Hello all!
I am here looking for you photographic help:goodvibes .
I am trying to compile a collection of WDW photos to help kids traveling to the world who have special needs. My son has Autism so when we go we use something called PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System). This allows our son to communicate with us by showing us a picture of what he wants (food, rides, sleep etc.) and we can also use it to show him what we are doing next .
For trips in the past I have done my best to collect what I can from Magazines and the internet but thought those of you with a nack for photography could be of great help.
If any of you could email me pictures of rides, shows, pools, fireworks, anything disney that gets the point across in one picture.
I will be sharing this with anyone else on the dissabilities board who wants it. This can also be helpful to those who can't speak do to a previouse stroke or dozens of other medical problems.
Your help is GEATLY appreciated! My email is ncnewman24@hotmail.com

Christine,
I have a blog that I put some photos up from our trip last year. If you can use anything on there, please feel free to download it and modify it in anyway.
All of the Disney photos are in the 2006 area on the right side, and if you need a specific picture, whether it be from Disney or not, I am sure we can help.

:) Thanks for everyones help so far. I'm going to go trhough what I have so far and though the next days I will post a specific list of what I could still use. One great thing would be pictures of characters by themselves. I will search the boards:surfweb: , but if there is a thread for this could you point me to it?
Thanks again!;)

Hi
I am going to wait for your list of specific pics you may need. Seems you might be overloaded with pics to look at for now, and don't want to send you duplicates.
I think that's a great idea for your trips... and to share it :goodvibes
I work with Autistic children, and with the pecs and it works amazing, and really helps the children ! ;)

Hey Christine - You're welcome to use any of my photos (see my signature). You might also check out the galleries listed on my website (also in signature) and ask folks listed there if you can use their photos. Barrie

OKay I have gotten tons of pics, tahnks everyone:goodvibes
Now I am asking for specific pictures that I haven't found yet. I'm starting with MK photos, it's best if the photos are as generic as you can get for attractions. Here goes:
Space Mtn
TTA
Astro Orbitor
Snow White's Scary Adventure
Judge's tent
Donald's Boat
POC (this one I'd like a view of the boats just before you get in)
Jungle Cruise, same for this one
The raft to Tom Sawyer Island
Thanks a million!

Sounds like you're making a social story!
I'm an SLP - my child is not autistic - however, I thought that it would be difficult for her to understand the process of leaving home - going to a hotel - spend thenight - get up - go to airport - fly - go to airport - get on bus....
I KNEW that I would be spending two days of "WHEN are we getting to WDW?" So I created a social story to help her understand the long process of what would happen getting there! She did GREAT!!
I made her book small enough for her to carry around - Do you have enough actual PECS????
I don't know how severe your child is, but many children w/ autism don't do well w/ actual photographs and pics w/ busy backgrounds....the child will look at the WHOLE picture - and when the time comes, they expect THE WHOLE picture to be there - they don't tune into the "important" things like we do. They are very CONCRETE. This is why we use pecs w/ black/white - simple - and more like icons rather than photographs.
