If you find a better discount

Pardon my ignorance as I'm a novice when it comes to all of this. I'm learning much from the good folks on the Dis, however. :goodvibes

Anyway, if I book a package with Disney, if a discount comes along, can I just call and have them apply it to my existing reservation? We are planning a trip next September and I'm hoping for either a discount or free dining (I'm hoping, not expecting). I would like to book now, so I can pay over time. It breaks up the cost when done over a long period. So, is this possible?

as far as I know, if a discount of some sort comes out, you will have to call disney and tell them about it... They will not automatically take the discount off... Last year I called during free dining and the CM didnt mention anything to me about free dining until I said something to her... :rolleyes1

Actually, what I think they do is make a new reservation and cancel your old one.

Go ahead and book now............ IF a code / discount comes out that applies to what you have booked, or something that you could "add" on, then all you would do is call and they will apply it to your existing reservation.

I've done this MANY times.............. the last 2 trips for example, free hoppers, waterparks and more came out........ when I saw the discount code I called and had it applied to my existing reservation and was actually refunded the difference. ( My trip was paid in full.) They will do this with any code or discount that comes out, so long as it applies to what you've booked or can add on. Meaning that if we had NOT had the hoppers booked already, we could've ADDED them on to our tickets at no charge with this code.
