Now that I have got my date confirmed I thought I would start a planning journal to keep you all updated.

About Us
We met on an internet dating site Christmas Eve 2005 and had set our British wedding date on the 1st March 2006. To say our relationship moved quickly was an understatement. And if any of my friends had done the same thing I would have tried to put them off and told them they were mad. Lets just say I never believed the saying that when you found mister right you will know, well I do now!

http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/6204/dscn1046ks2.jpg

Why Disney
I have always wanted a Disney wedding since I first visited WDW in 1996 but I had a problem my mum and step dad said they would never fly that far and as I am very close to my mum a wedding day without her was unthinkable. So knowing this when we discussed getting married I know that I would have to marry in England. So we booked a gulf club and set a date of the 25th April 2008. Whilst planning this wedding day I never felt the day was ours it was about our parents and we just wanted to get it over and done with.

Now I'm a strongly believe that everything happens for a reason. At the beginning of this year I started to get ill, nothing major but I had off days, and we put it down to money worries as our British wedding was getting more and more expensive. It was looking like it was going to hit over £25000 for one day. Our families were making lots of demands on us, both of our partners are separated and have new partners. It even got to the point that we had a huge fight with Darren's dad about him not wanting to be involved in the day at all because he didn't want to sit on the top table (We still aren't talking). To say we wasn't enjoying the whole experience was an understatement.

The straw that broke the camels back was the fact that my step dad lost his job and was finding it hard to get another one. So he decided to retire but to do this they had to sell their home and downsize. My mum and step dad were putting a lot of money towards the british wedding and I didn't think it was fair to put that pressure on them for a day we wasn't happy with.

So we decided that we would go to florida alone and have the wedding of my dreams. This was the hardest decision I ever had to make, my mum and step dad not being there, and spent most of the day in tears. The next day I phoned them to tell them we were putting a stop to the wedding. When I called my mum she wouldn't talk to me and passed the phone to my step dad. He said the following magical words to me

We will go to Florida:rotfl:

well they were the best words in the world. They knew how upset everything was making us and they knew what we were going to do so they are facing their fears and going on the nine hour flight just for us.

You have a wonderful step dad.

Thank you he is a great guy, one in a million.

Our Wedding Plans So Far

So far I have been in contact with our disney wedding consultant for about three months now. We have so far had our dates and locations held in the diary, we won't contract until November.

Our Wedding Ceremony is scheduled for Wednesday the 30th of July at 2.30pm at Disney's Wedding Pavilion.

We are having our reception in the White Hall room in the Grand Floridian Hotel.

And our Dessert Party will be held in Morocco. We originally wanted to book the lower UK but a convention is being held there on our wedding day. They did suggest UK upper but we didn't really want to share our wedding day with a convention.

We originally wanted to book an Escape wedding but whist looking into it and talking about all the options we wanted it was starting to get costly. So we booked a custom so that we could play with all the options, make the day personal to us and hopefully stick to the minimum spends.

At the moment we only have eight confirmed people making the trip over to Florida with us. But I have sent some information out over the past week to close family and friends letting them know our plans and that they are welcome to join us. We are quite happy with just the eight guests we have at the moment and if anyone else does join us it will be a bonus.

Things We Have Booked So Far
We have penciled in our Magic Kingdom photo shoot for the Friday after our wedding.
We have booked our photographer Misty Miotto.
I thought we had chosen our officiant but as my other posts state I am now thinking about booking someone else.
And today I ordered my dress.

My Dress
I have had my heart set on this dress since April 06 but it was very expensive and so I tried to find something similar and cheaper. This task I found impossible. I then went to a wedding fair last September and was able to order this dress with 15% off and free fittings and alterations. Today I went to get measured and place the order for them to make the dress. The dress I originally tried on was pink and I did find it in another shop in white. So today I was going to order it in white.

When I got to the shop they had just received an ivory sample. So I tired it on. So today it is all change I have ordered it in ivory and am having a lace up back instead of buttons so that if my weight goes up in the Florida heat I will still fit into my dress.

Here are some photos let me know what you think. The dress didn't fit correctly at the top.

Thank you.

I did have a bit of a panic yesterday about the colour. I ordered the colour that I tried on but then I thought should I have gone for the white. Mum told me to stop worrying! I know I have ordered the right colour for me and it is just me being silly.

Hi Girls,

I haven't been on this site much recently as I have reached my peak time at work so we are working roughly 13 hour days and most weekends. I'm very tired at the moment but the overtime is coming in handy for the wedding.

As you can imagine the wedding has been on the back burner for a bit.

I have set out our save the dates for our guests but we haven't had much of a response. We only have eight booked guests to go over to Orlando and we are happy with that but I thought Darren's friends might reply or even make us aware in some way that they received the wedding information. It makes me sad that we are having to tell my family that it is a small wedding with limited numbers as so many are interested in going and the people that Darren wants there aren't even bothered. The problem is that you mention Disney wedding and people think its not real and just a joke wedding.

http://img58.imageshack.us/img58/7529/savethedatefa5.jpg

We have booked our Grand Floridan rooms for the night before our wedding and two nights after so we get some time on our own. We have booked a lodge tower room, I'm so excited.

We have also now booked Kevin Knox to conduct our ceremony and when work calms down we are going to go through the information he sent us and talk about the options for our service.

I thought I found the perfect bridesmaid dresses for the girls in Monsoon and it was meant to be new in stock but now I can't find it in the shops and it has been taken off the website. So I will have to put my thinking cap on again.

The next thing on our list is to get our wedding rings made. We have a week off in october and we are going to visit the man who made my engagement ring. I will let you all know how we get on.

Hi Girls,

Not much has happened wedding wise at the moment. I have contacted Disney as we should be contracting in soon to find out what information, if any, they will need from us at this time. I also told them that we won't be able to make it on site for a planning session as we just can't afford it.

I sent out newsletters to everyone that is going to tell them about what we are planning to do on our holiday and if they would like to join us. I have got to ring my brother today and see if he wants to book discovery cove as I really want to book it this weekend.

We went window shopping last weekend looking out for suits, bridesmaid dresses, and a camera as we don't have one at the moment. I'm thinking of buying one in the January sales to hopefully get a good deal. We are thinking of buying Darren a suit and taking it with us so it is one less thing to worry about.

We visited the Swarovski shop and they have a new Tinker Bell line. I thought I could get my nieces the necklaces to wear on our wedding day and they could double up as their thank you presents. I don't know if they sell this items in Florida if any one knows please let me know which shop.

Thank you. I really want to get them for the girls and I keep going to look at them in the shop. They look better every-time I see them. They said they will be in the shop until Christmas and they will only continue to see them if they are popular. I'm aiming to have got them by then but it all depends on how much our wedding bands cost. We are going to visit the ring man next week :cool1:

Rings - how exciting! Have you any ideas what style you're after? I do but DF has no idea yet, he's so laid back! We're getting married on August 5th so we have a little more time than you to go yet :)

Do you know how much the tinkerbell necklaces are? I don't want to shock DF when we arrive at the store, ha ha....!

Raspberry Bubbles - I wouldn't start panicking about your rings yet as we don't get much holiday time off together and we have to fit our planning round the days that we have booked off.

I want my ring to match the engagement ring that he made me but it all depends on how much it will cost. I will post a pic of my engagement ring next week when I have my mums camera. Darren doesn't really like the idea of a ring so I doubt has put that much thought into it but he wants one with a matt finish at the moment.

We are still in Disney on your wedding day :cheer2:

caryndisneydiva - I know I still can't believe my Step dad said yes. He has even started to get excited. I just hope he will enjoy Disney as much as I do.

Thanks for all your compliments about my dress and tiara, I'm glad you all like them I can't wait until the wedding day so that Darren can see it all.

We are on holiday at the moment and have been looking for bridesmaids dresses. I was going to buy the girls dresses from a normal shop but decided against it as my nieces are now living in Epsom, Surrey which is about an hour drive away from us and my oldest, Talisa, now works so I thought it would be better to pick the dresses from a bridal shop so that we can work round them and know that the style won't sell out.

After looking around many shops I have finally found the one

http://img87.imageshack.us/img87/7932/bridesmaidsbm71la8.jpg

We are going to get them in GRAPE which is a deep purple. I did want blue but the blue isn't that strong in this style and I wanted the dresses to be quite striking. They have to be ordered by January so we have a bit of time to get the girls to the shop.

We have also had some good news our friends Suzie and Simon may be able to join us in Florida. If they do Suzie is going to be my Maid of Honor. Hopefully she will be able to confirm before January so we can order her the dress.

We have also ordered our wedding rings this week. I am going to take a picture of my engagement ring over the weekend so that I can explain our styles to you all.

Wedding rings ordered. :cool1:

We visited the man who made my engagement ring last week to discuss and order our wedding rings.

I am having a wedding ring made that will match my engagement ring, he is going to set seven diamonds in it and also shape it to sit nicely around my engagement ring.

http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/7527/dscn1273as7.jpg

I was going to order just a plain band but my mum talked me into adding the diamonds to match as she said its always nice to have a sparkle. It didn't cost that much more to add them so I went ahead with the design.

Darren has ordered a 6.5mm white gold band. The middle of the band is going to be made to look matt and the outside edges will be shinny.

We have to go for a fitting in February, when we collect them I will post photos for you all.

After many debates about if we should have our wedding ceremony filmed and if we can afford it or not we have finally booked STVS Wedding Videos. We still don't know what package we can afford with him but he said we can confirm that nearer the date. After seeing Summers TR I knew he is who I wanted to work with us. It is they style I have looked for without to much expense.

I originally was going to have the wedding filmed and edit the footage myself but being in England the cost to make it compatible didn't save us any money.

I'm really happy with our choice we just have to get more cash together now :confused3

Hi Girls,

I can't believe we have exactly eight months until our wedding day, I'm sure after Christmas the time will fly by.

We finally signed our contract this week and worked out how to send off our deposit. This took three trips to the bank.

