Well everyone it's back to work for me on Monday (8/13). Summer has been too short! I've checked out DisBoards 2 or 3 times a day, but that's going to be tough now - what will all those teenagers:scared1: around.

I think we need a teacher support group, as my husband has absolutely no sympathy for my plight!:sad2:

Oh well, at least I have our October trip to the Fort to look forward to.

I agree! My DH doesn't have one ounce of sympathy either. We don't go back to work until September 4 in Western New York.

If you husbands work with a bunch of 40-something teenage brats 12 months a year like I do that my explain the lack of sympathy!:lmao:

I'm not a teacher, but a Kinder Aide, and we start back tomorrow for inservice :guilty:. I hope the year goes as fast as this summer has gone!

I start my FIRST DAY EVER as a teacher on Sept. 4 (I did my student teaching, but now it finally seems REAL.)
We get home from Ft. Wilderness at 11pm on Sunday, 9/2, and I report to school on Tuesday. I only have one day to rest in between, and I probably won't be able to rest much, because I am so nervous about the new job.

I will be by the pool at FW making notes in the margins of All Quiet on the Western Front and Lord of the Flies to make sure I am prepared!

Yep, back to work for me on Monday, too. Went yesterday and got the classroom set up and some decorations up. We only get a few hours to work in our rooms before orientation on Thursday. Oh, well, maybe this year will fly by!

Hello,

Well, I'n not a teacher. I am a Cafe (cafeteria) Manager for an Elementary Scool. And I too am brand new. I just finished my internship in May and got my School the same month. So I was only a manger for less than 30 days. So I know all about being nervous. And I did not work in the school system at all before becoming an intern. So it is all still very new, and I am still learning. Best of luck to us one and all.

Blessings,
Winnie
