We closed about two months ago, but we don't have our deed yet.

I'm concerned Disney sent it to someone else, since they initially entered our membership info into their systems with someone else's address (but our names and phone numbers).

How worried should I be that someone else out there could have our deed?

Does the deed confer ownership to whoever has it in their hands?

Assuming you purchased a WDW based DVC resort, your deed should be on file with Orange County (http://officialrecords.occompt.com/wb_or1/or_sch_1.asp). And no, DVC deeds are not bearer deeds, they are recorded. Check and see when it was recorded with OC, they may be running late.

Thank you, Chuck! I see the Warrantee Deed, and I assume that's what should be there. What a relief!