We have to order the bridesmaids dresses in January but my friend Suzie has just been told she is being made redundant in January and they don't want to book their trip to Orlando until she has found work. I agree with this totally. The problem we face is that she really wants to be maid of honor but she doesn't want me to order her dress until she knows she is booked to come. The problem I have is that I have been told that January is the latest time I can leave it to order them. I really want her to be in my bridal party but I also really wanted the girls to be in the same dresses. I really don't know what to do. Darren thinks I should ask her to step down from the role and just be a guest if she can make it to Florida. I'm really stuck with this one, any suggestions?!

I was having the same problem!! my maid of honor has done nothing for the wedidng and has never asked about it and they havent booked thier holidays, also the best men as well (they were all ging to get a villa) So i was holding off ordering the dresses and still am really.

They have just booked the villa after hassle from DF *** of other issues we were having with the suits.

I sometimes think that I rushed into the dicisions of my bridal party and wished I had waited.

why don't you try to find the dress somewhere else? or get a seamstress to make it for you once you have your other girls dresses?

Bridesmaid Update

My MOH has had some good news as she has found a new job. This means that they are going to book their trip to orlando in January so if all goes to plan we will be able to order her bridesmaid dress in time. I'm so happy about this as I really wanted them to wear the same dresses.

Lost Contract

We have had some problems with getting our contract to Florida. The tracker said that the recipent wasn't in. But Royal Mail said that the address wasn't found and the package was also damaged so it is now making its way back to England. How could they not find Walt Disney World!

This meant that our contract didn't make it there in time. Thankfully my deposit did so our wedding date was OK. We just now have to wait for the contract to get there before we can start moving forward with the planning. Hopefully in the new year we will have a planner assigned. :cool1:

Yesterday was our day for getting my two nieces measured for their bridesmaid dresses. I had already decided on the style but wasn't 100% on the colour I was going to order. I have no theme yet so the chosen colour is going to determine the rest of the choices that have to be made for the wedding.

I started by getting my nieces to try on the different colours they had in the shop

My older niece looked stunning in the black and I would love to have black bridesmaid dresses but because there are only going to be a few of us and my DF wants to wear a black suit I thought it would be to much black. And also being that we are going to be in the hot Florida sun I didn't want the girls to get to hot by wearing black.

I also liked the red but it didn't look that nice on my younger niece.

So I have decided the order the purple (grape). I didn't know what colour I wanted but I know I wanted it to be a striking colour and I think this colour does the job.

Tiara's

I was really stuck as to what to put in the girls hair as I wanted them to have something that sparkles but something that was a bit more subtle than my tiara. Also everything that I did like was coming out quite expensive and as I have three girls I have to be careful with the costs. The lady in the shop suggested the following

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/170/lm134lkh8.gif

http://img69.imageshack.us/img69/5292/lm134dr0.gif

and they only cost £16. I'm going to go with the ivory and silver version so that they will match my dress and then I think I can get them all ivory shoes from a normal shop. There are also flowers in the tiara and mine has flowers on it so I think it is a perfect match.

Flowers

I have been worrying about flowers for a long time as I'm not very good when it comes to flowers but during the Christmas holidays I looked at quite a few TR and PJ and have stolen a few ideas.

If I can have flowers that are like these

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/366/47b7d826b3127cce84b354cqu1.jpg

I think it would pick up the colour of the bridesmaid dresses.

And for the girls I could get something like these

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4224/bmflowersoa9.jpg

and that would pick up the colour of my dress.

My DF could have the same colour flower as me on his jacket and my Dad could have the same colour as the girls.

Do you think this would work?

B2B-2008
01-05-2008, 12:17 PM
So all in all we had quite a productive day yesterday. All I need to do now is take my MOH to be measured and then the orders can be sent off.

I'm still waiting to be assigned my wedding planner. If I don't get a call by next week I think I will email my wedding consultant incase I have got lost in the system over the Christmas and New Year holidays.

That's a good idea, I hadn't even though about waistcoats.
If I'm wearing white then a white waistcoat might be too much whiteness.
I suppose the cravats or ties could be colou co-ordinated too.

Come on - help me out, what colour waistcoats and cravats/ties for the groom and what for the other men to go with my buttonhole idea? :rotfl:

The groom could have a silver colour cravat if you have that colour in accessories. And maybe you can find a waistcoat that would match. The other men could have red cravats to match the bridesmaids.

This could work as my necklace and earrings are silver with white flowers.

I've just thought, that doesn't match with the gold rings does it? - oh dear!

My engagement ring band is gold already though.

Unfortunately we can't get over to Florida before our wedding as our work holidays and money just doesn't allow it. So our wedding trip will be my DF's first time at Disney.

You must tell me all about your planning session and post lots of pictures. I make even take your advise on the menus you try

I finally got all the planning information from my planner and started to fill in our questionnaire this is where we got stuck. We want to have a back to front reception, we want to have a cake cutting ceremony and Mickey to visit us during our pre-reception and the our dinner to lead naturally to our dessert party. So I sent my planner a huge email that stated how we wanted our day to pan out. She e-mailed me back saying that she wanted to talk to me!

Now I was slightly worried as I have heard that some planners don't like to bend the rules but our planner is quite happy to work with us in achieving what we want. She is suggesting that we have our pre-reception for an hour and a half, then dinner from 5 to 7.30 moving on to our dessert party at 8 and leaving at 9.30. I don't know how much this will all cost but I sure we will find that when we do our official phone planning session. This will be arranged when we get our filled in questionnaire back to her.

I also had some very big cake worries. We are having a wishes wedding but only have 12 confirmed guests. The minimum cake size that was on the list is for 50 people. This really worried me as that is a lot of cake to throw away. So I asked if we can have a two tier cake as we have such a small number of people. She is also happy to work with us on this and they will let us have a two tier, again no idea of cost yet.

All I have to do is complete the questionnaire this weekend and hopefully we can plan in a bit more detail.

we were told that we could have a 2 tier mad hatter but i dont know how many that feeds

B2B-2008
02-09-2008, 01:53 PM
I think she said a two tier would feed 30 people. Still quite a bit extra for my 12 guests but not as much as 50 would be.

jane, i bet you'd be able to save the top layer from the 2 tier for your anniversary and the guests would be able to eat the bottom layer, and barely any would go to waste!

I thought I would post some pictures of my accessories that I have so far as I finally brought myself some shoes.

Here are my shoes, I got the from BHS wedding collection and they only cost £30,

I think the detail on the toe will match the beading on my dress.

I treated myself to some items in the Swarovski shop as I would like to pass these items down to my own daughter, if I ever have one, or my nieces.

love the necklace and tiara.

we want an upside down reception as well. I havent talked to my planner about it yet! as we only have the vidoegrapher for a short while i want the first dance and cake cutting to be done before they leave and i dont really want the video of us eating dinner!

I was really worried that our planner wouldn't want to work with us but she seams to be very helpful so far. We have our phone planning session on Tuesday so I suppose we will know more then.

We have Stan booked for four hours to film the day. Our ceremony is at 2.30 pm and we will be sitting down to eat at 5.00 pm. Giving us and hour and a half pre-reception time to do the cake cutting, possible mickey mouse visit and group photos during this time on the patio. So if Stan turns up at 1 pm he should get everything that we want filmed.

Now I just have to make up my mind what to do about the photographer for our dessert party.

I would love to have Misty to stay on but what with her costs going up and wanting us to jump up two packages so she will stay for the DP the costs are just to much at the moment. We are running out of time savings wise :)

I'm going to talk to the planner about using Disney for the DP but I would like the photos to be supplied on a disc if possible. I know is $750 for the Magic Kingdom photos on a disc I'm hoping that it won't be that much more to add DP ones to it.

What package did you go with with stan??

We have gone with the stylized package based on Summer's video as it is what I had been looking for. I wanted to edit my own video but I didn't trust any of my family filming the day and as we are only a small group I want them all to be able to relax.

I have also asked for him to come back to our DP. I know it is really expensive but I really like him and it has really become important for us to have our day filmed and this is something I never thought I would want.

Let me know if you find out about the images on a CD as your planner may get back to you before we talk to ours.

orangetiggs
02-22-2008, 07:41 AM
yes i found him to be a bit unhelpful when we asked about the prices and maybe adjusting them.

I have had a quote for 4 hours and editing and 3 dvds for $760.5 thats with a 10% discount for a weekday wedding and if I paid in full i would get another 5%

When i spoke to stan the only package he would do for me was the stylised intimate one which was 4 hours for $1675 so thats double

B2B-2008
02-22-2008, 07:48 AM
How strange I found him really helpful. That is the price we are paying with a bit extra for him coming to the DP. I know how picky I am when it comes to filming so I'm happy with the price and I have warned him I will be a nightmare when it comes to the proofing stages. I'm just having to make Darren work more overtime :)

Your other quote is great as long as you are happy with their work I would say book them.

We are in the same boat as you when it comes to savings. Every month something has cropped up costing more money. Thats why I can't upgrade our photographer package. I have promised Darren the extras that we do have will cost as little as possible.

I'm quite worried about it all and I really need to stick to the $10,000 minimum as much as I can. The deposit being a holding deposit really hasn't helped. I'm praying that they will let that cost come off of the total because if they send us back the $1500 as a cheque we can't pay it in anywhere.

As much as I don't want to we may have to get a 0% purchases credit card for a few bits and pay it off when we come home.

I know what you mean! we havent got our BEO yet and i'm dreading it! I'm going to stick to the min if it kills me! I know my bank charges me to cash a us dollar cheque! I'm hoping to try and get my planner to agree to have the 1500 towards the payment and not have it back, that would help so much.

