I have taken long car rides before, but always with my own family. Tomorrow I leave on an 8 hour trip with my best friends family, to go pick her up at her summer camp. I need tips to help pass the time. I already bought a few new CDs that I plan to listen to on the way down. Any new movies that you all can think of? I also bought all the Hannah Montanna episodes I could find for my ipod haha.

I'm afraid I will get sick of having earplugs in though. I can't read in the car because I get motion sick.

Do you have any tips to help make this ride seem shorter? I am nervous because this isn't my family, you know? Even though they treat me as a seventh kid...I just won't feel as relaxed.

Talk to your friend. That'll maybe pass... an hour? xD
Um..
There aren't any good movies out right now, I just in the rental store the other day.

When we went to Disney last week I brought a notebook and just drew random pictures. If you don't get motion sickness from it. And since they were just random I barely looked at the paper.

I also bring books but I'm one that can read in a car.

I guess you could sleep? That's what I did half the time. :D
And I brought my Nintendo DS with me.
Sorry not much but...

hmm ive driven with friends family before but never when the friend wasnt there. i would probably draw think listen to music. i remember i played alot of hangman with my friends siblings. oh and they had an etch-a-sketch which actually gets pretty fun when your driving for a long time. if you have an ipod you can play the games on it. im all out of ideas sorry.:sad2:

I get car sickness from reading as well. Doesn't it suck? It's a pain in the butt. :headache:

Anywho. I think what Kayla said was a great idea. Just draw in a notebook, or color something. Or just bring four movies with you, with about 2 hours each it'll pass I'm sure. Maybe you can buy like a box set of a season of your favorite show? I don't know.

Ugh, long car trips suck.

-Text message.
-Talk on the phone.
-Talk to your friends siblings/parents if you feel comfortable doing that.
-Draw.
-Count the cars? haha.
-Take pictures of random stuff.
-Sleep.
-Maybe an eletronic game.
-Eat.

I'm out of ideas. D:

i drive to florida every year! thats almost 19 hours in a car!!! the time goes by fast by sleeping. i bring my laptop along and watch movies a lot. "rent" is my favorite car traveling movie. the music keeps you happy & you tend to sing a lot! and ear phones wont bother you. i've kept mine in once for the whole trip
