to be "Safe." Well, there's no safety now, but we are close to retirment time. DH likes his job, for as long as it will last, and I very much enjoy teaching p/t, so we're really fine.:goodvibes

Definitely unemployed, not by my choice. My job was outsourced to India along with many others in my company. Waiting for unemployment to kick in. Too young to be retired, lol. Thanks for asking!