02-22-2008, 09:15 AM
Darren has just told me to tell the planner everything I would like and then he will have the fun cutting the costs when we get our BEO. Not that I want anything major but I would like chair covers to personalize the room a bit but I know they will be one of the first things to go.

orangetiggs
02-22-2008, 09:19 AM
thats what we did the other week when we went down, Rob said put everything on there and thats worse case. The we know we can cut it. If you go in and dont put anything on then its a massive budget your stuck

I'm cutting around 5000 already as I saw the carriage and was a little disappointed by it really, it looks so tired and old i thought and Rob was not impressed either. I also added the canopy of tulle for the ceiling, thats like 2500 so thats going straight away.

We also have a slipper dessert and light slipper sorbet and a dessert party so i think the slipper dessert will go and then i think we may just had bride and groom strawberries at the party as i want the cake to be eaten and not wasted but we shall see

B2B-2008
02-22-2008, 10:00 AM
Darren has already said no to the carriage he wants to go with one of the cars. I also wanted the slipper dessert but that is out as I also want the cake eaten as dessert.

The one thing that Darren wants and I have to keep in is the Major Domo as he isn't having any groomsmen/best man he wants him to bring in our wedding rings.

I'm also going to order Darren the slipper dessert when we have our ADR at CRT so we still get to see it and eat it :).

orangetiggs
02-22-2008, 10:06 AM
yes we are having the major domo, *** we are not having a disco he is good to announce us into the reception etc, we are not telling anyone about him either. We have two best men so i'm not sure how we are going to trick them into believing they have the ring!

I'm tempted by the ford they have. I saw the rolls and its just like the ones we have hear, infact it prob is *** its right hand drive!

I also saw the limos and they are just normal white ones as well

the dessert was nice but no way worth what you pay for it. the slipper was just filled with cream (well it tasted like it) and then a really rich chocolate mouse. Its great if you are just buying one but for everyone at the wedding its a lot and then to have cake and a dessert party is what to much sweet stuff!

The food is really large portions as well, we are only haveing 3 courses and hopefully sorbet and we were stuffed after the tasting and they said that these are not the portions for the wedding!

B2B-2008
02-22-2008, 10:12 AM
Did you take any pictures of the Ford? We ere thinking of going with the Rolls but the Ford is that little bit cheaper.

No one is going to know about the Major Domo for our ceremony either, I'm not really into having him but as it is one of Darren's few requests I think we should include him.

If we are able to have Mickey we are also going to keep him secret

orangetiggs
02-22-2008, 10:17 AM
no i only saw the rolls and carriage as we saw weddings using them. Outside the grand is an old cadilac(sp!) which looks like the ford which i love so i think we will have that and its alot cheaper than the carriage.

I would love mickey but i'm not allowed him! I might sneek it in if the budget permits and not tell df!!

B2B-2008
02-22-2008, 10:20 AM
We aren't 100% on having Mickey as I didn't want to do the first dance thing with them, but my planner said we don't have to do that. I really want him there for photos with him in my wedding dress. Also my brother hates Disney so he will have to have photos with him if he is there.

We finally had our phone planning secession the other night and it all went very well. Basically we just confirmed the way that we wanted the pre-reception to flow. This will include the cake cutting and MIckey Mouse visit.

We also talked about our meal options. We didn't find anything we liked on the sample menus supplied so after many hours of looking at WDW restaurant menus we asked about some of the items that we liked on these. Our planner has got to confirm what items can be provided.

All we have to do now is talk about our flower choices and wait for our BEO's :confused3

I'm so nervous they changed the design of the back to a lace up so I have no idea what it will look like.

Thank you, I was so nervous and so worried I would look fat. All that worrying for nothing!

They put a hoop on me today but they also said they could put a hoop in the lining of the dress if I didn't want it so big or if I was worried about getting to hot. I like the way it looks with the hoop so I may hire it. I don't have to decide until my first official fitting which will be in the first week of July. I haven't updated this in quite a while so I thought I would share with you the photos of things that we have done over the past few months. I have my final BEO now also so I will add that over the weekend.

THe bridesmaids dresses are now in the shop and we are starting fittings over the next few weeks. Here is Suzie with her dress on

I also have their shoes. The older girls shoes are slightly lighter than mine and Caitlin's but I don't think anyone will notice.

We practiced putting them on each other when we got them and I started to cry. What am I going to be like on the wedding day!

I also had a hair trial to see what my hair would look like up. She did it in quite a funky style which I don't know if I will have on the wedding day but as long as it is up with my veil at the back I will be happy.

The was a longer version that they did originally ask me to try but I felt like there was a lot going on and I don't think I would have liked it in the Florida heat. So I went with the shorter version in the end.

Suzie and Caitlin

Their fittings went fine. Suzie's dress was taken in and Caitlin's fitted like a glove. I only have some photos of Caitlin, I was to busy stressing about shoes when I was at Suzie's fitting!!

The Big SHOE Problem!!!!!

When choosing my bridesmaids outfits I said all along that I wanted them to match. I also wanted them to have dyed shoes to match the colour of the dresses. My mum talked me out of this as she said it was a waste of money.

Well when we were at Talisa's first fitting Mum said it would look better if the older girls shoes were dyed!!! So we asked the shop to dye them for us. Well three weeks to go and the dye didn't take the shoes looked terrible and they were sold to me as shoes that could be dyed. Well this nearly pushed me other the edge but mum was brilliant she went and got my money back from the shoe shop. So at Talisa's second fitting we had some shoes put aside for her to try but she has funny shaped feet so none of them fitted her. So we had an hour to find new shoes before she went home.

We found some silver sandals in the end but now all my bridesmaids will have different shoes as Talisa needed a different style to fit her. Not what I wanted but to be honest we haven't got the time to hunt down shoes and I'm not a great shopper I just wanted the problem solved. Sorry I have no photos girls as the shoes are now packed and ready to go!

Virgin Holiday Drama

Now all of my holidays that I have booked in the past eight years have been with Virgin and I have never had any problems this time I think they are testing me.

A few weeks ago I had my room block confirmation sent to me. It showed that my Mum, Mick and Talisa's room was booked at a different resort to us. So I questioned it thinking it was just human error, I booked us all in to the same resort and I had double checked the paperwork countless times. It turns out that the Disney system was showing them in a different resort so I had to call Virgin. It took all day for them to sort it out and thankfully it is sorted now but I was so worried they wouldn't be able to fit them in the same resort now with just a few weeks before we arrive. Did I really need this stress.

I also spent over an hour with them on the phone on Thursday because for our Discovery Cove Day they had Caitlin as an adult and Talisa as a Child. When they corrected the error the system then tried to refund me half of our money back as if to cancel two of the bookings in our group. Thankfully I also got them to double check our paperwork and they had also made errors with my limo transfers.

Thankfully these problems have been noticed before we have left and not whilst we are there.

We have had some crafty moments at my Mums house!

I'm not having a hen do in England. We are having a girly day the day before the wedding and I want everyone to know we are there for a wedding so we made some tops for all the girls that day. It took us ages.

MY DF doesn't want to wear the Mickey ear top hat when we are there so I got him a grooms cap which also come with a brides cap so we added some Mickey's to it. I'm going to get the Mickey ears.

We also added two hidden Mickey's to my veil. I was worried about doing this but I don't think it turned out that bad.

Wedding Day Plans (Finally)

We were debating lots of our options as when we started planing this wedding we wanted to stick to the $10,000 but as time got nearer we thought we are only ever going to do this once so my DF let me add in Cindy's Coach and some other extras, this is the guy who vowed he would never get in it. So our weddings final cost was...

$16745.88

I know this is only for 12 people but I am having the wedding I have dreamed of since 1996, and believe me we have worked hard for this day/holiday.

So here are our plans

Our Planner - Michelle Gilhooly
Officiant - Rev. Kevin Knox
Photography - Misty Miotto (All Day)
Videography - STVS (Five Hours)

We are getting married at the Wedding Pavilion at 2.30 pm.
We have booked Cinderella's Carriage and a limo for the other guests.
We have booked the Major Domo. I'm not sure about this choice but this is one of my DF's requests as he has no best man.

Our pre-reception is at the White Hall Room Patio and is going to be an hour and a half long and the Major Domo is going to stay to do our announcements. During this time we will have the cake cutting and Mickey and Minnie will visit us. We have the violin solo booked for our pre-reception.

At 5pm we will move in to the White Hall Room for our first dance and dinner. We are going to have the Roman table and piano set up. We also have the pianist booked for dinner.

At 7.30 pm we will go to our dessert party in Morocco. I have asked to have this extended for an extra half an hour.

We also have the MK photo shoot booked for two days after our wedding and I have ordered the Hi-Res CD.

Wedding Ceremony Music

We have chosen the following music for our ceremony.

Prelude: A Whole New World
Groom: Someday My Prince Will Come
Bridesmaids: Cannon In "D"
Bride: Chime The Hour/Traditional Wedding March
Domo: Fanfare/A Dream Is A Wish Your Heart Makes
Unity: All I Ask Of You
Recessional: Queen Of Sheba/Can You Feel The Love Tonight

Pre-Reception Food

Bottled Water (BOC)
Sparkling Wine (BOC)
Fresh fruit display
Antipasto display

Wedding Cake

Two tier Mickey Wave cake with white chocolate castle cake topper. Marble cake with dark chocolate mousse.

Dinner Menu

We have requested beef for the main course but both me and my mum will be having a chicken for our main.

Chicken satay with peanut sauce
Strawberry sorbet in Cinderella's slipper ice sculpture with a purple glow
Twin beef filet with maple BBQ sauce or parmesan crusted chicken breast with mushroom marsala sauce with yukon gold mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables
Rolls and butter
Wedding cake and vanilla ice cream for dessert
Coffee and Tea

We are having the package bar during dinner.

Dessert Party

We have decided on the Petit Classics menu which contains the following

Cheesecake
Chocolate eclair
Chocolate fudge brownies
Pistachio cannoli
Linzer diamonds
Cream horns
Fruit tart
Tiramisu

We would have never had a wedding like we are having in Disney in England we wouldn't have been able to afford it, I would say it would have been easily more than double. I know we aren't having as many guests as we would have had in England but all the important ones will be there and the people that couldn't make it will get to see our video.

