Hello,

We are flying out on 5th September from Manchester with Virgin but we booked our holiday through Thomas Cook Signature.

I was wondering if we could upgrade when we check in?

At the moment it is £250.00 each to upgrade to PE one way which is too much for us this time so we were hoping of possibly trying to grab a cheeky cheap upgrade when we check in.

Is this possible?

Hi
If you have your holiday ref number then give virgin a ring, as they have an offer on at the moment for upgrades, £87 each for PE inbound

Initially we had booked a holiday with VH and the flights PE were £2800 I then had to change our plans as I am pregnant we could not go on the cruise so when VH re costed everything the flights were only £1700. Thats for 3 of us PE return! I only changed this a few weeks ago.

Give Virgin a call, i hope you get a bargin!:thumbsup2

you will prop find that your flights are not upgradable, I used to work for virgin atlantic and only certain fares are allowed to be upgraded. As its througha travel agent its prob a nett fare which are normally less flexible than published fares which is what you get if you buy direct from virgin atlantic

Hi,

I called mt Travel agent this morning and asked about possibly upgrading to PE.

She is going to look into it but didn't sound to helpful/hopeful.

I will let you know how I get on.

I don't expect upgrading to PE as I suspect it will be £250.00 each one way and as we have to pay for our new front door which is being fitted in 1 week I guess we can't afford it this time! (do we really need a new front door?, whats wrong with the one we have...yes it doesn't shut and it leaks water when it rains...but really do we? :lmao: )

Hi

We had booked from the Virgin Holidays brochure but through our local Thomas Cook branch rather than direct. When we phoned the agent about a month ago to ask about the discounted upgrades they checked with VA but could not find out anything. I called VA directly and was able to confirm availability and get a quote. Since the flight had been booked through a travel agent they could not make the change there and then but they were able to add the details of the quote to our booking. Our travel agent was then able to ring up and get the booking amended. So we got there in the end.

Cheers

Can I ask how much you were quoted for the upgrade?

Can I ask how much you were quoted for the upgrade?

They were offering a £170 discount per person each way but there was additional APD to pay and an extra £6 fuel surcharge.

Cheers

Hello,

My travel agent has just got back to me and my tickets were issued on the 10th August and I should be able to collect them on Saturday.

Thus I can't upgrade on it!

Oh well it wasn't meant to be!

I'm just so excited though that I will be getting my tickets in a few days!

It always makes it feel more real!
