We are leaving for Disney World tomorrow. Our 5-year old daughter has no idea where we are going, just that we are going on vacation somewhere. We aren't going to tell her until we are on the plane. This was such a hard secret to keep. We were planning on not even telling her we were going on vacation, but thought it would be just a little easier to pack if she new... Can't wait to see the look on her face.

OMG!!! We are doing the same thing- My DD is 5 also!!! We go in Sept! We booked in February! It has been killing me!! She doesn't even know we are going on vacation. We are just going to wake her up and tell her we are going on a plane ride! I'm so ready to burst whenever a WDW commercial comes on and she asks if we can go there!! My answer is always... someday, sweetie! She caught me watching a Travel Channel show on AK one day... I quickly turned it, even though she is too young to put it together anyway!
How exciting for you!! Have a great time and report back how it went-- I would ESPECIALLY love to know!!

We too booked way back in Jan/Feb time frame. Its really hard trying to keep it from her. We have been doing the spell the words or using code words to discuss it amongst ourselves. I will report back how it goes. We keep telling her someday, maybe we can go to DW again.

Doing the same for my 7yr son. I purchased a Disney Enchanted call where Mickey is going to call him 7:15 in the morning before we leave. Will definite have the camcorder handy. Will post, if I learn how, when I return. If you want to do it, here is the thread:

You can purchase the same day and they can do it immediately if wish to do it that way. They can get calls from Ariel, Cinderella, Pocohantas and other Disney Characters. They can wish them Happy Birthday, Give them praises for doing chores and other things. Check it out.

She was so surprised. She had no idea where we were going. The person who sat next to her on the plane told her that the plane was going to Mexico when she asked them where we were going. It worked out great. The first time she had any clue was when we went to the Mears bus pickup location for the Magical Express transportation. That lady said to her, so which princess are you going to see. Kind of made me a little mad, but she was going to figure it out once we got on the bus.