Hi Girls we are home and married!

We had a fantastic two week holiday but feel that we didn't do as much of Disney as we wanted to do but having a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding made up for that and it also gives us a reason to try and go back to Florida next year :woohoo:

Going on holiday with ten people is really quite draining and also at times quite stressful but I'm pleased to say we all got through it without any major melt downs.

We also had a few problems to address, these included a forgotten vail and a forgotten mother of the groom outfit!!!

To get you started and so you don't have to wait to long as we were there a few days before the wedding Stan has put our sneak peak on line. Here is the link

http://www.stvsweddings.com/sneakpeeks/sneakpeeks.html

The username is blu-ray and the password is magic.

Misty also sent us a few pics so we can show our dad's as neither of them could make it to Florida.

DAY 1 - Getting to the airport
We spent the days before we left for Florida mostly going up and down motor-ways, my mum lives about an hour and a half from us now and she was storing all of the wedding stuff so we had to go there to pick things up that she didn't have room for in her cases. My bother also lives an hour from us in the other direction from my mum and we had to pick up my niece and have her with us she was on my mums booking, so we needed her there to check in.

Because of the distances from the airport we decided to stay at the Hilton hotel the night before this meant we could check into the flight the night before and check in all the cases. I was worried about this as my dress had to be put in the hold but I'm pleased to say it got there safely and in one piece.

PROBLEM 1 - How many bags, you won't get into my cab!!
We had booked a cab weeks in advance to take us to the airport. To save money they advised us to book a big people carrier, I told them how many cases we had and they told us it would be fine and agreed a price. I was expecting a van type vehicle to pick us us but they sent a normal size people carrier for five people and eight cases. When the driver turned up and saw this

http://img125.imageshack.us/img125/8715/dscn1601op3.jpg

he said there was no way he could take us. I kindly told him it was our wedding trip and he needed to sort this problem out and that we wasn't prepared to pay extra as they had told us they could get us to the airport with no problems. He quickly got on the phone we had to do a bit of a deal in the end but they sent us another car for an extra £20 which I was happy with because it should have been an extra £60. And they also agreed to keep that deal for the return trip.

We finally got to the airport and checked in and I prayed that my wedding dress would get there safely and not go on the missing list. Before we had left for the airport I had discovered that Virgin had reassigned our seats on the plane and we would all be sitting apart. I really wanted us sitting together that day as it was my step-dads birthday so I must admit I played the wedding card again and the lady was really nice and was able to put us all together.

We then booked into the Hilton and got talking to the man behind the desk for a while my niece mentioned that my name would be different in a few days and he asked why and she told them we was getting married. As a present they sent some Champagne to our room. Through choice I don't drink but everyone else enjoyed it.

http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/8003/dscn1603zo1.jpg

We then went off to find some dinner it was at this point we discovered the following problem

PROBLEM 2 - My mum forgot to pack my vail!

We were talking about how I wanted my hair and I asked my mum where did she pack it and she then remembered that she had left it at home. Now let me just let you all know I am a born worrier and I worry and stress about everything but I was very calm about this problem. I think the fact that my mum was nearly in tears helped me keep calm, I told her not to worry and we rang Carolyn Allen's from the airport and booked an appointment for Saturday morning. I didn't tell my mum but they told me they only had a few ivory ones in the shop this fact alone made me have a sleepless night!

DAY 2 - Florida here we come!

After my very sleepless night we all got up and got ready to make our way to the departure gate but we had one thing we needed to do first. I had a spare padlock for the cases and my brother wanted it but he wasn't getting to the airport until the morning so we said we would meet them at the Virgin desks. Well the airport was a nightmare it was the first day of the summer holidays and the place was rammed. This started me stressing! I love my brother to pieces but as a family that aren't very organized and I hold told them quite a few times they needed to give themselves at least three hours to get through the the airport checks etc, it was 8.30 am and they still wasn't there and the queue for the Virgin flights was miles long! My mum started to stress at me as she didn't want there to be any tension at the start of the holiday so she went off to try and find them. They found them in the end and we gave them the padlock, we went through security to have breakfast whilst they waited in the very long queue. All I can say is Virgin twilight check in is a blessing as they were in the queue for ages and it only took us ten minutes to check in the night before.

Finally they got through to the departure lounges
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/4003/dscn1604qy0.jpg
http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/299/dscn1605ll6.jpg

After the long fight we finally got to Orlando in one piece but we did nearly all kill each other in the airport as it all got a bit confusing with our cases and where they were sent. The thing that helped calm the situation was the fact that I had hired us some limos to pick us up as part of my dads birthday treats and that made everyone happy as it was a surprise for everyone.

We had a lovely air conditioned ride to the Port Orleans French Quarter and checked in really quickly. I asked if we could all be in the same building and they were able to put all our rooms together. Not quite what you want on your honeymoon but it was really helpful during the holiday.

We had a quick look around the hotel and then made our way to downtown disney for some dinner and some shopping as I wanted to get a few wedding thank you gifts.

DAY 3 - Marriage License Day/Mick's 60th Birthday Meal
We all got up quite early this morning because of the time difference which is what we wanted as I wanted to get to the court house for when it opened. We left my brother and his family in the hotel and Mum and Mick came with us to have a look around the world outside of Disney. As we decided not to hire a car so we did this trip by taxi. I didn't take any photos of our trip, I wanted to but it got quite busy at the court house when we left and there was quite a big group of people outside.

Getting the license was easier than I expected it was going to be and it made us laugh when we had to swear the oath as we wasn't expecting to do that.

This was one of the most expensive taxi journeys of the whole trip. The taxi driver froze our fair when we waited for us at the courthouse but then my mum decided that she needed to buy some tea bags as we couldn't find any at the POFQ so the driver stopped at walmart but this time he left the meter running. We waited in the taxi whilst my mum and Mick went in the shop, they were in there for ages, my mum fell in love with walmart but I know she would have been a lot quicker if she knew the meter was still running. By the time we got back to the hotel the taxi bill was $85!

We had lunch booked at Crystal Palace so we met my brother and then made our way to the Magic Kingdom.

Here we are waiting for the bus.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/2392/dscn1611yn1.jpg

Now my plan for today was to go on a few of the rides that my parents could handle, have lunch, see the parade and then make our way back to the hotel to get ready for dinner. This never happened. By the time we got into the Magic Kingdom and collected my brothers passes it was 11am it took us over an hour to walk down Main Street!!! For the first few days Darren thought that the Magic Kingdom was just the castle and main street!

Here are some photos of our journey down Main Street, we stopped for a meet and greet, you would have thought that between four cameras one of us would have got a good photo!

We stopped to look at all the horses and cars that travel Main Street, we stopped to take pictures of the castle

And of course stopped to take group pictures in front of the castle

http://img105.imageshack.us/img105/829/dsc00338sz3.jpg

After our long slow walk we made it to a ride :woohoo:, well we made it to Monsters Inc. This was so funny my brother hated every moment of it he was dreading being picked on and I could feel him wanting to run out the doors screaming as he sat next to me.

After Monsters our group split up, my brother and his family went back to the hotel for a swim and we headed to

Crystal Palace Lunch
Apart from the wedding day this would be the last time we had our photos with any characters. Darren was put off by all the long queues waiting for characters but this is on our list of things to do if we can go back in May.

I checked us in to Crystal Palace and we didn't have to wait that long.

They had decorated the table for us

http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/1148/dsc00341hj3.jpg

The food here was brilliant there was a good mix so I decided on some salad as I knew that over the next two weeks we would mostly be eating fast food. I have never been to a character meal before and I was pleasantly surprised. I was expecting it to be really noisy and very busy but it wasn't like that at all.

Here are some of the pictures that we took

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/7729/dscn1625ol1.jpg

http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/8381/dsc00346sx5.jpg

After lunch I wanted to get a good viewing position for the parade but Darren had eaten a little to much for lunch and had made himself feel ill so we headed back to the hotel to get him out of the heat. I wanted him to rest so that he would make it to Mick's birthday meal and be able to enjoy it.

Mick's Birthday Dinner at O'hana's
We left the hotel at 6.30pm to make our way over to the poly, we booked in to O'hana's and then had a look around the hotel. We bumped into a bridesmaid at the smoking area and she told everyone that Mickey turned up at the wedding and it was fantastic, she asked me if we had Mickey booked and I just said we couldn't afford it. I had him booked but he was meant to be a surprise for everyone on the day. Thankfully my niece's didn't hear that conversation as they would have kept asking if he was going to be there.

We again didn't have to wait that long to be seated and we had a great table right by the window with a view of the castle. The food was fantastic everyone loved it. Caitlin and Talisa joined in with all the games and they even got us up to dance at one point.

http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/421/dsc00373ta1.jpg

After our dinner when we couldn't possibly eat anymore they brought out Mick's surprise birthday cake. Mick was really shocked, all he kept saying was who did this over and over again. He said no one had ever done anything like that for him before so I am so glad we booked the cake. We did have quite a lot of it left over but we said the staff could have it.

Day 3 - Continued

After dinner we jumped on the monorail to the Magic Kingdom. I was going to see a parade and do some more rides that day if it killed me! It was also extra magic hours that day so I thought we should take full advantage.

We got into the park about 20 minutes before wishes was going to start so I walked everyone up main street and got to just before the hub, fantastic viewing point or so I thought. Not everyone in the group was that happy with how crowed it was and wanted to move to a less crowded spot right near a tree!

Here are some of the good photos that Darren got. His holiday job was photos mine was filming.

