View Full Version : Hand luggage - how strict are they?

I know that any liquids etc carried in hand luggage can only be 100ml, and that they have to be in a resealable bag no larger than 20cm x 20cm - but are they really that strict on the size of the bag? There seems to be a definite lack of resealable bags around at the moment. In the last couple of days I've been to Tesco, Sainsburys and Costco and the shelves are bare. I managed to get some at a local shop but they are 20cm x 25cm. Will this be acceptable?

Thanks

When we went last year there was a tub full of plastic resealable bags at the airport that you just helped yourself to. I remember the bags were quite big. i hadnt taken much just put a very small handcream and my mascara in. I think as long as you dont put much in you will be fine but hopefully someone will have gone more recently.

They were handing the plastic resealable bags out in Gatwick a few weeks ago so I wouldn't worry too much... :)
