Thursday, April 5th, another beautiful day. We got up, showered and dressed. Then we caught the bus to the Marina area where we proceeded to have breakfast at Trail's End. We had a very nice breakfast although I thought it was a little pricy, considering what little DS eats. The total for the 2 of us after tip was around $22.00.
After breakfast we went to the pier and rode the boat to MK where we proceeded to catch the monorail to Epcot. We arrived at Epcot around 11:00. The first thing we did was head for Test Track for Fast Passes. Both DSs and I had been to WDW in June and tried twice to ride Test Track. Each time we got in line the rains came and the ride was shut down. Today was looking good. We finally got on and we got the picture of us on it.
DS loves the video games in the Roads to Tomorrow (West) building. I was a good sport and let him have a good hour in there.
After that we decided to go to the World Showcase. We purchased the passport kit in one of the souvenir stores and we had a lot of fun going to different countries and getting it stamped and getting the messages written in it.
While we were in World Showcase the sky turned very dark and we experienced a downpour!. Wouldn't you know it...This was the first day I decided to leave the tent open so we could have fresh air when we came back! All I could think about was our poor tent and how DS would probably have to sleep in the back of the car while I dried the tent out! Oh, well, the damage was al ready done. I wasn't going to let it rain on my Tapestry of Nations Parade! :D We stayed on! While it rained, we found shelter in one of the covered stadiums and listened to a musical group called "Barrage". I would describe them as being a rock, fiddle band. They were sensational! I understand they have a web site. So when I got home I logged on. If you want to sample a little of their music go to www.barrage.org. (http://www.barrage.org.) I would have loved to have listened to Off Kilter again but because of the rain they were not playing.
I had bought rain ponchos for our trip but I had left them in the car trunk. Therefore I ended up purchasing 2 Disney rain ponchos! Luckily the rain stopped after about 2 hours.
We ate in China because DS wanted to eat with chopsticks! We shared a sweet and sour chicken dinner at the Lotus Blossom Cafe. It was delicious! After that we found a place to view the Tapestry of Nations. I video taped this parade and I just love watching it now that we're home. We would have stayed for Illuminations but I was starting to get worried about the mess with the tent thatI was afraid was waiting for us and catching the last boat from MK to FW.
When we arrived back at our tent I was amazed. The tent was completely closed up and was as dry as could be. Later I learned that Lisa and Steve, our dear neighbors from Louisiana, had closed the tent up for us! I was so grateful!!!
I discovered that I enjoyed Epcot more the 2nd time around than I did in June. We will definately be going back to this park next time we're there! Sweet & Dry dreams, TC :)

Love the reports! We will be camping at FW in August and they are provoding lots of great info. How long did it take to ride the boat to MK and then the monorail to Epcot? Was this easier than taking the bus straight to Epcot?

bobcat, It is about a 10 minute ride, by boat, to MK. From MK to Epcot by monorail, I'd say about 5 minutes. This is a very enjoyable way to get to Epcot! You are going to have a great time! TC

How was tent camping at WDW?.. I love camping (even though I don't sleep as well) but don't know if I could do it a whole week.

Jennymouse, We had a queen sized air mattress and battery powered pump. Plus we were so very busy from the time we got up until our heads hit the pillow we had no trouble sleeping! It was so nice to wake to the chirping of the birds. I was wondering how I would feel after a week in a tent, especially at my age (47) but I survived quite nicely! I highly recommmend FW!! TC

Boy you lucked out having such nice neighbors to close up your tent so that you would have a dry place to sleep.

Thanks for taking the time to post this, it was fun to read.