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3071/dsc00403ww1.jpg
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/4710/dsc00416to7.jpg
http://img291.imageshack.us/img291/7298/dsc00401so6.jpg

Everyone was amazed by the fireworks it puts our November the 5th displays to shame. I managed to find us all some seats to wait for SpectroMagic, it was starting an hour after the fireworks but I didn't see the point of moving and fight the crowds. It was at this point that my nieces decided they wanted to do the Stitch ride. I don't like this ride, it scared me when it was the horrible alien ride so I won't even attempt it. I got a little upset by this as I wanted the girls to see the parade but my brother and his family don't get the Disney parade thing and don't see the point of waiting for them so they left us. At this point my mum and step-dad decided that they were really tired, we did all wake up really early, so they got the bus back to French Quarter. It was at this point that I realized that none of this holiday was going to go to my plan, I wanted to show my family so much to show them why I love Disney so much, so I did something totally out of character and decided just to roll with it and not let it upset me. This left me and Darren, and bless him it was his first ever trip to Disney and he totally got the whole parade and show thing and was quite happy to wait for SpectroMagic. So we found ourselves a good spot on Main Street and waited.

http://img143.imageshack.us/img143/8644/dsc00454cd0.jpg
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3376/dsc00452nv6.jpg

Darren loved the parade he tried to take photos of everything but I think he was rushing the camera so not many of them came out that well.

When it had finished I got a text from Anya, they never got on the Stitch ride as there was some problems with it and that have seen the parade from one of the bridges. Remembering that my brother and his wife hate Disney it was at this point that they both admitted that they had got excited when they saw Mickey Mouse!

We decided to make our way to pirates so we could at least do our second ride of the trip. Everyone was really impressed with pirates and at one point they thought that they were outside. I love the addition of Captain Jack I just wish he had been in it a bit more.

We were all feeling pretty tired when we left pirates and decided to call it a night. I don't know if it is my sight but I found it quite hard walking around Magic Kingdom in the dark, I think you could easily get lost.

When we got back to the hotel we set the alarm as we had a 10 am appointment the next day to sort out the veil problem.

DAY 4 - Can we sort out the veil problem? And a trip to Hollywood Studios
We decided to do a girl only trip to Carolyn Allens to find a new veil. The boys stayed around the pool for the morning and my nieces went swimming. My mum felt so bad leaving my veil at home that she had offered to buy a new one, we didn't want her to but she wouldn't take no for an answer so I paid the taxi fare. So me, my mum and Anya made the trip. We got there a little late as the taxi driver wasn't 100% sure where it was but he was very helpful as he called them for us to let them know we were on the way. He was a very nice man he even waited for us when we were in the shop and didn't charge any extra.

Carolyn Allens were really helpful, they even know that I had booked them for the steaming for Wednesday and I'm sure that we didn't mention it. They had four ivory veils in the shop, white must be a more popular colour in the states! Two of them had gold stitching on them which wouldn't go with all my silver, there was one heavily beaded and the last one was on a dummy in the window. You can guess which one I wanted. They had to take down all of the display to get the veil for me, it was perfect and I think even better than the one we had left at home. I think we were out of the shop in twenty minutes. This made our taxi driver laugh as he thought we were going to be in there for ages and he didn't believe us when we said that it wouldn't take us long. Didn't he know I had to try and get on more rides!!

We soon got back to our hotel and the whole group was on their way to Hollywood Studios. We had lunch booked at 50's prime time for just the four of us but we decided to cancel it to try to spend some time at the park.

We took our group shots again when we got there

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/2003/dsc00469yu7.jpg

and then made our way to

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3215/dsc00470tc4.jpg

The girls wanted to go on the big thrill rides first but I thought it would be nice to go on something that we could all go on and enjoy. I was a bit nervous about what my parents would think, they don't do rides, but they laughed all the way through it.

Now our group took ages to walk anywhere. My nieces would stop to look at things, I would stop to film and my mum and Darren took photos of everything. So we decided to walk very slowly to the tower of terror to see how long the wait was, Mum and Mick was quite happy to stop and have a drink somewhere. The queue was over an hour so we decided to pass as we didn't think it was fair for the others to wait that long for us.

So we stopped and had some lunch and then made another slow walk to the backlot ride, stopping to take more photos on the way.

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/9519/dsc00489im9.jpg
http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/5136/dsc00493du0.jpg

We finally made it to the ride!

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/3965/dsc00507tj2.jpg

Our plan was to then see some of the shows before we had dinner at Borma but when we got off of the ride Darren got very ill again and we had to go back to the hotel. So we cancelled another ADR as I didn't was Darren to go if he didn't feel well enough, we needed him fit for the wedding!

Darren's mum and step-dad was flying in that day so we waited in the hotel for them. All of our rooms were together and I noticed in the morning that the room next to my brothers the people were checking out that day so I played the wedding card with the checkin desk in the morning to see if we could get his parents in that room and it worked.

When they got to the hotel and unpacked Darren's mum realized that she had left her mother of the groom outfit at home. I was in fits of giggles at this point, how many more things could we leave at home! So we decided to cancel our Epcot day the next day and go shopping instead to try to fix this new problem.

After we made our new plan for the next day we all walked down to riverside to try their food court.

http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/469/dsc00512xt7.jpg
http://img247.imageshack.us/img247/6149/dsc00513uk5.jpg

It was a very nice walk and quite a relaxing evening. Thankfully Darren was starting to feel better so that was a good sign the wedding would still go ahead.

Coming next - Do we find a new mother of the groom outfit or will we have more problems!

DAY 5 - Can we sort out the mother of the groom outfit problem? And a trip to Epcot

Another day another cancelled ADR!
We had lunch booked at Le Celler today, I was really looking forward to this as I really wanted to try their famous soup. But Darren's mum wanted to get to the shops as soon as they opened at 12. This did upset me a bit but I had given up on this holiday ever going to plan so I didn't say anything about it. Hay I had already been as Disney for three days and only seen one parade, and I love the parades! Our parents not understanding the whole ADR system said we could just book a table for another day, I knew there was no chance of getting in there now and we did try quite a bit to get a table in there.

So instead we decided to take them to downtown Disney in the morning and get a taxi from there to the shops.

First we walked around the hotel to see if the boats were running to downtown, they didn't start until 11 am so we decided to get a taxi in the end just to get there a bit quicker.

We took some photos around the hotel as we went.

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/4232/dsc00529vw8.jpg
http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/3003/dsc00530iu5.jpg

I think we went in every shop in the market place. I was mentally noting all the items that I wanted to buy but never got time to in the end, another reason to go back to Disney. We had to keep an eye on my mums spending, she is terrible with different currency and normally ends up spending most of her budget in the first few days. Mick had her on a daily spending limit. :laugh3:

We got some lunch before we left at Earl of Sandwich to make sure we had full stomachs for our big shopping trip.

We had decided to go to The Mall At Millenia as we thought that would be the best bet to get a new mother of the groom outfit from.

The Taxi driver took us to Macys first. This was the best thing he could have done Macys is fantastic it was just full of evening dresses and Darren's mum managed to find a dress she liked in about 30 minutes. I also found a nice dress which we got for a friends wedding in November. Because of how much the taxi cost to get here, over $50, we decided to stay for a bit longer as I know we wouldn't come back here during this trip and I really wanted to visit Abercrombie.

First we found Tiffany & Co, love Tiffanys silver so Darren treated me to a necklace that I have had my eye on for over two years that matched my bracelet. He wanted to buy me some other items in there but I wouldn't let him as I didn't want to waste our hard earned money we still had the wedding day that we had to have money for.

We then found Abercrombie, Darren isn't very big on designers and didn't know what this shop was. I told him to just get some t-shirts as we only have one of these shops in England and it is very expensive and that everyone at home would be jealous. I picked up lots of items for Darren and a few t-shirts and jumpers for me we ended up coming out with four bags full to the brim!

After our big shop we decided to call it a day and head back to the hotel.

Mine and Darren's plan for the day was to head over to Epcot, I wanted to look around world showcase as I have never really enjoyed Epcot before and now that I was older I thought I would appreciate it more.

We finally got to Epcot at about 4pm

http://img84.imageshack.us/img84/3212/dsc00535ai6.jpg

All of the big rides had major queues so we skipped them as I didn't want to waste what little time we had there in line, all of the fast passes had gone. We went to the Ellen energy show, Darren found this quite boring but I love it, I think the dinosaurs are amazing. We also went in spaceship earth which we both really enjoyed, I wanted to go to Nemo before we went to the showcase so we made our way there. At that point the heavens opened and we ended up standing under cover for over an hour and a half looking at this

http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/6181/dsc00542kj9.jpg

The rain wasn't going to let up so we ran over to Nemo stopping to take a photo on the way

http://img224.imageshack.us/img224/3199/dsc00546rt2.jpg

I loved Nemo, I thought it was very cleaver defiantly one of my favorites.

It was still raining when we had stopped looking around at all the fish, we totally missed the dolphins, but we wasn't going to give up so we walked to Canada picking up some ponchos on the way. But the rain wouldn't give up and it was getting heavy again so we called it a day as I was cold and hungry. I was also a bit tired as I had woke up at 5 am, this was something I did a lot on the first few days which my mum put down to excitement.

We jumped in a Taxi back to the hotel and ordered a Pizza. Darren went back to the room to pick up our refillable cups. When he was up there Talisa come out of her room in a fluster. She had stayed at the hotel all day and was on her own, my brother was at Epcot with Anya and Caitlin and our parents were at the riverside food court. She had some up in red bumps and didn't know what it was, it was heat rash Darren told her to get in a cold shower to cool off and we would check on her in a bit.

We took the pizza up to the room, by this time Talisa was out of the shower and her skin had calmed down, so she came into our room and had dinner with us, the incredibles were on so we watched that. Jason, Anya and Caitlin also came in and joined us, they also got stuck in the rain at Epcot. They left Caitlin with us whilst they went to get some food. After everyone had eaten we all called it a night.

Coming up our water park day and another attempt at Epcot.

Yes I mean Hilaryb's in colchester.

Thanks for the next installment. How cool that the mil found an outfit so quickly :)

I haven't sent a photo to Hilary B's. I didn't get my wedding dress from that shop as they don't stock Hollywood Dreams but there is a dress in there that looks like mine. My bridesmaids dresses are from there.

DAY 6 - Blizzard Beach & Epcot take 2

Today was going to be our official rest day the plan was we wanted to be as relaxed as possible for our wedding day. So we planned to spend the day at Blizzard Beach. I had arranged to meet up with Suzie, my MOH, her husband Simon and his sister and her son here. We had all left England on the same day but had booked with different travel companies so this was going to be the first time we got to see them. We all arranged to meet up at 10am at the entrance. I was a bit worried about my brothers family all being ready on time but they were all ready to go. Darren's mum didn't join us as they only had a weeks holiday and wanted to make the most of the parks.

When we had finally sorted ourselves out and picked out our sun beds we all made our way to the lazy river, I'm no good with water slides so this is my favorite thing of all in the water parks. My mum can't swim but because I had always said good things about the lazy river she wanted to join us and we managed to get her in a ring. Mick couldn't get in a ring and gave up trying when the currents had taken us to far away for him to catch up so he went back to the sun beds and waited for us.

Here are some photos that we took

The others decided to get out after a little while to try some of the sides so I stayed in with my mum. We carried on round for a while but felt guilty about Mick so we decided to get out. I hadn't thought about how I was going to get mum out of the ring on my own until I had to do it! Mum is really scared of water so wouldn't flip herself out of the ring so I pulled her over to the steps and tried to pull her out of the ring when her feet found a step to stand on. Now I have no strength so I was finding this quite hard and I was getting a bit worried about mum fulling into the water but I didn't want her to sense it. Thankfully a really nice man came along and helped to pull her out of the ring. If he didn't do that I'm sure we would still be there now.

We got off and the wrong exit and ended up walking round the whole of the park, stopping to take a picture on the way

http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/2572/cnv00019xo1.jpg

We finally got back to Mick and the others were still on the slides. We were sitting near one of the slides and I heard Talisa coming down so I managed to get a photo of her and my brother on the way out of the slide.

http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/3004/cnv00018xb9.jpg

When everyone got back to us they tried to get me to go on some of the slides. I didn't feel that comfortable or safe in the swimsuit that I was wearing so I passed. Darren, Suzie and Simon went to the big slide and I waited with my mum and Mick at the sun beds.

We had quite a nice chat with the lady sitting next to us, she was from Florida and mum loved to tell her all about our upcoming wedding.

When Caitlin came back to us she asked is she could take some photos on the camera and I let her take it. She managed to use up the whole film with photos like this

http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/9297/cnv00011kr2.jpg

After Darren had fun on the slide we took mum and Mick to get some lunch. I was starting to feel restless, and I really wanted to get out of the swimsuit so we decided to call it a day and visit Epcot again. The others wanted to stay which was fine by us as Darren and I would get to spend some time on our own. The heat was also starting to get to Mum and Mick so they also got the bus with us back to the hotel. It started to rain just as we got on the bus.

DAY 6 - Continued

After we had freshened up we took the bus to Epcot. We had a dinner ADR at Coral Reef and told mum that we would meet them all outside the restaurant.

When we got to Epcot the queues for the big rides were massive again and all the fast passed had gone. Mission Space didn't have that long a wait so we made our way over to it.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9698/dsc00552uo8.jpg

Now the big decision what version of the ride we were going to do. We decided to do the full version of the ride as Caitlin had been on this the day before and she is only 9 so if she can do it so can we! I must admit I was so nervous before getting on this ride I was worried that I was going to be sick and that I would panic in the small space. I couldn't believe how easy I found this ride it really made me laugh. I was really quite disappointed that we didn't get to land back on earth as I really wanted to do the take off again.

As we walked around a cast member stopped us and asked us if we wanted our picture taken which I thought was very nice of them.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/599/dsc00558ac6.jpg

We then walked over to the land to go on the land ride.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/1695/dsc00549tw9.jpg
http://img217.imageshack.us/img217/1830/dsc00548om7.jpg

We then went on the figment ride which meant I was signing his song for the whole of the holiday. We then moved onto Honey I shrunk the audience. I'm terrible on the 3D rides and always take my glasses off. Darren didn't also understand why I sat on the seat with my legs crossed up on the seat. He realised when the ride had ended! Darren loved this ride and thought it was very cleaver.

It was then time to meet everyone for dinner, again they were all on time which I was very impressed with. My family are the worlds worst at time keeping.

I must say I was a bit worried about eating in Coral Reef as I'm not a fish lover but this was one of the beast meals of the whole holiday. This will be one of the places we would eat again if we go back to the world.

We didn't wait that long to be seated. We had big table at the back of the restaurant and the view of the tank was fine, but for some reason we didn't take any photos of it. We were given personalized menus which we loved. I did think that they might give them to our whole group but they only gave them to me and Darren. They must have thought it really wired that we were on honeymoon with eight other people.

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/8465/p1010071ah6.jpg

I had the steak which was fantastic. I'm not a steak lover but I would eat this one every night if I could.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/8997/dsc00571cw3.jpg

Darren had the chicken and was very jealous of my steak but I did let him try it.

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3188/dsc00572mt8.jpg

The waitress was really nice and let us both have the children's dessert which they gave to us free of charge.

http://img218.imageshack.us/img218/3608/dsc00574kq5.jpg

When we left we took advantage of the empty park and took some more photos.

We decided to take the long way back to the hotel using as many modes of the Disney transport as possible so that Darrens mum and Jamie could experience them all. We took the monorail to the TTC, my brother and his family got to ride on in the front which we didn't hear the end of for the whole holiday, I was like hello I'm the bride! Then the ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom, which no one had been on before, we were the only people on it, and then the bus back to the POFQ. OK we did go in a big circle back to the hotel but everyone enjoyed our little sight seeing trip.

Ohhhh, would you recommend the dress shop you got your dress from. If so, where? was it near colchester because a Hollywood dreams dress is my no1 choice. The reason I asked is that the picture of you in your dress looks like the hilaryb's shop upstairs.

I got my wedding dress from a shop in Enfield in London, I really liked them they were really down to earth people. There are hollywood dreams stockists in Brentwood and Rayleigh I think. I went to both shops but I got a discount from the one in Enfield from the wedding show that takes place in earls court each year so that is worth going to.

DAY 7 - The day before the wedding!

Now this day I was looking forward to as we were going to have a girls morning. I didn't have a hen do in England as all the people that I would have gone out with were going to be on holiday with us so I didn't really see the point as we all live in different areas of the country to me it was just an added pressure we didn't need. So we planed to get our nails done today, I had me, my mum, Darren's mum and Talisa booked in at the Beach Club, so we got up early and took a taxi over there. Suzie couldn't make the nail morning as she had to switch hotels so we were going to get together with them later.

I had t-****s made for us all that we all had on this morning. Mine said Bride to be, Talisa's Bridesmaid and the mums had mother of...

Here we are waiting for the Taxi and modeling our t-shirts.
http://img133.imageshack.us/img133/5873/dsc00596bz7.jpg

Both me and Talisa were booked in to get full sets of nails and our mums had manicures. Whilst we were there we decided to also get pedicures, I had never had this done before so this was quite an experience but I'm glad we did as we all had so much fun.

We messed about with the camera a lot whilst we were there.

I did want us to go for a girly lunch after but Darren's mum had told the boys that we would meet up with them at 12 so we had to go back to the hotel. Again I let this go but it was a good thing we didn't have lunch at the Beach Club as we did get quite pushed for time in the afternoon. They boys were glad to see us as they were getting a bit bored at the hotel.

After grabbing some lunch at the POFQ we went back to the room to sort out our wedding day clothes. I had a room booked at the Grand for me and the girls and one for my mum. Me and Darren would also be staying at the grand for two nights to have some time on our own so I also had to pack us some clothes for the next few days.

I also did have a bridezilla moment when we got back to the room as there was a message for us from Ana just checking our appointment. She was a bit confused as she had tried to get us at the grand and they told her that we were at the POFQ so she wanted to double check. I tired to call her back but I couldn't get the number to work and the first man at the reception didn't really help me so I started to panic and finally a nice man called the number for me as I had to add a code to the number or something as it was long distance! Talisa found this quite funny as I was walking round reception demanding that someone help me as I was getting married tomorrow!

We had a dinner ADR at the Whispering Canyon Cafe so my brother had already gone to the Magic Kingdom and he was going to meet us at the Wilderness Lodge, Darren's mum also left us at this point and was going to do the same thing.

My parents, Talisa, Darren and me took a taxi over to the Grand. We had used so many taxi's by this point I should have just hired a driver! I was very concerned with the time as we had an appointment with our wedding planner Michelle at Franks at 3.30 and it was getting late.

So we get to the Grand and booked mum and Mick in without any problems but they couldn't find my booking. It seamed like we were waiting forever and the clock was ticking. Finally they worked out the problem they had decided to upgrade us because of the wedding and we were under a new reference. They have moved us to the secret floor in the main building on the concierge level. This meant we had to go up in one lift across a corridor and then down in another lift to get to our room. Now I really don't mean to sound ungrateful about the upgrade as it really did help us with our breakfasts etc but it was just the getting to the room that caused a few problems as you needed the key card to get to the floors and there was a lot of people that needed to get into our room on the wedding day.

By the time we found the room both me and Darren had to race to Franks to meet Michelle. I was a little upset at this as I had no time to take in the hotel that I had wanted to stay in for years. Also my mum wanted to visit Franks and it would have helped her to be at this meeting as I had kept the wedding planning so to myself that there was some information passed onto us in this meeting that would have helped her on the wedding day.

Whilst we were at Franks mum unpacked the wedding outfits for us and took some photos of our room. I'm so glad she did this as this is the one thing I always forget to do.

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/4184/dscn1689ny0.jpg

We got to Franks on time and the lovely assistant called all our vendors for me to tell them what room we were booked into, I didn't even have time to do this! It was so nice meeting Michelle in person for the first time she talked us through everything that was going to happen on our wedding day. It was so funny because it was as if Darren was seeing all the plans for the first time. We had been planning this for over a year, we talked about it all the time, he even made choices about the wedding, picked the food, men!

DAY 7 - Whispering Canyon Cafe

After seeing Michelle we made our way back to our room, slower than we went before but still in a bit of a rush.

Mum and Mick decided to find their room after our meal so we went to get another Taxi to the Wilderness Lodge. If we had more time I would have liked to use the Disney Transport but we just didn't have any time. We got there with just enough time to spare but no one else was there yet so we waited for them in the reception. I also made some tops for us to wear in the evening which we remembered to put on just as we left the grand.

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/8326/dscn1695ia3.jpg

My brother turned up first, again I was amazed by this, and Anya had picked up some ears for me as I thought it would be fun for all of my birdesmaids to wear them tonight. Anya modeled them with me whilst we waited for the others.

http://img88.imageshack.us/img88/9817/dscn1698el5.jpg

Darren's mum and Jamie turned up next but Suzie was having problems with her new hotel as her holiday company had got their booking wrong, they only had one room for them when there should have been two. Thankfully they got it sorted and got to us in time for our ADR.

We had an early ADR because there was 14 of us so they seated us all really quickly. Because there was 14 of us four of our group had to sit on a different table. Simon and Suzie took this with his sister and nephew as I had invited them all to this meal. I did feel quirt bad about this and tried to involve them as much as possible.

We took some fun photos with the ears whilst we waited for our food.

I had totally given up on trying to watch what I was eating by now so me and Darren shared this for dinner.

Caitlin asked for ketchup and our table ended up looking like this.

And Talisa, who was the one getting picked on the most, drunk like a fish and was presented with a very big glass and fast pass.

http://img68.imageshack.us/img68/3655/dsc00613os9.jpg

After our meal our waiter pulled both me and Darren up and we had to kiss infront of everyone! Its normally me that goes bright red but this time it was Darren.

http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/9696/dscn1710et0.jpg

After the meal I thought that Darren and the guys would go for a drink and then the girls could go to the Magic Kingdom to watch the fireworks but this didn't happen as everyone was quite tired. So we went back to the Grand for a drink in the bar. I went with my mum to move her into their room which was in one of the other buildings as Anya wanted to wash Caitlin's hair and put her to bed as she was staying in mum and Mick's room that night. After much messing around and sorting things out everyone left Me, Suzie and Talisa on our own in the room.

We had a special delivery arrive as we watched the fireworks from our window. I saved the alcohol for Darren as I didn't think it was fair from him to not see our gift.

http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/9350/dsc00621ae5.jpg
http://img76.imageshack.us/img76/400/dsc00620qn0.jpg

I wanted to get to bed and try to get us much sleep as possible before our big day but we went to bed quite late as Suzie was doing her nails and I wanted to wash my hair so it would be better for Ana to work with and not tight to my head. We finally put the lights out at 11.30 pm.

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Getting Ready

I wasn't expecting to sleep at all the night before the wedding I thought I would be either excited or worried about something. I shared the bed with Suzie and Talisa took the couch, to be honest I think we could have all fit in the bed as it was huge but I'm glad we didn't as Suzie has now told me Talisa was talking in her sleep. I didn't hear this at all and it turns out I slept better than Suzie!

I think I woke because Suzie turned over and I had no idea what the time was so I just laid in bed hoping that it wasn't the early hours of the morning, we had covered the clock on the bedside table as I have trouble getting to sleep with the glow.

Now I was very calm and this has really surprised me. All day I was the calmest person and I am normally the worlds worst worrier and I stress and panic over everything. I can only describe it as if I was out of my body just watching everything and going through the motions, I don't mean this in a bad way I think I just knew the day I had dreamed of since I was sixteen was finally happening and I knew that Disney would take care of everything. I just sat back quietly and took it all in.

Another thing that I stressed about before the wedding was about being able to control my blushing. I go bright red over anything, if I get embarrassed, stressed, if I get excited and animated about anything, I have no control my face turns bright red and no make-up will cover it up. I had two bottles of rescue remedy handy and ready to drink if this happened. I can honestly say I went red once and that was when Ana turned up as they took me a bit by surprise as I had sent the girls down to look for her.

I would love to know how I kept myself so calm and relaxed on the wedding day but I can honestly say I don't know how I did it and even now my family tell me how calm I was and that they couldn't believe it.

Suzie got up to go to the bathroom and when she got back into bed I nearly shouted at her to find out what the time was. I can't remember what her answer was but the next thing I remember is that there was a knock at the door and our room service was delivered. Talisa had never stayed in a hotel that offered room service before so the night before she ordered us some breakfast that both her and Suzie treated me to.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/9400/dsc00622qa1.jpg

Talisa was so excited that it was my wedding day she was almost bouncing off the walls every half an hour she would come up and say to me "Your getting married" and ask me if I was nervous. To be honest I wasn't nervous at all and I was expecting to be as I thought everyone got nervous on their wedding day but I think I was ready and there was no need for me to be nervous. I think at lot of how I was feeling that day was that I couldn't believe it was happening I was at Walt Disney World in Florida with my family and I was getting married at the wedding pavilion! I also think Talisa's excitement helped calm me down she was being excited enough for all of us so I just let her get on with it.

Talisa and Suzie made me breakfast and I just sat on the sofa taking it all in.

The wedding day is a bit of a blur to me as things seamed to happen so fast, only now when talking to my family about the day has the wedding all come together in my head. And I must just say that I was in two minds about getting some of our day filmed and I think it was the best thing we ever did as I didn't really start sinking it until we were sitting down for dinner. Suzie's husband Simon also had our video camera and done some filming for us and I will always be grateful to him for doing that for us.

I think my mum must have called our room at that point to say she was coming over with Caitlin. She was then going to take some breakfast to Mick and come back, poor Mick was banished. I sent the girls down to reception to get them as they need one of the room keys to come up.

It was 7.50 by now, I was in the room on my own and everyone was turning up at 8.00 and I still hadn't had a bath. Now I wanted to have a nice bath and relax and at least shave my legs but I wasn't going to get that done in ten minutes. I had the quickest bath ever and had only changed into my track suit when there was a knock at the door. It was Ana and her assistant, I'm so sorry I can't remember her name, this took me by surprise as I was expecting them to be brought up by Suzie and Talisa but they were still in the reception.

I was still the only one in the room when Carolyn Allens turned up to steam the dresses, thankfully Ana was setting up so I wasn't worried about the girls getting back to the room quickly that much.

When they finally got back to the room with my mum and Caitlin it turns out that they were sorting out a problem. The announcement board in the reception was showing our wedding details but it had my surname spelt wrong, they wanted to get it corrected before I saw it so I wouldn't have to stress.

With everyone in the room the girls started their work Caitlin was the first one to have her hair done and because it was washed the night before it but up a bit of a fight.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/4061/dsc00625ht5.jpg

I think Talisa was the first person to have her make up done and then her hair.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4815/dsc00630lc3.jpg

Now I must just say that Ana's assistant is fantastic she made all of us look fantastic with our make-up, I went from looking like this

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/5292/dsc00628ul9.jpg

to this

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/531/dsc00629kv6.jpg

All I can say is wow when I first saw myself in the mirror I was so shocked at how pretty they made me, my eyes were just as huge as Caitlin's.

I then had my hair put up

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/7227/dsc00635qx5.jpg

and Suzie was last

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9814/dsc00636bg5.jpg

After much debating my mum also had her make up done

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/9420/dsc00632vo3.jpg

Even Caitlin had some at no extra charge.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/7862/dsc00634ig2.jpg

I must just say that sometimes Caitlin can be a handful but both of the girls were fantastic with her even when she was wanting more make-up.

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Getting Ready Continued

When it was 11.00 Ana prompted me to ring Misty as she was meant to be turning up at 11 and still wasn't in our room, it turns out she was in the reception and needed us to come and get her so one of the girls went down with the key. At this point mum must have also gone to get Mick as they had to be out of the room by 11 I remember him sitting on the bed ready when the photos started.

I felt sorry for Mick as he had spent the morning in the other room just waiting. I also thought I would get a bit more time with him but as soon as Misty turned up everything just went full speed ahead.

Misty and her husband are fantastic I would love to work with them again. She knows exactly what photos she wants and I just let her tell us what to do. I trusted her completely. She made me call our planner Michelle to see if we could get our flowers earlier as she knew I wanted to have photos done outside and the quicker we got the flowers the quicker we could get out of the room the more photos she could take.

The first thing that did was take photos of the dresses and then it was finally time to get into my wedding dress. I had picked this dress out over two years ago and now it was finally time for the day to wear it!

The girls helped me into my dress, the men had been sent outside

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/4609/1296ye0.jpg

It took them forever to work out how to tie it up

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/1470/1321if9.jpg
http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/9942/1348xh1.jpg

When the men come back into the room, poor Mick had been waiting in the bathroom and we had forgot about him, Stan was with them. I'm sure he was early but I didn't complain. I thought I would hate being filmed as I normally run a mile but I didn't even notice that he was there most of the time.

Next my mum put my necklace on

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/2904/1386yw4.jpg

this made my mum cry.

Then I put on my earrings, I found this very hard with false nails.

http://img220.imageshack.us/img220/3140/1433rr5.jpg

Then the flowers were in the room.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/8863/1445am5.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/5817/1451uj0.jpg

Now I must admit I was a bit dissapointed at first with the size of my flowers I did think they would be bigger but that soon passed and I loved them. The colour was so striking and I loved my hidden mickey sparkles.

Next Talisa had to put on my shoes.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/6809/1461pn2.jpg
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/5677/1463hu3.jpg

and Caitlin put on my garter, this was my borrowed and blue.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/8712/1534or0.jpg
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/7765/1535it6.jpg

This was so funny as Caitlin kept stopping and asking how high it had to go she thought it just had to go on my calf muscle. The faces she pulled when I kept saying higher made us all laugh. She will probably be traumatized for life.

We then did some fun shots with our ears

Some photos with Mick.

Some with my mum, and more crying

and then photos with them both

The rescue remedy is a herbal treatment that is called rescue remedy. My friend uses it to help her sleep. I have tried to use it at work but I think it doesn't work that well as it is to stressful in the office. I only took it in the morning of the wedding day and didn't feel the need to want to use it again. I may have also took it before I went to sleep the night before but I can't remember now if I did.

My flowers were mini calla lilies and their colour was eggplant.

I love all your getting ready pictures! I have to admit I totally didn't think about having other people do some of those things for me (putting on garter, etc. I ended up doing almost everything myself. My MOH was asking if I needed help with my dress and I went behind the curtain at POR and came out with it on; just needed a zip up in the back :lmao:

Love the Mickey ear shots (I did some like that with my girls at our DP) and I can't wait to see more!

It was Misty's idea that the girls all help me put different items on. I picked Caitlin to put on the garter on as she was the youngest I didn't really want the older girls to do it. Her face was such a picture as she put it on, you could see the shock on her face :rotfl2:

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Pre-ceremony photos

Because Misty knew how much I love all the Disney buildings she moved us outside pretty quickly when we were ready to take our pre-ceremony photos. Now the weather didn't want to play along with us it was starting to rain but at the moment it wasn't that heavy so I didn't really worry about it. This is why in most of my photos I am carrying my dress as we didn't want it to get to wet but this didn't help me in learning how to walk in it, that is the only regret of the day is I didn't know how to walk in my dress without tripping over it!

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/271/4014cm3.jpg

Now I was totally on a different planet as Misty positioned us for the following photos and I have no idea we were standing in-front of the Wedding Pavilion!

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/875/4064mg5.jpg
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3096/4061vm8.jpg
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/2812/4060fq8.jpg
http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/1212/4056kc1.jpg

We then took some fun shots

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/5828/4164tp0.jpg

And then the rain started to get a little bit heaver, I have no idea where this umbrella came from!

http://img227.imageshack.us/img227/3708/4082bz6.jpg

Misty then moved us so we were undercover for some more photos.

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/8858/4098ga0.jpg
http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4169/4094vr2.jpg

It was then time for Misty to go and take Darren's photos so we made our way up to the room. Now I had a little bit of a mini panic in the room as Suzie and Talisa went to get some drinks. They had to go along the hall up the lift along another hall and up the stairs to where the food was kept and then do the return journey and we were getting pushed for time. We had already had the phone call for us to go to the lobby before they got back and I didn't want to be late for our photos as I didn't want to hold anything up. So I was pacing a little bit by the time they got back!

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Pre-ceremony photos continued

When we got the all clear that Darren had gone and the girls had got back to the room we made our way down to the lobby.

Now my eyes aren't that great with distances, thats what you get from to many years working in-front of a computer! I remember getting to the lobby and making our way to the stairs and seeing a lady in a hat and thinking that there must be another wedding today, when I got closer I realized it was my brothers wife Anya!

We started taking my family photos.

http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/8813/4251jp7.jpg
http://img90.imageshack.us/img90/4535/4260ov0.jpg

This is the moment my brother told me I looked amazing and I had to ignore him because if I had answered I would have started crying.
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/818/4303hb2.jpg

Simon, Suzie's husband had got here safely so now all our guests were accounted for.
http://img91.imageshack.us/img91/6656/4307kk9.jpg

The weather really was against us and when I was having these photos taken the heavens opened and the true tropical rain started to come down. Now I really did start to get worried as I remember reading somewhere that they can cancel the carriage in bad weather and I realized at this moment how important the carriage was for me.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/8876/1634oe4.jpg
http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/2315/1574xi8.jpg

I couldn't talk to anyone about my fears as it was only me and my parents that knew about the carriage and I didn't want to give the game away. I managed to get the attention of Michelle's assistant and asked her if I would still get the carriage, she told me they were working on it!

Then in was time to leave and they asked us to go out the front entrance not the side as I expected, that was it I knew I was getting in a car, what a relief it was to see the carriage turn up, I quickly got in with Mick.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/4641/1676xn9.jpg

Now my mum got a surprise as she was told she was getting in the carriage with us. I had decided to make this change about a month before and had kept it to myself, this started her crying again!

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/9813/1681iu8.jpg

We then set off for the Wedding Pavilion where Darren was waiting for me.

http://img81.imageshack.us/img81/3649/1722yt2.jpg

Coming up - Our Ceremony!

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Our Ceremony

Now at this point Darren must have been hidden away in the grooms room where he had the following photos taken with his mum.

http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/7377/1820ai7.jpg
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/9728/1823hf2.jpg
http://img378.imageshack.us/img378/9033/1826rl5.jpg

We had finally made it to the Wedding Pavilion just as the rain stopped. So even though it rained on our wedding day it rained when we really didn't need to be outside so it didn't cause that much of a problem, so we had someone on our side.

I must just say I am so glad that I had my mum in the carriage with us as she got to walk with me and Mick to the wedding pavilion, our little family for the last time before I became a wife. I don't say this being disrespectful to my brother as he is also my family but he is ten years older than me and wasn't around that much when I was growing up as he was a teenager doing his thing so most of the time we spent together with Mick as a family unit was just the three of us. So these photos have become quite special to me.

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/3594/1777nu9.jpg

Now I was totally on autopilot at this time, waiting to be told where to go and what to do. We were ushered into the Brides room by Michelle and Rev. Kevin Knox came in to talk us through what was going to happen. I have no idea what he said but none of us remembered what he said as we all got something wrong in the ceremony!

http://img204.imageshack.us/img204/9075/1802vt4.jpg

Now I love this photo as even though me and Mick aren't blood related it just shows how alike we are!

http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/8127/1817lq0.jpg

I then had some more photos with my mum which made her cry again, and me laugh. From this point I laughed at everything, I don't know if this was down to nerves or that I was just so relaxed and enjoying it so much.

http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/9127/1836uw8.jpg
http://img383.imageshack.us/img383/1581/1838vd7.jpg

I then had a few more photos with the girls and then it was time for them to go.

http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/3499/1827kh0.jpg
http://img49.imageshack.us/img49/4522/1832hc4.jpg

Now I must have been in the room with just Mick but I can't remember this bit so it must have been for a very short amount of time.

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Our Ceremony Continued

So Darren made his way into the wedding pavilion

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/1254/2026lb0.jpg

followed by the girls

http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/5847/2038uf0.jpg
http://img411.imageshack.us/img411/709/2048ej2.jpg

Darren told me that the girls walked so fast down the aisle that Rev. Kevin Knox had to signal for them to slow down!

Then it was my turn

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/8500/2079iv8.jpg

Before the doors opened Mick turned to me and said "I'm so glad there isn't 150 people waiting on the other side of this door". I think he was starting to get nervous.

The bells chimed and the doors opened

http://img186.imageshack.us/img186/4581/2092qv8.jpg

I would love to say that as we walked down the aisle my eyes locked onto Darren and we had a very special moment. The truth of the matter is I stepped forward and stepped on my dress, I then had to maneuver myself so that I could pick the front of my dress up and still hold onto Micks arm and be able to walk. But because I let go of Micks arm he panicked and kept telling me to hold onto his arm. This all happened very quickly but it totally took my attention away from the moment. Thankfully it didn't look at bad on the video as I thought it would.

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Our Ceremony Continued

Before I know it Mick was presenting me to Darren.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/7097/2126ux7.jpg

Our ceremony started with the rose presentation to our mothers. This isn't something that we do over here so we wanted to include it. This was another thing that started my mum crying again and me laughing.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1986/2159mn7.jpg
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/8213/2161br3.jpg
http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/2732/2169nm3.jpg

Then it was time for our vows. Now I never realized how nervous Darren was, when planning the wedding all I worried about was how I would react if I would cry etc. Now this isn't because I am selfish its because Darren is a very laid back person and nothing normally worries him but at that exact moment I realized how much this meant to him. All his emotions were laid bare, he couldn't even look at me because he was trying not to cry. All I remember is squeezing his hands willing him to look at me so that I could so how let him see how much I loved him and we have our whole future together.

Because of his nerves he got all of his words the wrong way round and missed out the word love. Now me being me said love for him and that started me laughing, I then spent our vows trying to control laughter.

http://img233.imageshack.us/img233/4414/2176bi8.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/2753/2179cz2.jpg

Then it was time for the rings and Rev. Kevin Knox asked Suzie for the rings. Well she didn't have them but thankfully the Major Domo did.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/3541/2218uo9.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/702/2220jp3.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/5748/2235ul9.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/4589/2243tj3.jpg

Darren later told me that because of his nerves he had forgot about this joke and did have a mini panic as he thought he had forgotten them. Most of our guests also thought that Mickey Mouse was going to dance down the aisle and present the rings :laugh3:

DAY 8 - Our Wedding Day! - Our Ceremony Continued

Now it was time to exchange rings, Darren was still very nervous and getting all his words wrong but I had finally controlled my laughing so it all went OK.

http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/912/2258ro9.jpg
http://img221.imageshack.us/img221/1608/2262zc6.jpg
http://img216.imageshack.us/img216/7686/ring2261gb2.jpg

Now I must admit that when Darren put my wedding band on my finger the following thought popped into my head

'I still feel the same'

I don't know what I was expecting to happen, perhaps some major transforming moment like at the end of Beauty and the Beast. This made me smile to myself and I felt myself relax, why I don't know. Its not as if becoming Darren's wife was going to make me a two headed monster or anything. Darren thinks it was the fact that we had finally done it and that it meant to me that we were officially husband and wife at that moment the ring went on my finger.

Next it was time for the unity candle and our mothers were called forward. Now one thing I do regret is not telling them about this part of the ceremony. This is another thing we don't really do in weddings here and they nearly lit our middle candle. This made us all say no to them and bring on another laughing moment. Thankfully Stan was able to edit that part out of our video.

http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1471/2286mw4.jpg
http://img442.imageshack.us/img442/1614/2309yj9.jpg

And before I knew it it was all over and we were announced officially as husband and wife.
